Hi!

Thought I'd start a group for those of us just getting our positives now and are due in April 2027!

I've just had a positive from a frozen embryo transfer. One DD and a previous loss and one failed cycle.

Anxious putting one foot in front of the other in these early days!

also according to the first day of my last period, my predicted due date is 1st April (which isn’t ideal as it’s April fools day, lol). Does anyone know if they give you a different possible due date based off your scans and how baby is developing?

From what I've heard, NHS scans will give you many different 'due dates' throughout your scans with them (due to measurements etc). My friends' advice was to keep the 'first' due date in your head as a rough estimate and ignore the changed ones. I know my date of conception, so I'm working with that 😂

Counting down to my scan at 7wk1d! Dreading next week as apparently week 6 is when sickness usually starts... this is my first so no idea what to expect. My mum was never sick, just felt nauseous, so not sure whether to expect similar? Does it track that way or is it random? I saw a couple of headlines recently about sperm affecting women's pregnancy experience/ sickness - if so I'm f*cked hahaha!

Hey! Just wanted to add my two cents. 🥰
With my first, I never had any sickness or nausea. I genuinely felt great, could eat everything, and got to the point where I was thinking, “Umm… hello? Are you actually in there?!” 😂
Everyone is so different. Some people feel nauseous but are never actually sick, some do have sickness (and just so you know, there are some really effective anti-sickness medications your GP or maternity team can prescribe these days, so you absolutely don’t have to just suffer through it ❤️), and some people don’t get any nausea at all.
I don’t know how much is genetics, how much is pregnancy-specific, and how much is just luck, but I’d try not to dread it before it happens. Whatever camp you end up in, you’ll deal with it if and when it comes. 💕

Tinytotdriver · 30/07/2026 10:20

Does anyone else have a little one constantly trampling/elbowing/kicking on your tummy? I know baby is well protected in there but it still makes me nervous 😅

Hey! 🤗Thanks so much, that's really reassuring to know. HG is a huge fear of mine (as I'm sure it is for most of you)

My main symptom currently is waking up at 1am and 5am every single night without fail...anyone else suffering with poor sleep this early on!?

I'm sleeping real bad at the moment. I am constantly awake from 4am at the moment which is annoying because 1. I am so unbelievably tired and 2. I am a teacher currently on summer hols and want a lay in!!

Yes, I am suffering with poor sleep too! 😟 and I’m generally a good sleeper. Keep waking up at 4:30-5am! Weird isn’t it. Although kept waking up last night due to the heat and needing to stick the fan on!

Agree, I had an early private scan with DC1 and was showing as 7wk6d on scan but based on tracking from LMP should have been 8wk1, from this scan I had an EDD of 3rd Aug, By the time I had my NHS 12 weekish scan EDD changed to 31st July. I always knew this was wrong from the tracking I did and they’d always be an August baby, they were born on the 6th Aug!

So was your own EDD based on LMP and it did end up being correct?

beeble347 · 30/07/2026 13:06

@VioletTea27 I'm also a teacher! Def take advantage of all the daytime naps you can have now if you're sleeping badly. I spent my summer 2 years ago basically curled in a ball from the nausea or napping, it's a bit of a win timing some of the first trimester with summer. No idea if the sickness will kick in similarly this time around but my HOD and a teacher friend both had to run out of their classrooms to be sick in bins, pregnant in term time.

When are you thinking of telling your school, start of autumn term or wait a bit? I did start of autumn term last time but by then I'd had my 12 week scan.

@Tinytotdriver yes trying to stop LO kicking my stomach after bathtime but I remember a family friend telling me they are so well protected and with your second your toddler is probably kicking you in the stomach.

Definitely not sleeping well but toddler is also in charge of that! The heat doesn't help. I'm trying to nap on days he's at nursery part time but some days my brain is too busy and I know I need to be ready to go get him. I'm sleeping in the evenings when he goes to sleep though.

beeble347 · 30/07/2026 13:08

@RowsOfFlowers they might adjust it according to your scans, with my son he was originally due on the 27th, then they moved it forward a week and then he was early by 5 days anyway! 1st April is quite a sweet birthday if they were born then but I think something like only 5%(?) of babies are actually born on their due dates

CatLadyH · 30/07/2026 13:26

RowsOfFlowers · 30/07/2026 12:43

So was your own EDD based on LMP and it did end up being correct?

My NHS EDD of 31/7 wasn’t correct which was based on first day of LMP, I knew this as I always seemed to ovulate a bit later CD18/19 and with tracking DTD it literally wouldn’t have been possible to have that due date.

VioletTea27 · 30/07/2026 13:31

@beeble347I will be 9 weeks (I think) when we return so I’m very worried about possible nausea and sickness… no one wants to vom in front of Year 9 period 6 🤣

I am planning on telling my headteacher straight away. I am a HoD and most of my classes are KS4&5 so I want to give them as much notice as possible to hire maternity cover. They also supported me through my chemical pregnancy (thanks to the heavy bleeding starting whilst I was teaching 😩) and have been so so kind and I know they’ll be really supportive this time around whether successful or not.

According to my LMP, my EDD is also April 1, and I’m actually hoping it’s correct! I love it 🥰
Fun fact, my DD’s due date was also 1st and she came right on it!! I’d quite love birthing both kids on the 1st 😁

Mortima · 30/07/2026 13:50

I don't know how teachers cope having to stand up in a classroom when dealing with pregnancy sickness! I felt like I could barely function in the first trimester with DS and was off work for about 6 weeks. Xonvea still holding me well here so far🤞

My DH is a teacher, so timing wise we're looking pretty good as my EDD (based on probably conception date) is 29th March, so beginning of the Easter holidays here - his school are really good and will let him take his 2 weeks paternity leave pretty much when he wants, so it would be nice to save them for a bit later on.

@CasualOverthinker My DS was also born on the 1st of the month, so I'd also quite like a 1st April birth date! Which is also our cats' birthday 😁so easy to remember

LacedBouquet · 30/07/2026 14:45

I actually couldn’t imagine having morning sickness with a class full of kids, hats off to you teachers!

I was prescribed cyclizine today and advised to register the pregnancy with the midwives. Called them up and they said they don’t take referrals until 6 weeks! Who knew 😆

interesting! Alike you, I think I also ovulate a bit later, so I’m intrigued if it does end up being 1st or a few days later.

Also, I’m so glad the pregnancy will largely take place over autumn and winter. Perfect for snuggly, cosy nights in relaxing on the sofa, and roast dinners 🥰🫶🏻 #purecomfort!

Oooooh, that was such a lovely little visual!!! 🥹🥹🥹
Christmas with a fully formed, but still cute and relatively petite, baby bump for photos around the Christmas tree and all the twinkly lights. 🥹✨🎄
Although… no wine or fancy pâté. 😂😭

Totally @RowsOfFlowers i am certainly grateful I won’t be heavily pregnant at the height of summer again 🥵 it was awful!

Those are exactly the images I visualised too 👀🥹🥰 Christmas baby bump in front of Christmas tree! Yes shame about the tipples and some of the food, lol! This is my first pregnancy and I’m learning a lot about what we can’t eat. No soft cheese or cold meats either!xx

CasualOverthinker · 30/07/2026 15:30

@RowsOfFlowers I’ll out you onto a little something, cheese-wise, you can absolutely do baked Camembert, as well as burrata btw as most burrata you find in supermarkets is made with pasteurized milk! And cold cuts-wise, cooked ham is generally OK as is prosciutto cotto :)

Orchid887 · 30/07/2026 15:39

Oh the visual of snuggly jumpers and cosy evenings with a little bump..! This has made me want to have just a small cry!

I'm suffering on the HG front already. I've had to call in to work which I hate doing. But I work in a hospital and no one needs the staff to also be throwing up everywhere!

I'm now on cyclizine and prochlorperazine which has slowed down the actual sickness but I feel absolutely rotten. My 4 (almost 5) year old is being an absolute sweetheart though so I've had plenty of rest!
