Just back from my GP check up - all looking good. I’ve really bad back pain the last few days and he reckons I might have pulled something. Recommended exercises and a birthing ball

Hey. How is everyone doing? Has anyone babies also for reflux? I found Atlas hit 12 weeks and it’s really ramped up again even with omeprazole not sure if peaking? I’m going to book drs when we’re back off holiday to see if he needs his dosing upped.

Hi, breastfed baby dc2 here, both my babies had reflux.
It has been worse in the morning when my milk supply is highest, she takes in a bit too much so she spews the extra milk out. So maybe check you are not over feeding, I think I was guilty of giving my first more than he needed when most of the time he just wanted soothing, he had cow and gate carobel in his bottles which seemed to help as gaviscon made him constipated.
What's been working for me so far is holding her up for 20-40 minutes after a feed, as if I lay her down straight away she will be sick. The newborn days were the worst as I had to hold her for a long time and then by the time it had settled she needed a feed again. Now I've been able to get it down to 15-20 minutes at 3 months, she will take a bottle at 8 o clock, then have a small breastfeed around 10. Also her snuzpod is on a slight incline which has helped. 😊
It's a nightmare but if I remember correctly it gets a lot better once they start on solids and are sitting up more so hang in there.

The wondered if I was overfeeding so dropped a oz still got the same issue. Yeah we tried thickening his milk and he got constipated so we stopped the same with baby gaviscon. The omeprazole had been working it it’s just been the last few days all of a sudden it’s back to how it was on those newborn days having to keep him upright for over a hour after a feed or it all comes back up. Thankfully he’s happy in himself. Yeah both HV and GP said if it’s still bad when he is four months, I could potentially wean early to help his symptoms. I’ll call the GP today to see if the omeprazole needs upping due to his weight! Thank you!!

We had a free photo shoot at Max Spielmann today, so cute! I was shocked they didn’t pressure us to buy anything else and were happy to just give us the free print (you can buy more if you so wish)
It was a really nice experience
You get a free one for every quarter of their first year
It says online you have to print the voucher which I did but left it at home but they were happy to take my word for it 😂
Don’t get much for free these days and who doesn’t love a freebie on mat pay 😅

Happy Easter ladies 🐣
Easter Sunday last year I spent alone with a nice dinner and a bottle of wine as my friend had gone away and I didn’t go as I was about to start my 4th IVF round. This Easter Sunday I get to spend it with the outcome of that 4th round 😁💕

We are moving to the big girl cot tonight 🙈
Put her in it earlier to get the baby monitor positioned right, she was tired so left her there to see what happened and she fell asleep. The longest she’s napped in the last few weeks is 30 minutes - she slept for 2 hours 🤣🤣

Good luck! Hope it goes well! Atlas is in a travel cot in my room as he out grew his snuzpod but he loves it!

Aww look at her!!

Objectiontime · 13/04/2026 16:50

Lovely pictures. My little lady is a really gassy girl!! She loves a good, loud cry too. It can go on for a long time and nothing seems to help. That said, she has started to smile and is angelic when she is calm, which is quite rare!! 🤣

Confusedmermaid1 · 13/04/2026 20:09

@Objectiontime mine struggles with gas as well. She’s waking so frequently through the night with it. Not sure what else to try! Infacol is the only thing she will take and that isn’t particularly willingly. I can barely get a burp out through the night though (she’s EBF). I’m trying to keep her upright after feeds and we do all the leg cycles and things before bed and when I change her nappy in the night.

I’ve gone dairy free in case it’s CMPA which I think is unlikely as she’s not having mucus/blood in her stools. I’ll give anything a go at this point 😴

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 13/04/2026 20:23

I forgot just how much drool such a small person can produce. We managed a bib an hour today.

Sunshinemoom · 13/04/2026 20:30

Hope everyone is doing ok. I think Atlas is starting to teeth mixed in with 4 month regression we’re not getting a lot of sleep over here. He’s only wanting to sleep on me nd dad again 😩 I know it doesn’t last forever. We also found out last week he may have a mild milk intolerance as he’s so congested still, his reflux is bad and he keeps coming up in a rash on and off which they thought originally was eczema. The GP advised us to stay on HIPP organic as when we tried him on Hydrolysed milk his rash became so much worse. He ended up in urgent care with it. The gp happy as he’s gaining weight well and is so happy in himself overall! They have said we can start weaning end of this month to see if it helps at all. My first born was cmpa but his was so much worse than I never thought of Atlas congestion being a sign of it potentially!

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 15/04/2026 08:54

Hard to believe my little poorly newborn is 4 months old today. She’s very much 50th centile for weight and height but seems so big compared to where my other two were at this age. Her giggles have started and my heart is fit to burst

… though if the school holidays could finish now (I’ve enjoyed them but bring on Monday when they are back) so she could get a decent nap again that’d be great. Baby has major FOMO

Edited

It is very hard isnt it. She is a darling and gives beautiful smiles when she isnt gassy. I just hate seeing her in such pain. Taken her for a couple of sessions with osteopath who has recommended pediatric chiropractors for any digestion issues. Not sure about it, as I have read mixed views but I'm going to give it a go. I am allergic to milk and breast feeding so her symptoms cant be anything related to a milk allergy. Infacol seems to help her release gas but, judging by her crying, I think it makes the pain worse. Gripe water does nothing. She is not a napper either. Will report back re the chiropractic.

Confusedmermaid1 · 16/04/2026 13:46

@Objectiontime I find infacol makes her more sicky and she hasn’t been a sicky baby before really. I’m not sure it’s very effective. She hates gripe water and you have to give so much of it in one dose that it wasn’t worth the battle. I’ve heard good things about coleif but if you’re EBF I think it’s more hassle as you have to express to mix the coleif in (and she wouldn’t take that without a fight either). That’s good at least that you can rule out CMPA! Been thinking about exploring that route as she was a c section baby and I’m wondering if she still has some tension from that. Let us know how you get on!

Hi, sorry for the delay in coming back. The appointment went really well and she seemed to enjoy it. She gave the person doing it numerous smiles during the session. She has definitely improved, in that she is crying less and easier to calm when she does cry.starting to spend a little more time napping during the day too. Her head is more wobbly now which I think is a good thing as there is less tension in her neck. Will be going regularly for the next month and will see how we go but definitely making a difference I think.

Hi ladies hope youse are all doing well and the babas are thriving! I crnt believe my little one is 4 months next week! (Who looks six months) How the hell did that happen haha.

His skin has improved so much since coming off cows milk and hes a absolute little delight. His new favourite thing is fake coughing for attention and growling hahs. The teething is starting also he just wants to bite everything and anyone and the slobber wow hahs.

God the way the time is flying we will all be at the weaning stage soon.

I got a buggy for when we go on holiday and I just feel like all the baby stage is going too quick. Im not ready haha xxx

Jadeypie · 24/04/2026 13:38

Also anyone els baby just not arsed about rolling? Harry likes to do sit ups instead hahs. My first never rolled either (he does now haha) xx

WanderWalker · Yesterday 00:25

@Jadeypie aw he sounds like a happy little boy 😊 glad he seems to be doing better since changing his milk.

My little one was 4 months on Wednesday and she’s not rolling either. She seems to be able to spin herself by kicking her legs at the speed of light and arching her back. She hates Tummy time! She just puts her head down and lays down flat like ‘nope not doing it’ 🤣 but has strong head control in any other position. Oh and she also does the fake coughing for attention too!

I agree it’s passing way too quickly! X

Hey. It doesn’t seem possible we have 4 month olds next week. Where is time going.

so happy his skin as improved!! Oh how funny. Atlas loves eating his hands as well. And we in the shouty stage if he can’t see me 😅 we have started weaning already. His reflux was so bad. The drs gave us the go ahead. He loves food 😅

where are you going on holiday?

Atlas can roll but he’s so lazy he does spin himself around when he’s on his tummy. It’s so funny to watch! Xx
