February 2027 Rainbow Babies 🌈 Pregnancy After Loss

anniehall12 · 02/06/2026 15:30

Hi everyone 🤍

I wanted to start a little thread for anyone due around February 2027 with a rainbow baby 🍼

I've recently found out I'm pregnant again, very early, so everything feels quite delicate at the moment. I'm happy, but also incredibly anxious after experiencing a missed miscarriage and a miscarriage, both this year, and I know there may be other women feeling exactly the same way.

I thought it might be nice to have a space where we can chat, share updates, celebrate the little milestones, and support each other through the worries that often come with pregnancy after loss.

Sending love to anyone on this journey 🤍🌈

Hi all, I can’t believe I’m writing this everything was great. Baby measuring 8 weeks 6 days.

@Elephantscantjump my scan was like that 2 weeks ago I was measuring 4/5 days behind. sometimes a tiny mm makes a difference x

Lillylight · 01/07/2026 16:35

@anniehall12 How is the nausea going? I’ve now switched from Xonvea to Cyclizine. To be honest I think they are pretty similar. I’m really struggling to eat anything. No appetite and just feel nauseous all the time. I honestly don’t feel like I’ll ever eat a meal again!

anyone else in the nausea trenches?

Chocolatecustardcreamsrule · 01/07/2026 17:18

I’m glad the scans have all gone well and it’s positive news! Hope the nausea is improving.

My scan didn’t go well today. Only one heartbeat found this time. I’ve been referred to the EPU now for more scans so I won’t have to wait until 12 weeks. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the one remaining stays there.

Elephantscantjump · 01/07/2026 18:45

@Chocolatecustardcreamsrule I'm so sorry 💖 fingers crossed for you

That's what I'm hoping, my cervix is tilted so she got me to put fists under bum etc to get a good view so measurement may be off a little 😂 .

Glad your scan went well!

Really sorry to hear this, I can’t imagine the worry you’re feeling now 😔 similar happened to a friend, she lost one twin early on but went on to have her little boy with no issues, really hoping this is the case for you too 🤞🏼

Fullofconfusion · 01/07/2026 19:18

@Chocolatecustardcreamsruleso sorry. Keeping everything crossed for the other twin. That must be really hard.

@Elephantscantjumpthat’s great that you saw a heartbeat. Tiny measurements can make a huge difference at this stage

@Rainbowmum32amazing news.

I’m trying to not panic over them not seeing the fetal pole or heartbeat. My last miscarriage was just an empty sac and measuring smaller so I’ve got further this time. I just hope it continues to develop. The last week was super slow waiting for today’s scan so I’m not looking forward to another week of waiting!

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 02/07/2026 08:01

I’m so sorry @Chocolatecustardcreamsrule❤️‍🩹that is incredibly tough. Keeping everything crossed for your other baby

I’m just on my way to my first scan at 7+1. At 9am. Was feeling relatively ok until about 30 mins ago… now I feel like I could faint, shaky on my feet trying not to cry and nauseous. Anyone would think I was being taken to my own execution 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️. I must have been bottling this up for some time. I had been telling myself if it’s bad news this time it won’t be as bad a shock as before, clearly my body says otherwise

Chocolatecustardcreamsrule · 02/07/2026 08:05

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite thank you. You got this. The wait is the worst part it’s so tough. I set off early and take the longer route there just to try and keep my mind busy. Thinking of you and hoping your next post is positive!

Fullofconfusion · 02/07/2026 09:47

Hoping to see a positive post from you @SlightlyTerrifiedButPoliteI had awful anxiety before my scan. It’s not really subsided much since either

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 02/07/2026 10:10

All ok thank God 😅✨💫🤞! Thank you so much @Fullofconfusionand @Chocolatecustardcreamsrule. Going back for the next scan in 2 weeks

Hey, I've been having a really tough time! Officially diagnosed with hypermesis gravidarum for the 3rd time 🥺 I was going in every few days for anti-sickness IM injections and fluids as needed. I lost a lot of weight.

I'm currently on the maximum dose of Xonvea, prochlorperazine, metoclopramide. It has helped hugely. No more vomitting. Still have nausea and dry retching. But it's a massive improvement compared to not being able to eat anything, losing 11 pounds and was vomiting until I was nearly passing out!

I found cyczline made me much worse and some other mums say the same. Have you reached out to the pregnancy sickness support? They're amazing. they've helped me so much xxx

For those struggling majorly with anxiety, how are we managing it? Those who have decided to have extra reassurance scans, how often are you having them?
I don't know what to do...I want to have extra scans for reassurance, I don't want to spiral and end up with bad prenatal anxiety.. would love to hear other people's strategies 🤍🌈

OP posts:
Fullofconfusion · 02/07/2026 14:40

@anniehall12I’m hugely struggling. I don’t think I’m doing myself any favours as I’ve been googling far too much and overthinking everything. My scan wasn’t a bad outcome but also not as reassuring as I would like so it’s made me totally spiral. I’m trying to keep my brain busy with other things. Trying to get stuck into work and hobbies but my brain does keep drifting.

Sorry to hear you’re having such a rough time with the HG. It really is awful. I don’t suffer but a friend did and I saw how hard it could be

Elephantscantjump · 02/07/2026 16:12

I'm so glad your scan was positive @SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite .

Re. Anxiety @anniehall12 I'm not managing it 😂 , its exhausting. If I feel myself ruminating I am trying some positive mantras or just talking to baby which is a little helpful. I think I'll ask for referral to perinatal mental health when I see the midwife on the 18th. I am having counselling too still which is a bit helpful.

SantiagoSister · 02/07/2026 16:33

I find the only thing which really helps with my anxiety is keeping busy and distracted. If I’m left alone to my own devices I over worry and google everything, some of the rabbit holes I’ve been down are madness. Keeping my mind busy really helps but of course, it’s not possible 24/7!

Musicaltheatremum · 02/07/2026 16:43

Good luck everyone. My daughter lost twins in march. Yesterday She had a call from her last friend who hadn't had a baby to say she was pregnant, due November then another call from another friend saying they were pregnant with number 2. My daughter was so happy for her friends but it really hit home. She's only on cycle 2 post miscarriage but it's hard. I'm just the hopeful grandma but I'm finding it all very hard so I really feel for all of you.

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 03/07/2026 11:06

Have any of you ladies had experience of haematomas in pregnancy? I understand they are more common in IVF pregnancies.

I have been spotting for a couple of weeks and on my scan yesterday there was a haematoma above my cervix. The clinic weren’t worried about it and said it was likely the cause of the spotting.

Last night I had two big painless gushes of blood when I got off the sofa. I then had a clot about 2/3 length of my finger appear painlessly this morning. I let the clinic know this morning and they’ve suggested re scanning in a week rather than two weeks.

I was feeling relatively relaxed about it but my DH is really panicked and insisting I get a scan sooner to check things out. I’m worried that racing around trying to get a scan is going to tip me over into panic stations when I’m sure the clinic would scan me sooner if they were concerned

anniehall12 · 04/07/2026 06:26

Hey @SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite how's things? I've had one but personally I didn't experience any bleeding, although it is very common.

The nurse did say if I were to experience any bleeding I'd have to go straight in for a scan and check over.

I agree with your DH but then again I do suffer from anxiety.

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 04/07/2026 07:39

@anniehall12thank you so much for checking in 🤗.

Fingers crossed the bleeding seems to have stopped as of last night. I got a private scan yesterday which unbelievably was completely fine, with the baby slightly bigger even than yesterday.

I thought it was over as I was bleeding in the scan and had some more clots pop out before. still absolutely no pain with it

Before the scan the sonographer looked at the photo of the large clot I had passed this morning and said “that’s significant you did the right thing coming in” but then straight away said baby is fine and there is nothing on the scan to explain the clots. The two haematomas which were on my scan on Thursday were still there yesterday, so it doesn’t look like they were clearing themselves out

I’m hoping it’s just the clexane and aspirin. My clinic told me to stop taking it until 48 hours after the bleeding stops and the bleeding does seem to have stopped for now

my next scan at the IVF clinic is on Thursday 😅🤞

I did experience my EPU for the first time yesterday and really am not enthused about returning. I registered and sat down and there was a sign saying expect a wait of 6 hours or more for walk ins, and 1 hour or more for booked appointments. I thought I’m just going to leave and get a private scan because if this is a loss I don’t want it happening in this waiting room. They called me after I left saying they were looking for me and why did I just leave without saying, they wouldn’t have made me wait that long despite the sign. I wonder why put up that sign? It may just be me as I tend to assume the care isn’t available from a bad past experience (dismissal of a serious liver problem and gut infection). I will try to find a bit more confidence when I next go back to the EPU and I suppose at least I know you can query the wait times

That is amazing news. What a relief! You must feel happy 😊 and good thing you have another scan next Thursday so lots of reassurance and getting to see your precious little bean! 😍🌈

I've always found my EPU to give me great care, I've never waited for more than 30 minutes and looked after by lovely specialist nurses. In my pass 2 losses, after it was discovered on the scan I never went back into the main waiting room, they always gave me a private room which they specifically have on the unit for the event of PL. It's a shame I suffered losses but it did allow for me to get to know the unit and nurses well. Which is nice as I will go there for any issues up until 18 weeks, then it will be the MAU with midwives and OBs. But of course I know all hospitals and departments are different and some people do get poor care. I hope this won't be the case for you.

I've been discharged by the recurrent miscarriage clinic which is nerve racking and won't have any NHS scans until 12 weeks (unless in the event of something like pain/bleeding) ... So I have booked myself 2 private scans for during that time as my anxiety just will not allow me to go that long without a scan. I just keep telling myself no pain and no bleeding are good signs. But then I can't stop thinking about my MMC which had no symptoms!

Sending you love 🤍🌈

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 04/07/2026 09:30

@anniehall12good idea on booking the private scans 🤗. How many weeks do you have to go until your first NHS scan and how far apart did you book your scans? my friend who had a few losses told me she found booking scans every couple of weeks until she could feel movements helped a lot and was a good balance between over scanning. I now have a weekly scan though at the IVF clinic the next two weeks and after this wobble I may try to stick at that frequency

I’m so glad you have had a positive experience at your EPU and yes as terrible as it is to have had the losses they showed what they were made of 🤗. As mentioned I think I was too burned from the past to really give them a chance yesterday, will try to find more courage to hang around next time 😅

Wishing you a very lovely weekend from my slightly nauseous train journey 😂

Elephantscantjump · 04/07/2026 10:05

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite really glad the bleeding is settling and you were able to see baby 💖 . Our epau has a sign on the door to explain they are an A&E for early pregnancy and so you may experience a wait time of up to 4 hours, but I never have they're usually pretty good and if you call first to get a slot they're never more than 10 mins off it. Really tricky when you've experienced bad care before.

I will have 2 epau scans (5 ish and 8 ish weeks) then probs the nhs 12 week one. Due to my 2nd trimester loss they will likely offer me other scans in between on nhs this time and then as I'm plus size I'll probably be booked in for growth scans later down the line.

I'm hoping I'll get enough nhs scans, I really don't want to have to get a private one this time round as that's where we found out about our loss last time and I'm just not brave enough to go back yet x

Chocolatecustardcreamsrule · 04/07/2026 10:18

@anniehall12 wonderful news! That’s scary not having another scan booked (wise to book some private ones in!) but the best possible news to have, you must be so relieved!

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite that’s such good news! That sounds so stressful. Sorry you had a bad experience with the EPU. The one I visited was really good, they would sit you in a private room straightaway and there was never any waiting but that was in a smaller hospital, I’ve been referred to a bigger one this time so I don’t know if that will be the same.

How have people’s experiences been with a private scan? I haven’t heard about my next scan yet so I’m thinking of booking one, I’m feeling quite detached from the pregnancy since I received the bad news about the second baby. I really want to be excited again but I just keep thinking it’s going to end badly. I was also experiencing a bit of nausea before but I haven’t had that in the last few days so minds jumping to worse case scenarios.
