hedgepig · 24/06/2008 16:38

thanks Mrs B, I didn't want to go too low below 40 cos then I have to leave this thread sob! Pls help your self to cake and cheesy footballs I just found some at the back of the cupboard.

My DH has just come home from work complaining of a sore foot -- I told him it is a bunion (I'm pretty sure it is) I never knew blokes got them I thought they were related to wearing high pointy shoes! hmmmmm maybe I need to sit him down and have a long talk.

mrsboogie · 24/06/2008 17:05

mmmm cake. 'tis my pregnancy vice (apart from the 2 weeks when I thought I might have GD)yum yum yum, lemon drizzle, victoria sponge and coffee cake. better than that thing... that thing some couples do - ohh what's it called..l ah yes sex I remember now.

hedgepig · 24/06/2008 17:38

sex really couples do that sort of thing Cake is much better and you don't get a wet patch on the bed! I'm actually going out tonight I must go and tart myself up. Hope they have good puddings

mrsboogie · 24/06/2008 17:44

have a great night!!

johnworf · 24/06/2008 17:48

....reminds me, DH keeps asking me if he still has to wait until Xmas for conjungals Not made up my mind yet. Like mrsboogie, would rather have cake (said in Homer Simpson voice).

Bought some angel cake today so shall send hedgepig a slice in the post

hotmama · 24/06/2008 17:48

Just an update after my CVS.

Had my final results today and chromosome count and structure are all fine - phew!

Also found out the sex! After having 2dd's and am now having ds1 - what do you do with boys!

Am excited - although I didn't care just wanted a healthy dc.

(Relieved and happy hotmama - hopefully can now relax until 41 weeks plus - knowing that I cook dc's well!)

Hope you are all well.

hedgepig · 24/06/2008 18:51

hotmamma boys are fine. Much more physical than girls as far as I can see (only on ds) they just need a good run every day (just like puppies). They also seem to like shooting things regardless of whether you are a guns are OK or absolutely no guns house. Congrats on the CVS results

jeanjeannie · 24/06/2008 20:15

Hedgepig....HAPPY BIRTHDAY...OOoo, had I known I'd have drawn a card and sent it into Cbeebies! Sooo glad you're joining me at 42....wasn't it the meaning of life according to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy..?! Cheers for the cake....*smeers it over face..MMmmm

hotmama Phew...how FAB...all clear AND a boy. Nope, no idea what you do with those...think they run around alot and you can smell the testosterone from about 18mths

Sex not sure about that...we sometimes fancy it...but with two under two by the time we get chance we've lost all inclination. Cake and sleep always seem a better option

Minniethemoocher · 24/06/2008 20:23

hedgepig - Happy Birdy Choo Choo!!!

hotmama - great news on the CVS

Hmmm, cake, sweet, nourishing cake (said in voice of Homer Simpson!) Make mine a coffee and walnut please!

johnworf - hoping that you get the milk sorted out with the hospital, and you are right, she IS your baby and you have every right to make a fuss!

pwcbird - glad that you are feeling better.

pwcbird · 24/06/2008 21:07

Hello,
Quick one - mad busy today.
hedgepig Felicitanos Muchos Birthdayos! Hurrah!
hotmama - I wondered what I would do with a boy when I found out and now have DS (nearly 2) and wouldn't change it for the world - they are a delight truly. As hedgepig says they just like to run a lot... err... that's A LOT and throw things as well and are indeed a lot like puppies because then they look at you with their puppy eyes and your Mummy heart does a double beat.
Kaz1967 I moved house 4 weeks to the day before DS was born and was near hysteria but completely understand the need to just get to where you want to be. I just wanted to get in the house, whatever it was going to be like and actually it was ok - but you need friends/family there to help. If you've got that you'll be ok

Kaz1967 · 25/06/2008 08:03

pwcbird Thanks I have made the decision to take up Sue's offer. Yep there is friction between her and her husband but he is actually the one who suggested getting me, I actually like the bloke although I think he acts like a prat some of the time.

It might give him the push to get a new job because he is unhappy where he is as he is tied to coming home early x numbers of days a week go collect his daughter from school and now because there will be someone else there to do child care. It also means he will be able to go out with his new woman and not be stuck to the house at the weekends which is what a lot of the arguments are about he is less than reliable at times.

Might even give him the impetus to get a place of his own which would please Sue and her eldest who sadly has his dad really summed up although they do get on as Sue has done a fantastic job of maintaining their relationship and making sure he knows it is not his problem it is hers and his fathers.

kaz1967 that must be so weird.. 'It also means he will be able to go out with his new woman and not be stuck to the house at the weekends'....

I can't imagine living with my soon to be ex and he's got another woman lined up and going out with her. Crikey. It's all a bit confuzzled.

Kaz1967 · 25/06/2008 09:19

It is weird I could not live with it I would have done him serious damage if he was my husband (he had an affair after every one of her children and when her father died suddenly he is a baby and needs constant attention and ego massage ) She made the decision she did because of childcare needs (if he is living there he cannot opt out as easily) and there have been things going on in the kids lives and financially (he was made bankrupt last year so finding somewhere to live would be problematic). I respect her decision on how to deal with things it is her life but she knows how I feel about it. My concerns are her because she was just so stressed a few months back and is now so skinny cos she was not eating, and the one kids who when he goes off on one gets it in the neck (and he does not need it he is a sensitive sole because of past history and needs and looks up to his Dad) and his youngest a girl who he spoils and is a nightmare.

But he is always better with me there and he will to some extent be getting what he wants so out of everyone's hair

hello all. quiet on here today. Am feelin v hot and bothered. Very humid where I am. feel like a pregnant lump today Fed up of work at the mo.

sigh.

time for cake nethinks...

hedgepig · 25/06/2008 20:16

I'm hot too Mrs B I am praying for a cool summer for a change!
My hayfever is going nuts today. I've been alright for most of the summer so far. I need to make a Drs appointment to see if there is anything i can take but I think antihistamines are out of the window. I've been paying for my night out yesterday I've been totally worn out today. I've just had a realization how may projects I need to get finished before I go and I am stating to panic.

mrsboogie · 25/06/2008 20:22

I am praying for a cool summer - also starting to think abut winding down soon - had to absolutely drag myself out of bed this morning. Got a massive thing on mid -July then its easy street from there - I hope

hedgepig · 25/06/2008 20:32

I carried my DS through the summer of 2003 (hottest on record) and it was no fun.
I am really torn with work one half of me is away with the faeries and the other half wants to get everything sorted and in good order so my colleges don't take my name in vain when I open the files while I'm off.

mrsboogie · 25/06/2008 21:06

eeek yep, the filing. I do not want people not being able to find things when I am gone and moaning about me. I deleted 600 emails today as I couldn't be arsed to sort them for filing . only about 3000 to go

But I am the same - could easily chuck a sickie some days but won't because I don't want my boss thinking I am tekkin t'piss. So half the time working hard and the other half mooching on the net and mumsnetting...

johnworf · 26/06/2008 08:35

sings ...it's a cruel, cruel, summer........

but not for me as I've dispensed with the tents and clown pants that served as part of my maternity wardrobe and I'm back in civvies Not long now girls.

I rang diabetes centre y'day to try and tie in my post natal appointment and my GTT. Instead, I'm back pricking my fingers tomorrow New meter for me and random blood testing. See how it goes...but for time being no GTT needed as I'll be monitoring.

I KNEW it'd be too good to last.....sighs

jeanjeannie · 26/06/2008 09:56

Cheers johnworf now i'm singing 'Cruel Summer', thinking I'm outta Bananarama! Quick, pass me a rag, I need to tie back my hair!

Mmmm, I'm also back in civvies..BUT my tummy has gone, leaving HUGE thighs and bum Where did they come from? Would that be from the cream cake cravings...?

Everytime I read 'GTT' I think it stands for Gin & Tonic

mrsboogie 600 emails!!! Oh, they're getting like junk mail. You've reminded me of the world of work...that sinking feeling when you turn on the computer and there's a random load of work rubbish in the inbox....grrrrr. You stick to MN....quality rubbish!!!!

Very uneventful day ahead...unless you count the man from John Lewis who's coming to condem out brand new freezer as it's rubbish! bad JL, Bad. I was just about to express and freeze breast milk too....gawd, I'd been gutted if that had defrosted!

johnworf · 26/06/2008 12:31

jeanjeannie like the raggidy hair look. Very '80's.

OOOOh EBM. I have a freezer full of the stuff as well. Fortunately my freezer works though

600 emails? that's just nuts. Does no one communicate in real life these days? I'm putting my foot down with a firm hand and becoming a Luddite. (I guess that would mean no pc then?)

Anyway, no events scheduled in for me today apart from the usual hospital visit.

I'm off to see Radiohead on Sunday with DH. Very excited and I'm not even their greatest fan. Tis just an excuse to get out of the house for a few hours. Just wondering if my milk will hold out until I get home

jeanjeannie · 26/06/2008 12:41

Oh johnworf I'm ...off to see Radiohead..you're going OUT! That's why I've already started to express....get Verity used to a bottle....you WILL enjoy it darling
She's almost got the hang of it...and once that's sorted...DP and I can leave the house and leave the DC with his ace babysitter sister

We're going to the sheepdog trials next month...does that count as 'getting out'
I know I'll come back wanting a border collie!

johnworf · 26/06/2008 13:47

jeanjeannie Yep, I've worked out the escape plan. I'll send you a copy if you want

I'm opposite to you in that I'll be happy just to BF rather than arse around sterilising stuff, waiting for the milk to come out, bottles, etc etc etc.

OOh sheep dogs. Cute. One of the nurses who looks after Katherine shows/breeds border collies - amazing the info you can squeeze out of a nurse We only have a rather stupid cocker spaniel who is currently in the dog house for leaving me a poo this morning You can have him if you like. I can post him to you
