Pregnancy after loss

Hi, I'm 4+4 after a loss at 6+5 in April. I don't want to join the 'due in January' thread yet as I joined the December one then had to bow out, but thought it might be nice to have a thread where anyone in a similar position could chat/vent? I can't see any recent similar threads, apols if I have missed.

I'm feeling a lot more nauseous than last time which I have read can be a positive sign, but obviously doesn't guarantee anything. Just trying to cling to any hope I can!

Not only is it terrible how much the policy varies dependent on where you live, it’s frustrating everyone you speak to is telling you different things.

Thanks for the messages of support, it means a lot!

I called my epu today at 8am and was greeted by ‘you need to be referred so go to A&E or through the GP’ I did manage to get a GP appointment and a referral has been made to the epu and I have an appointment tomorrow morning so after all of that I will finally get some answers tomorrow, not ideal as I would have liked some answers and reassurance today but atleast I have an appointment for tomorrow so that’s something ❤️

@AnonymousUser101 oh god, sorry to hear you're still waiting but glad you got booked in at least! It's mad how much protocol varies in different areas, my EPU is self referral and open at weekends. How are you feeling?

I wish it was the same here! I was always told I could call my epu for an appointment if I had any more bleeding but from the response I had today obviously not! It’s ridiculous it really is, the lack of care is shocking to me.

I’m okay, just abit of lower back pain really, the bleeding has settled down a lot now, it’s mostly just like the last day of your period now really which I am relieved about. I just feel super anxious ahead of tomorrow, my anxiety is just through the roof, all the waiting around is just so difficult and the not knowing aswell x

Hello all, just a little update!

I had my scan this morning and we got to see baby bouncing around and all is well. I am further along than I thought, I’m 12 weeks 2 days but as I have my dating scan next week they didn’t want to date me today. There is some bleeding around the sac which is where the blood has come from. I feel such big sense of relief right now. Thank you all for your kind messages ❤️

I had three miscarriages in between two healthy babies - two chemicals and one at 6 weeks. My second baby is now 5 weeks old and healthy. No complications in the two successful pregnancies and everything went very smoothly. No idea why.

I couldn't enjoy scans in the last pregnancy, I would always hold my breath until I was told there was heartbeat. It never felt real, I couldn't be happy the way I was during the first pregnancy, I kept thinking there will be no baby. I'm now holding this baby in my arms.

I told myself that if I have miscarriages I just need to keep going, keep trying. These embryos had some abnormalities but eventually a good embryo will make its way to the uterus.

I’m so happy to hear this update @AnonymousUser101& what a relief to be further along than you thought and past the first trimester.

Take it easy, I’m 30 weeks tomorrow & after a loss there’s still worries along the way, but it’ll be so worth it in the end for us all 🥰

I had my dating scan today, baby is all good and healthy, they are really happy with baby but they did say I still have a lot of blood around the sac and it’s covering my cervix at the moment. They have booked me in for a 16 week scan so I don’t have to wait until my 20 week one so they can see what it’s like then but I just wanted to know if anybody had a similar experience? They don’t really tell me a lot, I asked if it was normal or something to be worried about but they just said it’s very common but they couldn’t measure it as it’s around the sac etc but they anticipate that I will bleed again. I am so happy and relieved that baby is fine and healthy but abit deflated about the blood situation really so I’m just looking for some advice really.

Glad the dating scan went well! I got told I had an area of blood on my 20 week scan, they basically said it would either reabsorb and resolve on it's own or I would bleed again at some point but that they couldn't tell me which.

I then had a bleed at 25 weeks and the scan they did the day after that they said they couldn't see any blood. Got another scan on tuesday at 27 weeks so will see if anythings changed. Unfortunately the blood can be behind the baby so it's not always possible to see it and expect it as nothing was picked up at 12, 14 or 16 weeks!

Had my growth scan today at 27+1 and baby is measuring fine on the 34th centile so doesn't seem she's as small as they thought which is a relief and no sign of any blood so fingers crossed for no more bleeding! Back again at 32, 36 and 40 weeks so they're keeping an eye on everything.

Have you been doing anything different since you’ve had all the bleeding? I am trying my best to sit as much as I can and the only real moving I do is around the house as I’m desperate to get all this blood gone x

So pleased to hear this @ThatMintMemberI’ve had to have a couple of growth scans too but finding them less daunting than earlier scans cause I can feel baby moving around a lot now

The only things I've changed since all the bleeds is avoiding very heavy lifting (I was lifting my 4 year old daily before the first bleed so stopped that and taught him to do stuff independently instead). I've also decided to take a break from intimacy for now as I feel like that could have caused/triggered the most recent bleed because of the timing. It's only 13 more weeks so seems worth being careful as I get closer to the finish line and I do not want to end up back in hospital!

Aside from that I move around a lot as constantly getting stuff done, playing with my son, going on days out etc. I'm just not taking any risks so no going on fairground rides or anything just incase.

It's so different to my first pregnancy where I was a total recluse as it was just after covid. I worked from home, barely went anywhere or saw anyone 😂 this time I'm constantly on family days out, meeting up with friends, running errands, up early in the morning and late at night. So tired haha.

Hey, how is everyone doing?

I had my 20 week scan today (I’m 21+1 but was away last week). All looking great except femurs are measuring short, so I’m back for a medical scan next week. The sonographer didn’t seem at all concerned (I suspect there may be something on my file about anxiety as she was SUPER nice and reassuring) so I’m just waiting patiently til next Friday 😅

I had mine today too! I'm 20+5 and I was ridiculously anxious but all looks good. I have to go back next week as the baby was scrunched up in all manner of awkward positions so they couldn't get all the measurements but everything looked fine. My fibroids are back, which is annoying but the C-section is already booked so I guess not too much of a worry.

Hope those little legs are ok during the scan next week!

@Swissmeringue ah yay!! Really glad everything is looking good and we both get a bonus extra scan 😊 Have you already got the date for your section? I get mine a week or two before.
