Vaccines = autism?

Hello

so I am currently pregnant with a baby boy and my partner is strongly against getting him vaccinated when he gets here as he believes vaccines cause / increase risk of autism,
especially in boys

id never thought twice about this but now hes put it in my head. Yes ive done my own research but hes saying doctors and the internet will tell you what you want to hear because they want you to vaccinate your kids. Tbh hes a conspiracy theorist

i just want to hear from people who vaccinated their sons and their son didn’t develop it? I know some people will shout at me for this, not my intention to offend anyone

Covid is very similar to other respiratory diseases. So there were several vaccines that were already prepared and just needed to be tweaked when COVID became a thing.

Any decent research into the autism- vaccine link would show very quickly that this theory has been well and truly debunked.

Your partner sounds like a conspiracy theorist who thinks big pharma is evil but is still happy to use all other products produced by big pharma and medical science without doing any research into them but for some reason is against vaccines even if that puts his vulnerable child and other children at risk. It’s disgusting behaviour.

Guys - chill out, seriously 😂😂

I don’t need medical journals, I just asked simply WHO VACCINATED THEIR SONS and autism didn’t happen. I don’t understand why people are so triggered by this 😂

To answer your question - literally almost everyone vaccinated their children right up until a now discredited doctor put forward a nonsense theory about vaccines causing autism. Pretty much everyone who was the right age from the late 80s got the MMR vaccine - their parents being very aware of the horrors of the effects of the diseases being thus prevented - and the vast majority of that generation do not have autism.

Some people believe that vaccinations put lives at risk. What could be more crazy than injecting germs into your body? And if the germs are man-made they may contain aluminum and make people magnetic, as was widely reported during the Covid hoax.

Interestingly it’s never highly qualified scientists who believe this 🤔

Demdem6 · 10/05/2026 08:17

I’m anti COVID vax, yes. And that’s fine, it’s MY personal choice. Simply because I feel the vaccine was rushed and hadn’t been tested for years and years. Is that okay? 😂

Now go away and do proper research.

The vaccine was not rushed at at all

I find is scary how people do not see this.

sashh · 10/05/2026 09:41

Just for half a second OP imagine if there was a link is your partner saying he would prefer a dead child to one with autism?

That he will risk your child becoming deaf and blind from a childhood disease rather than having a child with autism?

A couple of famous people with autism include Daryl Hanna and Dan Aykroyd. There is evidence that Einstein was on the spectrum.

Even when people survive these diseases they can be left with permanent disability, from Mary Berry's small arm and hand to people who spent the rest of their lives in an iron lung.

Nanny0gg · 10/05/2026 09:41

Demdem6 · 10/05/2026 08:21

It doesn’t matter. IMO, it was rushed and then forced on people so I chose not to have it and will never have it. Sorry if that upsets you loll

Fuck off with your LOLs and emojis

People (including children) die because of morons like you and your partner.

I hope your baby has all the luck in the world - they're going to need it.

Nanny0gg · 10/05/2026 09:43

Owlsintheforest · 10/05/2026 08:46

I agree with this. I gave some rational reasons behind my DH and I being careful and cautious with vaccines for our baby yet someone still called me loopy. It’s not helpful in the slightest and it would never make either of us change our stance on not blindly following the vaccine schedule. Like I’ve said. We’re not anti vaccine but due to our medical history we have to be very careful with pharmaceuticals.

And that is a totally different scenario and another reason for all who can, SHOULD be vaccinated

This is a really interesting point. As you may have read from my previous post I had a bad reaction from the single measles vaccine when I was 1 but have recently had the MMR vaccine with no side effects.

This could have been to do with my egg allergy (the single measles was made of egg protein but MMR is chick cells) or it may very well be because my adult immune system is more able to deal with the load now and is less sensitive to it. It makes me think whether adults can tolerate vaccines better than children?

It is really important to vaccinate because like I said before it’s safer than actually getting the virus with no protection but I worry that the combined vaccines may be too much for children’s immune systems and can cause auto-immune conditions. It would be nice if single vaccines were an option still.

Hecatee · 10/05/2026 09:46

Where’s he getting his info from? Oh that’s right, the internet. And why does he think the government wants to give children medicine that “gives them autism”?

Me and my DH both had every vaccine offered to us through our loves, including Covid and flu vaccines. Our child had every vaccine offered to him and he was also pumped full of very strong medication for weeks post birth due to a bacterial infection. He does not have autism. Guess what he also doesn’t have - measles, mumps, rubella, etc, etc.

But all of that is irrelevant really.

You’re right to question health choices relating to your child, but please think carefully about the sources of the info you receive.

id Never risk my kids to protect yours or others. Sorry, that’s not happening lol

And you say it’s your partner who’s the conspiracy theorist. You sound totally ignorant.

Demdem6 · 10/05/2026 08:22

id Never risk my kids to protect yours or others. Sorry, that’s not happening lol

But by not vaccinating him you are putting him at risk of serious illness or death. Not sure what you are finding to “lol” about there.

Goatymum · 10/05/2026 09:58

Andrew Wakefield was discredited and struck off. I think that tells you all you need to know.

My DS was vaccinated- he’s just about to finish uni - he is probably ND although doesn’t have a formal diagnosis but his mental health is poor, possibly as a result if being very high functioning.
i don’t believe vaccines have anything to do with this though.

The time that autistic characteristics often show is around the time the MMR is given which doesn’t mean the MMR causes autism.

To add / my father was of the view vaccines caused more harm than good in the 70s and 80s.

Consequently I wasn’t vaccinated and contracted whooping cough aged 8 - I still remember how awful it was and I am now in my 50s. I was tested for Rubella when I was pregnant w my first DC and wasn’t immune despite my father saying I’d had it as a child and didn’t need the vaccine. Load of BS. I made sure I was vaccinated once I had DD and before I got pregnant again.

The irony is re my father died as a result of contracting an illness he could’ve been vaccinated against - it was a contributory factor that no doubt led to his death.

You don’t understand why people are ‘triggered’ by this despite possibly knowing or experiencing people who have been impacted by not getting a vaccine? I find that bizarre.

That's because they don't do internet research- they should check Facebook, eBay, Insta, Vinted and Gumtree to get a balanced view.

Anonymousfivetrillion · 10/05/2026 10:15

Have you ever heard of the iron lung op? If not, I suggest you Google it. Before the polio vaccine thousands of children in the UK spent months and even years trapped in these machines because they couldn’t breathe without them.

Tryagain26 · 10/05/2026 10:22

Your partner is ignorant and spends far too much on line. People like him and those who spread such nonsense are dangerous.
They have a lot to answer for children are dying because of them and I find it very hard to forgive them.
To answer your question millions of baby boys are vaccinated and they don't develop polio. And yes I know many of them. You must know them they are all walking among us.

loislovesstewie · 10/05/2026 10:23

My mother had very poor eyesight as a result of measles at the age of 2. She wore those bottle end glasses, IYSWIM and wasn't able to learn to drive, her eyes were so poor. When I was young there were people older than me who had to use calipers to walk as a result of polio. My older friend had a useless arm also as a result of polio. In his case he was born in India and contracted it as a small child. This was before polio had a vaccination.
Countless people have been saved due to vaccines. To refuse to vaccinate a child is appalling. For info, what do you think about vaccinations for tetanus, or TB or diphtheria which can kill quite quickly?

Owlsintheforest · 10/05/2026 10:26

Nanny0gg · 10/05/2026 09:43

everyone SHOULD make an informed decision based on their own personal situation. Everyone else SHOULD refrain from insults and labelling as that is unhelpful.

icepop2 · 10/05/2026 10:27

DS was due his MMR when the whole thing blew up so I delayed them and have no regrets about it. He was autistic anyway! Now working very successfully as a software engineer.

I don't trust the government to know what they're talking about either OP - remember the minister who fed his daughter beef during the whole BSE thing - and big pharma and many other organisations have their own agendas.

What did convince me though was that Japan stopped the MMR but the numbers of children with ASD stayed the same. I prefer to see proper positive research like that than just Wakefield being discredited - maybe get your OH to have a look at that. I wouldn't push vaccines on anyone (as many would here) but you want to make a properly informed decision.

Way too many comments for me to read on this great day lol sorry but I can’t spend all day reading these from angry women lool

weve made the decision NOT to vaccinate our son when he’s here and my mind won’t be changing. I won’t be reading any comments on this post now but feel free to keep sending for others that may want to read lol

No one cares what you’ve decided. Your risk

Take your chances but it’s a stupid/ needless risk to take. I hope your child does not pay the ultimate price
