February 2027 Rainbow Babies 🌈 Pregnancy After Loss

Hi everyone 🤍

I wanted to start a little thread for anyone due around February 2027 with a rainbow baby 🍼

I've recently found out I'm pregnant again, very early, so everything feels quite delicate at the moment. I'm happy, but also incredibly anxious after experiencing a missed miscarriage and a miscarriage, both this year, and I know there may be other women feeling exactly the same way.

I thought it might be nice to have a space where we can chat, share updates, celebrate the little milestones, and support each other through the worries that often come with pregnancy after loss.

Sending love to anyone on this journey 🤍🌈

@MrsC2018I’m really sorry ❤️‍🩹. Being home for that week sounds like a sensible plan. My fear is discovering just before leaving but equally I don’t want to lose more time being away for a couple of weeks and not knowing if things have stopped progressing. I’m going to ask my IVF clinic what they would advise timing wise with that in mind at my first scan on Thursday, at the moment I’m thinking of a scan a week before travel xx

Elephantscantjump · 28/06/2026 09:24

@SantiagoSister I'm so sorry for your loss and difficult second delivery. 🤞🏻 and wishing you a really smooth pregnancy and delivery this time.

The anxiety is truly awful 🫂

Fullofconfusion · 28/06/2026 10:09

Welcome @SantiagoSisterso sorry for your loss. I think we’ve all been on a tough journey in here which helps. I find it very hard to feel positive and excited, which is what most people feel when finding out they’re pregnant, because my past experiences tell me that it’s not always a happy time.

I think travelling and holidaying can bring extra anxiety. I hope you all get the reassurance that you need before travel and the extra worry doesn’t spoil your plans. It’s so hard. We’ve been trying (and having losses) for 2 years and you feel like you’re constantly putting your life on hold. Its true that anxiety really is the thief of joy

WaryStork · 28/06/2026 17:01

Wow sending love to every single individual on this thread.

I have had 3 previous missed miscarriages, each measured at the point of us finding out at 8 weeks, 4 weeks and 7 weeks.
i am pregnant again, due in very early 2027. Today i am 12 weeks and 1 day. i have had and EPAU scan at 6 weeks and 6 days, and then private scans 8 weeks, 9 weeks and 2 days and at 10 weeks (after a bleed, which was ok thankfully). All scans showed a healthy heartbeat and good growth. We have our 12 week scan next week, However I feel really worried and anxious. What is the likelihood all is ok? Never got this far and we want this so badly.

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 28/06/2026 20:46

@SantiagoSisterand @WaryStorkI’m so very sorry for your losses and wishing you all the best for your pregnancies 🤗

@WaryStorkmy DH found this website which calmed me down a lot https://datayze.com/miscarriage-chart. You input some and it tells you how the miscarriage odds decrease each day. It was hard for me to keep insisting to my DH that everything is doomed when he showed me and it helps to see the odds are in things working out, especially given where you’ve gotten to now ✨💫🤞

Miscarriage Probability Chart

Displays the overall probability of miscarriage - or, conversely, the probability of not miscarrying - based on pregnancy length by day and maternal history.

It’s another miscarriage for me. Heartbeat has stopped, just waiting for a referral back to EPU. I guess it will be another scan, and then talking through my options.

we’ll be fine, obviously gutted but hopeful it should be all done for going on holiday and I can get back to normal levels of anxiety and worrying about everything rather than this pregnancy hyper awareness of every twinge and feeling.

The dream of having another baby was lovely whilst it lasted though

@MrsC2018I’m so sorry. Please take care of yourself

Thanks all. Confirmed at EPU this morning that baby stopped growing at 8 weeks, no way to know when the heartbeat stopped but assume this weekend. I’ve opted to take the tablets to start the miscarriage, I’ve had no bleeding at all and I’m still feeling hungry and sick so I don’t want to carry on like this any longer really. Best to deal with the inevitable sooner rather than later.

still feel sad, but it feels manageable as we’ve got things to look forward to.

best of luck to you all, hope all of the warriors on this thread take their rainbow babies home 🌈

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s completely shit. have you had any testing done? X

I have my scan tomorrow, I should be 9 weeks but other than feeling nauseous every now and again I don’t feel any different. I’m convinced it’s another mmc too. I’ve had 6 so far and 3 early losses.

Sending love and sympathies. I’ve been there and it’s just rubbish. Do some nice things for you.

MrsC2018 · 30/06/2026 14:52

@Rainbowmum32 it’s hard to know what’s intuition and what’s your brain trying to guard your heart and prepare you for the worst I think. Very sorry to hear you’ve had so many losses.
I certainly also approach every scan believing I will get bad news, because most of the time I do - out of 8 pregnancies I’ve brought 3 home. I’ve had a heartbeat in all 8 and even had great 12 week scans in 5 of them - my perceptions in pregnancy can’t not be skewed and I accept that.

yes, I’ve had genetic testing - after the first loss my husband and I were lucky enough to have genome sequencing at St Mary’s hospital, Manchester and there are no clashes to cause our problems. The first 2 losses were at 16 weeks so the babies had full post mortems as well which revealed no cause of death. My blood panel revealed nothing as well. The only thing that couldn’t be ruled out in either of those losses was the placenta, because in both cases it broke up during the births so they couldn’t categorically say it it did/didnt cause or contribute to their deaths. The pregnancies since then I’ve had progesterone, clexane and aspirin prescribed as all are known to support the placenta and I did go on to have a live birth of my little boy.

i think these last 2 miscarriages are age related as they are “normal” miscarriages- heartbeat has gone between 7-8 weeks suggesting chromosomal problems. Due to the genome sequencing we know that there isn’t anything more we can do I guess, apart from stop trying and putting ourselves through this or keep going and accept that if I’m lucky enough to get pregnant at 42, so the risk of miscarriage is more likely.

we’ll see - got some decisions to make after holiday I guess!

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 30/06/2026 17:13

@MrsC2018I’m so sorry.

You may well have already explored this, but in IVF you can test embryos to see if they are chromosomally normal. It’s called PGT-A testing. It was one of the reasons I got comfortable with IVF after my miscarriage.

I already had the embryos ready because we did an egg retrieval the month after my endometriosis surgery to preserve fertility (as there was a risk of drop off in ovarian function). But I still felt like I wanted to try to conceive naturally if I could post surgery. After my miscarriage from that natural conception I then felt more reassured going ahead with a tested embryo transfer. My consultant had said to me it was the best way to “optimise outcomes”. I’m also taking clexane and aspirin

I just wanted to mention it in case helpful when considering your options xx

MrsC2018 · 30/06/2026 17:58

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite thank you for the advice, I’m certain im too old now for the IVF odds to be in my favour. I actually had 5 transfers and 4 egg retrievals to get my middle child, my daughter. I had secondary infertility for years after my first baby, so I’m confident we don’t have it in us to go down that path again - I think the universe is teaching me to be content with what I’ve been gifted already and at this point I’m ok with that I think

Fullofconfusion · 30/06/2026 18:29

@Rainbowmum32I also have a scan tomorrow. My first one. I’m terrified. I’ve done a lot of talking to chatGPT who has been my unpaid therapist! I’m trying to think that this is a whole new pregnancy and just because things happened in the last one it doesn’t mean that the same things will happen this time. But of course the other half of my brain has leapt straight to it being a missed miscarriage and them seeing absolutely nothing tomorrow other than an empty sac (as that’s what happened last time)

I spoke to EPU earlier to confirm I was attending and she said “just to confirm this is your 7th pregnancy?” That hit home. I have one living child so no wonder my brain is constantly thinking the worst.

I’ve have some waves of nausea but it’s mostly my boobs that as super sore and if I go too long without eating I get shaking and super grumpy. Sending you lots of luck for tomorrow

Elephantscantjump · 01/07/2026 11:32

Hope scans go okay today @Fullofconfusion and @Rainbowmum32

Fullofconfusion · 01/07/2026 11:49

@Elephantscantjumpthank you. Did you have your first scan this week? How did it go?

I’ve been for my scan. Gestational sac and yolk sac both seen but no fetal pole. The sac measured 6 weeks exactly.

I would be 6+1 by my dates but obviously could be slightly out due to later implantation. The sonographer said they don’t always see a fetal pole at this stage and has booked me back in for a weeks time. I’m slightly relieved as I know that everything is in the right place and it’s developing but not quite as reassured as I hoped I might be. She did say things were looking positive though so I’m keeping everything crossed. No idea how I’m going to get through this next week!

Oh I'm glad it was sort of positive! The early scans can be so hit and miss.

I did, it was as good as it could be really. Measured at 5+3 so about a week behind but I have quite long cycles and often ovulate late / implant later i think so she didn't seem concerned about that at all.

They could see sac, pole etc and she did see heartbeat activity so I'm trying to stay positive.

They said usually they would discharge but given my history they have booked me back in for another scan in 3 weeks to check on everything and not just leave me to wait for the 12 week scan.

I'm having a tiny bit of variable brown spotting when I wipe only and know its likely nothing but makes you a bit mad doesn't it 😂🤦🏼‍♀️
