Other thread is full already! Ive to head out but feel free to tag others, if not I can do it when back

Just back from my GP check up - all looking good. I’ve really bad back pain the last few days and he reckons I might have pulled something. Recommended exercises and a birthing ball

I had Callie’s developmental check up this week. She is flying - 5.96kg now, head is 41cm and a length of 63cm!!

She is another one who doesn’t like tummy time, I said it to the nurse and she said as she has great head control then not to worry too much about it.

She isn’t fully rolling over but rolls on to her side in bed at night so I say she will get there soon.

On the weaning, she is the same - dying to eat and follows us when we do. Nurse said I can start weaning from 17 weeks so 2 weeks to go. She will be delighted 😂😂

Anyone else having to deal with heat rash? Callie’s skin seems very sensitive to heat, doc said it’s just heat rash but sometimes her whole tummy any arms are covered. I am hoping she grows out of it but my skin is the same so there is a chance she doesn’t 🙈

Yeah it’s done wonders. It helped so much. He’s definitely being sick less. He definitely loving eating with us at dinner. Oh that’s so cute! Like why aren’t you feeding me now. yeah you know when he’s ready to eat.

oh I hope you have the best time. We going to wales in June! We also brought a travel pushchair! Makes him look so grown up in it.

yeah we’ve been I. A travel cot for about 5 weeks yeah he massive. He also in 6-9 months. I’ve started to put him in his cot in the evening to sleep for a bit while I get 5 minutes peace. Then bring him into my room when I go bed. Yeah they grow out baby grows way too quickly!! Atlas is currently in footless bay grows atm 😅 need to get him weighed again soon. He was 7.1KG 3 odd weeks ago. He’s over taken a lot of my friends babies who are 6/7 months older than him! Xxx

Oh we go in June too! Hoping the weather bes kind haha. And as for the push chair harry looks so old in it ha he loves it tho because he can fully nose about!

Atlas sounds like hes loving the food, how did u start him off i feel like ive forgot haha need to get my research on haha.

I havnt had harry weighed since he was 10 weeks old but I can definitely feel hes gone heavier. But lugging him round all day has gave me some upper body strength had no problem lifting the new garden stuff in the car today haha got home and my partner was like did somone have to put that in the car for you ahha.

I need to sort our spare room out im planning on keeping harry in with us for quite some time. Dont no why ds1 was kicked out at 4 months bless him he was way to noisy of a sleeper. Still is now ahha. Xxx

Oh so exciting. Yes hopefully weather holds out for us both. Yeah Atlas is the same can be nosy. So he loves it.

yeah he really is. And started with single veg purees so he had sweet potatoe, carrots avocado and peas so far. Just a few mouthfuls. When he older I’ll start making the purees more lumpy and when he gets to 6-7 months I’ll move to blw. I did the exact same with my older boy. Don’t forget you can sign up to the Ella kitchen weaning pack. Which is free.

the only reason atlas been weighed. Is everything I request his meds the drs need a current weigh to check if his dosages is still the same. Don’t need gym building up your upper body strength with Harry! It’s so funny how strong you and become holding baby.

yeah I’ll keep him in the travel cot in our room for a while. Just want to get him used to his own room and cot at the same time. My older boy co slept with me until he was 3 🙈 this time round I’m like nope you be in your own bed 😅 xxx

We are seriously struggling with sleep over here… I’m assuming the first sleep regression is happening (15 weeks tomorrow)
She’s up pretty much every hour after midnight unless she’s sleeping on one of us, even that only gives us 90mins-2hrs. She’s refusing to sleep in the next to me, her eyes ping open as soon as she goes down and no amount of shushing, patting and stroking helps get her back to sleep in there.
It probably doesn’t help that I’ve had to stop swaddling in the middle of the chaotic nights because she rolled back to front in bed! (I think anyway, I’m half convinced I hallucinated it but she does manage to get to her side at least)
I’ve brought her into bed with me which I don’t love even following lullaby trust safe sleeping guidelines so I don’t sleep very soundly and last night she even refused that, she had to be on my chest.
She wasn’t a brilliant sleeper before but I’d manage a 3hr stretch then two 2hrs most nights, sometimes even 4hrs, this is just torture as by the time I’ve settled her back to sleep I’m lucky to get 20-40mins 😭
Breastfeeding so even though DH is trying to share some of the load it is mainly on me as she has refused a bottle so far.

One year ago today I had the embryo transfer that resulted in Callie 🥰🥰

Aww that sounds so tough! Its soul destroying through the night isnt it because you just crave to go asleep!

I think the only way to get through is just keep thinking this phase will soon pass because 9 times out of 10 they do! My first was terrible would walk the floors for what seemed like hours for him to wake again and you would just want to cry.

You'll get there!

But I would double check the rooms not too hot or too cold that can distrupt sleep also if shes been ust to swaddling thats probably abit of a change too.

I feel for you xxx

WanderWalker · 29/04/2026 19:37

@Confusedmermaid1 so sorry to hear this and sending you a big hug. It’s awful when they don’t sleep in the night and it feels relentless, like there isn’t an end in sight. I know it doesn’t offer much comfort but as @Jadeypie said it does get better and eventually pass which seems unlikely when you are living in it.
I swore I would never Co sleep, but we went through a phase of zero sleep. she would be awake midnight till 6-7am and were beside ourselves. I co slept safely as per the guidance until the phase passed and then put her back in her own crib once she was ready. Its a horrible phase 😓

Confusedmermaid1 · 29/04/2026 19:52

I’m hoping it does pass quickly but I’ve scared myself reading that this goes on for months for some people 🫠
She has had slightly longer naps today (one was 1.5hrs which felt like a miracle 😂 though obviously it was while I was wearing her so no sleep for me 😂) so I’m hoping for a slightly more settled night
I’m not sure if I’m napping her too late in the day but if she doesn’t have the last nap then her previous one is usually ending around 4-5pm so it feels like too long a wake window until bedtime and she’s overtired and screaming. I usually try to limit it to 20-30 mins but I wonder if it’s doing more harm than good.. bedtime is usually 7-8pm because she will not allow me to put her down until after 9pm most days so I need to make sure I can eat something 😬 doing bedtime 6-7pm doesn’t feel doable but maybe that’s what she’s asking for which would get rid of the last nap then..

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 30/04/2026 09:35

@Confusedmermaid1 how many naps is she having a day?

Only asking as Nora is firmly in the 3 nap camp (one after school run, one around 2 hours later around midday and then another on the school run) and definitely made it clear to us that she didn’t agree that bedtime was 7-8pm. We start getting stuff ready for bed around 6.30 and she’s happily asleep by 7 most nights

Confusedmermaid1 · 30/04/2026 13:34

@Thegirlhasnamechanged usually 4 naps. She shows signs of tiredness at about 75 mins since the last nap so generally she’s sleeping by 90mins of awake time and if not she is not a happy bunny.
I can try an earlier bed time instead of the last nap but it’s just hard because generally she’s only happy sleeping on us and not going in the cot until late.. no harm in trying though I suppose, I’ve got quite skilled at eating one handed 😂 just not usually in the dark 😅
She won’t sleep downstairs at all in the evenings, she wants dark, white noise and the red night light 😅

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 30/04/2026 14:22

@Confusedmermaid1 oh that sounds tricky. We EBF and I feed her to sleep on my side before sneakily transferring her to the next to me. Gets me at least the opportunity to eat with both a knife and fork 😂

Confusedmermaid1 · 30/04/2026 14:40

@Thegirlhasnamechanged I need to persevere with getting her in the next to me earlier really.. I let her sleep on me until I can guarantee a transfer because it feels like it’s not worth the battle but if it helps overall night sleep we will have to power through

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 16/05/2026 20:14

Hand has been forced (by her rolling over what felt like every ten seconds) and we’ve retired the carry cot on the travel system for the actual pushchair seat. It reclines and can be used from birth and is definitely still parent facing but 😭 growing up too fast. You’d think I’d be prepared with Nora being my third but I would be lying if I said I didn’t well up a bit lol

We’ve changed ours too 😭 I was not ready but Robyn has a stinking cold and couldn’t tolerate being flat on her back in the carry cot (or in her bed.. send help we’re exhausted 😅) She loves it though and the fact she can be nosy has meant much fewer tears when she wakes up from a nap in the pram. She looks like a tiny baby in the pram compared to the carry cot 😭 even though she’s already filling out 6-9 month clothes 🫠

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 17/05/2026 07:05

@Confusedmermaid1 oh yes definitely loves having a nose! Still in 3-6 stuff here but agree on them looking so tiny in the seat. The foot muff doesn’t even reach around her waist 😭

How is everyone on this bank holiday? Hope babies are coping with the heat.

I’ve had the biggest shock this weekend and found out my pregnant again 🙈 due January 2027. My partner booked in for his Vasectomy and we were using condoms in the meantime. So we both very shocked right now!

I hate the heat (sorry to sun lovers, I’m ginger so it doesn’t agree with me 😂) so we’ve put foil on the windows that face the sun in an attempt to keep the house cool 🫠 the dog isn’t happy, he loves laying in the sun whether inside or outside..

Congratulations!! April is a good month for you 😂

Oh I get it. I like the heat by the sea in other countries. Not here it’s to muggy 🙈 is the foil helping? I’m scared to try that if it makes the glass to hot and crack haha. What dog breed do you have? We have a French bulldog and he would lay in the sun all day if I let him.

thank you! Such a big shock! And yeah obviously so 🤣🤣

I only saw about the possibility of cracking after we had done it already a few times! We haven’t had any issues so far..
He’s a pomsky (Pomeranian x husky) so should be a winter dog but he would literally fry himself if he was allowed 🙄😂 I do worry about him overheating as he’s getting older (and carrying a bit more weight than he should be)
My mum has frenchies, she’s constantly trying to keep them cool because they’re susceptible to the heat and they also try to bake themselves 😂
