Just back from my GP check up - all looking good. I’ve really bad back pain the last few days and he reckons I might have pulled something. Recommended exercises and a birthing ball

Oh it will fly now, soon be in single didgets haha.

I was convinced he would be ere by now xxx

Happy new year.. Anyone else due end of Dec now looking at a January baby? I was due December 28th. 😪
I was 8 days overdue with my first and I have a sweep on the second so she will hopefully be here within the next week.. So tired and fed up but on the other hand glad we managed to avoid Christmas day!

@IForgotTheApricotJam i was the opposite in that I was due on the 4th Jan and had baby on 15 December. Fingers crossed your sweep gets things moving

I keep getting cramps and period pains in the evening but then it fizzles out after a couple hours, hopefully a sign my body is preparing though.
Feeling very heavy down below and can feel baby is head down as well from the hiccups. Ah hope your 2nd sweep does the trick.

Hello everyone! I’ve been quiet on here recently. Many congratulations to those of you that have welcomed babies already! So exciting. I’m 37 weeks on Sat and really feeling the pelvis pressure and braxton hicks and this evening I noticed pinky discharge so will call the triage tomorrow first thing as it maybe could be the bloody show?! I’ve been experiencing lightening crotch too. C section is scheduled for the 15th Jan but who knows - baby’s head is down already and I am constantly needing a wee it is the worst!! Anyway - I will keep you all posted. Happy new year and happy baby month!

got my sweep soon praying it starts things. I have woke up more achy in the back today and the sweats wow I feel so sweaty today xxx

Yeah he’s getting on really well, thank you. And In the mist of cluster feeding currently. Feel like he’s always on my boob 😅 and yeah we got home 31st December so day after the section.

@Sunshinemoom I did I went in today and cervix was closed. They had to do a swab with a speculum which was no fun! I’ve actually had some bleeding after that though but perhaps it’s from cervix being irritated after the swab. I have fibroids too and one of them is right by the cervix so the obstetrician said it is likely to be that. Hopefully Bebe stays put until the 15th!!!

Just a load of false labour contractions!! Gutted was really hopful this evening but everything has seemed to tail off now. Xxx

@PinkFlamingo888 how were you getting on with expressing colostrum after? Did the amount improve?
I’ve just tried for the first time and whilst I wasn’t expecting much I literally barely had a drop, not even worth wasting a syringe on 😅
Probably didn’t help that DH came in unexpectedly and disturbed my peace 😂

Ah thanks for asking, I had the sweep yesterday was 1cm dilated.. I did get a large amount of yellow discharge after which might have been my mucous plug and was very crampy with the odd contraction (also went to the toilet a lot more than normal and had a proper clear out) but things have calmed down since.
I've got a 2nd sweep booked on Monday but hoping things will pick up a bit by then as I will be 41 weeks.. Fingers crossed. Last time I went into labour at night so maybe it will be the same this time around. It does feel like I'm in slow early labour, but I had this for weeks with my first so may be looking at an Induction soon.

I’ve not done it very consistently but have had about 0.1mg each time I’ve tried. The midwife said the syringe can stay in the fridge for 6 days so you can keep adding to that if you’re only getting a small amount.
I think if you try daily, more and more will come but I feel like there’s so much to do that I’m not finding the time!
I think I’ll have a bath shortly and then see if I can get some more after!

Yeah I agree it seems very time consuming for the output you get 😅 I’ll try again later as well. I did have a warm compress but I think I’ll try and be a bit more relaxed and hopefully it will help!
Thats good to know about keeping it in the fridge. I had a little table about how long it lasts at different temps but didn’t realise you could combine over a few days..
I think I’ve been influenced by the people I’ve seen on social media who have piles of full syringes and need to accept that’s not reality much like everything else you see on SM 🙄

I’m due on 15th Jan. midwife said about starting at 36-37 weeks but I wanted a 2026 baby 😂 don’t know why I was worrying about it because she seems very high and comfortable still so I doubt expressing would have done anything anyway! When are you due?

Talking about colostrum, the midwife told me to harvest it to prompt labour but I just crnt get any out!! A tiny drop thats it!

Ive been for a nice walk today to brighten my mood and to see if that brings anything on, I dont think I was this impatient with my first! Xxx

@Confusedmermaid1 yeah sm is definitely a lie 😂 or they’re just wayyy better at this than me! It’s annoying though as I’ve had leaky boobs for ages, but as soon as I can collect it, it feels like it’s died right down!
I'm due 20th which still feels so far away but I’m not sure whether I’m just in denial that I actually need to give birth!
Can’t wait to have my womb back though to be fair. It’s lovely to know they’re ok in there but I’d love to put my own socks on again!

Was 6 hours there!! Kidney function has improved but as BP is still borderline I’ve to go back Monday at 12.30 to do it all again 😫😫

Oh god! Glad they are keeping a eye on you! If bp still high what r they thinking? Preclampsia? How many weeks are you again? Xxx

My hormones are turning me into a stroppy teenager with a attitude problem 😒 I am beyond pissed off. I think people just dont help by constantly messaging and saying stupid stuff like they are dr google, just because im 3 days over due! Or family members you dont speak to from dp side messaging saying dont have him on this date because its such a person's birthday! Like seriously I would fart him out right now if I could hahahahha!! Urghh am just so over it. Also midwife tomorrow I will be refusing the sweep again, find them disheartening and not worth it xxx

Yes they have been keep an eye for preeclampsia all pregnancy as I’ve a couple of risk factors - age, first baby, ivf baby. Was on aspirin until 36 weeks. I’ve no other signs just the BP. They told me to get a home BP machine so I can test at home when not in the hospital. I’m 38 + 3 so I reckon they will just keep bringing me back until they aren’t comfortable with the BP anymore

As if you can control when he comes 🙄😫

Just back from this appointment and they are going to bring me in on Thursday for an induction 🙈😱
