Franny... I've seen 3 women on syntocin who haven't had an epi. Just so you know.

F&Z - suppose I am lucky once I do go into labour it's fast and furious, SPD goes away with the placenta virtually. Yes DP's work have been great he's already been off a week and will be off work until baby arrives then two weeks after but cannot take the p* too much. I understand why you don't want forceps etc. I am probably wrongly under the illusion that they will just have to pop my waters or something and my body will do the rest as at 12-14 days over and third baby my body should know what to do and I will avoid any intervention.

lulumama · 12/07/2008 21:26

can we trademark HNL please??

in a couple of weeks, tops, when you are cuddling your beautiful newborn, none of this shall matter a jot!

FrannyandZooey · 12/07/2008 21:32

I wish I could be sure lulu
it mattered a lot to me last time as I was in such pain from botched stitching

sweetkitty am glad dp is able to be there, that is brilliant
I only have mild pelvic pain but will be glad to be rid of it! you were brave to go for a third - did it ever put you off having more?

ButterflyMcQueen · 12/07/2008 21:33

spd was HELL for me last time

barely a twinge this time - i have ben careful but bloody lucky and blessed

sweetkitty · 12/07/2008 21:34

HNL - you must be joking Functional Get it Over With Quick Sex more like, 40 weeks pregnant with SPD it's hardly the most erotic event of my life.

And all it has ever done is give me sleepless nights with horrendous contractions that get my hopes up and never come to anything

I am also getting a lot of erm discharge downstairs could it be a sign..... probably not.

sweetkitty · 12/07/2008 21:37

F&Z - to be honest yes it did put me off a bit and I waited longer than I would have liked to get pregnant again as apparently having them too close together can also be a factor. I knew it would be tough but not this tough, each time it has got that bit worse. Last time DD1 was barely 18 months and slept a good 2 hours in the afternoon so did I or at least rested, this time they are 3 and 2 and don't nap so it's pretty full on. I probably would go for number 4 but not now cannot go through this again.

lulumama · 12/07/2008 21:58

oh franny. i kind of feel your anxiety. with DD i spent so much time dreading a repeat section, as it turns out , birth was super duper straight forward intervention free VB of a persistent OP baby who did not turn !

Poledra · 12/07/2008 23:32

Evening all - still no sign of this one moving. Failed to persuade DH to shag Barbapapa-like wife last night, as was already asleep when he came to bed. Did warn him this afternoon that it might be a good idea but then told him about the 'reversing large camper van into petrol station' analogy that someone came up with on here and he now thinks the mental imagery will rule the possibility of anything happening.

Don't care about the 13th - my wedding aniversary is a 13th. So, if no-one else wants tomorrow, I'll have it.

Being driven mad by parents and dh at the moment - love them all, but having them all living in the same house at one time is Not a Good Thing. Surely this baby shoulod know to come out now so I don;t have to mediate between GPs and Daddy all the time??

popsycal · 13/07/2008 06:52

lulu is right about ticking off your list
once i have had my hair cut and persuded dh to help me shave my legs, that is always Permission To Be Born Quickly for my kids

MamaG · 13/07/2008 07:20

(if it helps, I was induced with DS (second baby) and didn't have ANY pain relief, no epidural, no pethidine, no gas and farking air BUT - no forceps or anything horrid either . Did have an epidural after being induced with DD (first) but I wanted it )

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 09:01

My SPD has just gone very annoying
it doesn't hurt dreadfully to walk or anything - I got that way about 6 weeks ago and then somehow it went away (midwife said baby's head was acting as a splint) - but now it just hurts in my fanjo all the time, when I am just sitting, or anything, and if I move in the wrong way, it really hurts me [self pity]

ds and dp being irritating

no.

Am hoping to start doula training when ds starts school. In the meantime, I just hang around on birth threads, make virtual food and generally get in the way.
