Pregnancy after loss

Hi, I'm 4+4 after a loss at 6+5 in April. I don't want to join the 'due in January' thread yet as I joined the December one then had to bow out, but thought it might be nice to have a thread where anyone in a similar position could chat/vent? I can't see any recent similar threads, apols if I have missed.

I'm feeling a lot more nauseous than last time which I have read can be a positive sign, but obviously doesn't guarantee anything. Just trying to cling to any hope I can!

that’s lovely news. but i can imagine, im the same. have you had a previous mc?
iv not had anymore pink discharge today? maybe that’s a good sign but my boobs aren’t as sore.. ergh

LPR16 · 23/07/2026 14:18

So sorry to hear this @Countrygirl95sending you a big hug, I hope you get some clarity in a couple of weeks x

Yes I miscarried in April at around 6.5 weeks - I've bled at exactly the same stage in all of my pregnancies, I have a 2 year old and had the same with him. No more discharge is definitely a good sign, my boobs haven't been nearly as sore this time round and it comes and goes so try no to panic about that x

So 16 days after my NIPT they’ve managed to confirm my blood sample was lost. I am so angry, upset and stressed.

Hope everyone else is having a better time!

Oh no! How frustrating for you! Can they fast track your next sample so you get the results asap?

10DPO and a BFN over here this morning so feeling a bit frustrated. Was really hoping it would happen quickly again 🙃 x

ChasingRainbow5 · 29/07/2026 17:34

@sapphirerubydiamond I’ve asked if they can 🤞🏼

Aw I’m sorry, that’s totally understandable to feel like that. Hope you can treat yourself in some way x

@ChasingRainbow5 thats so annoying! Are they still able to do the test?

@sapphirerubydiamond sorry to hear that, be kind to yourself and have a glass of wine or whatever thing you enjoy that you won’t be able to do when you’re pregnant maybe? It’s not a conciliation but hopefully it might help a tiny bit! As the saying goes, you’re not out until AF shows!

ChasingRainbow5 · 29/07/2026 18:25

@Namechangedforthis60yes but I’ve asked for a guaranteed timescale for results so will see what they say. How are you getting on?

Namechangedforthis60 · 29/07/2026 18:54

@ChasingRainbow5 I hope they can do it quickly for you!

I am good thank you, 20 weeks and felt definite movement from baby for the first time today so that was lovely! I’ve had some flutters in the last week or two but nothing that was so obvious! Scan next week and still trying to convince my partner to find out if it’s pink or blue!

ChasingRainbow5 · 29/07/2026 20:52

@Namechangedforthis60 ahh that’s so exciting!! Keep us posted and enjoy feeling them move, it’s incredible 💕

It is definitely my favourite part of pregnancy, love feeling them wriggling around in there!

Oh no! That's so annoying, just dragging everything out for you :( hope they manage to do it again quickly!

I'm doing fine aside from just melting in the heat. I went overdue into August when my son was born 4 years ago but had the luxury of being able to mostly just stay home. This time around I'm at nursery meetings, doctors appointments and running around grabbing party bag items but nowhere has any aircon :( I'm just a sweaty mess unless there's air-conditioning, it's making me want to stay home until autumn!

Let us know if you find out! I decided against NIPT, my combined results came back as less than 1 in 5000 for Edwards and Patau's, 1 in 290 for downs which is pretty low for a 40 year old so we aren't testing further. I'm 16 weeks on Monday and our kids are desperate to find out if the baby is a girl or a boy. Naturally DD wants a girl and DS wants a boy, so someone is getting their way I guess. 😂
Anyway we'll go for an extra scan next week where they can come and find out. I'm massively unfused either way, I just want a baby, but I think it's a girl, so we shall see!

I've booked to go to another clinic today and the first one is refunding me. I'll be leaving them an honest review once the refund comes through 😅

I feel for you in the heat, it's not quite as hot where I am but still been tough. My son was a summer baby and I found first trimester in a heatwave this time much harder than heavily pregnant in a heatwave! Though the toddler may be a factor there too 😂

@Swissmeringue that's so exciting you're finding out next week! I'll hopefully find out through NIPT, I'm pretty sure I'm having another boy but have nothing to base that on.

Had my bloods taken again and got an unexpected pretty detailed scan, so that was a lovely surprise 😁 Everything looking ok for now and should get NIPT results next week 🤞🏼

It's not even that hot as I'm in the north of England, I feel like everyone around me is doing fine and I'm just dripping and fanning myself with menus haha. Feel like this must be what the menopause is like!

Aww that's lovely that you got another scan! Hopefully that helps keep you going for the extra wait!

ChasingRainbow5 · 30/07/2026 16:07

@ThatMintMember I'm in Scotland so it's still a lot cooler here, we've had loads of rain this week! Ha I'm 41, perimenopause is probably just waiting for this pregnancy to be over then it'll hit me hard 😂

Haha, probably! Something to look forward to after pregnancy 😂

I'm 36 so hoping I get a little longer before the next challenge! I actually feel more level headed when pregnant than not strangely though.

Namechangedforthis60 · 30/07/2026 16:23

I’m in the southwest so it’s been horrendously hot here, definitely struggled with it! I’m finding work increasingly difficult too, I had SPD in my last pregnancy and am starting to notice niggles now so am expecting that joy to hit me soon! Still so glad to be pregnant though!

ThatMintMember · 30/07/2026 16:29

Oh bless you! Is your job quite physical?

I'm already noticing leg cramps, round ligament pain and stretch marks! It feels too early for all that (23 weeks). I definitely feel bigger earlier which no doubt won't help though.

The gratitude goes without saying :) I'd take any of the physical symptoms to have a healthy baby at the end of it.

ChasingRainbow5 · 30/07/2026 16:40

I was just going to say the gratitude goes without saying, doesn't mean the niggles aren't annoying though! I hope it doesn't get too much worse @Namechangedforthis60

@ThatMintMember I feel so much bigger this time, I want/need to get my maternity jeans out but I feel like that's tempting fate ahead of my rescan (NHS) and NIPT results so I'll suffer for another week 😅

OP posts:
Namechangedforthis60 · 30/07/2026 17:05

I’m a mental health nurse, I work in the community so lots of travelling, driving and walking to meet with service users and do assessments. Last pregnancy I was signed off from 28 weeks so
im hoping to make it further than that this time as caseloads are so high I don’t want to put extra pressure on my lovely colleagues!

ThatMintMember · 30/07/2026 18:23

@ChasingRainbow5 you're doing better than me! I was in maternity legging/trousers by 11 weeks and I really wanted them earlier than even that! Although I actually cannot tolerate jeans in the heat so lining some up for when the weather cools down :) i don't feel like me when I'm not in jeans though.

@Namechangedforthis60 oh wow, yeah that is a bit early to start your maternity! Hope you get a bit longer this time 🤞

Hey all, a very happy double update from me 😊

Finally had a successful dating scan - due 13 January!

And got my NIPT results back, everything low risk and I’m officially outnumbered 🩵
