No deep squats until later in labour.

fryalot · 13/07/2008 13:32

pruners - sssh... don't mention the B word. Tis a vegetarian thread

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 14:11

I can't do deep squats
I can't get out the BATH without injuring myself and having to call for help
my fanjo is permanently sore
ds says I am the same shape and size as the birth ball

this is my space to whinge and I will roll on anyone who says I must think positive or move or do anything in any shape or form

and people can come and worship at my vast milky feet and soak up my fertile vibes until I get fed up of it and squash them all with a fat buttock

Is the birthing ball any good for you Franny?

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 14:23

it is absolutely fab for putting my feet up on Tatties
i reckon it has completely saved me from backache for the last few months - really brilliant

OP posts:
Tatties · 13/07/2008 14:24

Oh good!

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 14:26

you know my fanjo is just getting worse and worse
I don't know how to describe which bit is hurting but it is seriously screwed up
it has always been a bit like this with the spd but I don't know why it has suddenly got so much worse
no bugger is going to be able to do anything about it at this stage, are they? I am using a heat pack (scared to use ice which would probably be better for inflammation, but I think it might convince the baby to move its head away from the cold )
can I take anything? ibuprofen type thing? I can't rememeber if it's allowed

I can't remember what you are allowed to take Franny... I think paracetamol is ok (I took it occasionally for headaches) but don't know if it would help

Have you mentioned to the midwife about fanjo ache?

VictorianSqualor · 13/07/2008 14:35

You can take paracetamol or co-codamol.

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 14:36

well i mentioned all the spd stuff ages ago and saw a physio, but they discharged me as they couldn't do any more
it actually got BETTER which was weird until a midwife pointed out the head had dropped and was probably acting as a 'splint' to wedge my wobbly pelvis quite nicely

just this weekend the sore inflamed feeling achy fanjo bit has got worse and worse though
and I have been really inactive so I don't understand how I have (feels like) strained it so much

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 14:36

co-codamol? what is that? god I am clueless
will google

OP posts:
popsycal · 13/07/2008 14:37

you can have codeine
co-codamol is fine i think

popsycal · 13/07/2008 14:37

sorry cant stop myself lurking on here

Tatties · 13/07/2008 14:38

co-codamol is good if that is allowed

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 14:41

it's got codeine in it! that's a bit racy

it says here don't take it

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 13/07/2008 14:41

It's paracetamol and codeine so stronger than plain old paracetamol.

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 14:42

it says not codeine by itself either popsy
would have thought personally that was a bit too exciting really
much as dp would love to come home and find me quiet and happy on the sofa (codeine is ruddy lovely IMO)

VictorianSqualor · 13/07/2008 14:44

I was told to take it by my midwife as I get horrific headaches when pg and also saw different docs fortnightly that asked me every time if I'd taken meds, call your community mw or the labour ward and ask if you're worried but I can assure you I was told at every turn it was perfectly fine

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 14:45

nah, not for me, opiates a bit too thrilling at this stage

OP posts:
popsycal · 13/07/2008 14:45

my physio said i could take paracetomol and codeine (or just co-codamol) uif my pelvic pain got really bad

popsycal · 13/07/2008 14:46

i have not taken the codeine as I too feel it is a bit racy

Tatties · 13/07/2008 14:47

Yes it's good stuff, I had it in hospital after having ds and have also taken it for bad headaches, but don't think I would have taken it while pg. I always used to phone the midwife to check things like this as well

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 14:51

I thought they were giving me a shot of codeine in hospital when I had had my episiotomy redone (the pain when the spinal wore off was something else)
when I asked for more in the morning it turned out it was MORPHINE aaaargh
and I was bfing
oh well me and ds had a lovely quiet night that night

FabioTheLiterateCat · 13/07/2008 14:52

You need chocolate.

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 14:53

oh I looked up brufen as well, it says not in 3rd trimester
will continue sitting on heat pack
I have a ready brek fanjo (anyone remember the ready brek glow?)
