A Friend recommended this site to me and I've been browsing for a while now - you are all SOOOOOOO friendly and supportive that I've plucked up the courage to join.
So many sad stories and so many happy outcomes. My fingers are crossed for you all.
This is my 5th PG in 4 years but no baby-prize yet. This is the furthest I've gone at 15 weeks so extremely tentative, anxious and as for knicker checking...Lets just say I had a bleed at 11 weeks & DH followed me to the loo for a fortnight ha ha!

Someone was asking about "next steps" after 3 MC (can't find the thread - been reading a while now) - the scan I had was to check for PCOS and blocked Ov's. Also at my EPAC I was told to take baby aspirin (75mg) as soon as I found out I was PG as there can be an increase in antiphospholipid syndrome once HCG levels go up - check with hospital as they may have already checked your blood for this. I started taking it this time & have got this far now but have to take until week 35 - VERY tiny price to pay, I think.

LONG chat for a newbie - got carried away!

Hope to join in more now

Jules - she is gorgeous and I want one even more now...she is so so tiny!!
Squarebear, welcome and well done at 15 weeks - everything crossed for you!!
I am waiting for 12 week scan next wed with trepidation - a big help is all the success stories here. Fingers crossed x

Tinamoo · 17/07/2008 20:35

Hi All,

I thought I would introduce myself. I am Tina married to a sailor (for my sins).

I have a four year old daughter called Sofia. I had a horrible pregnancy with her, I bled throughout and nobody could guarantee I would not lose her so it was really stressful.

I had a missed miscarriage last year. Then I got pregnant again and had another missed miscarriage in May.

I have had one period since and have just this week found out I am pregnant again. This is the quickest I have ever got pregnant.

It is really early days. I am 4 +4 at the moment. I am trying not to get excited as I am worried about losing this one too. I am trying my best to forget that I am pregnant but I am not doing a good job!

I have not told anybody yet apart from my husband and one good online friend. No idea when to tell people. I am sure I will not be able to keep my mouth shut for 3 months if it all is going well! lol

Hope to speak to you all soon!!

LackaDAISYcal · 17/07/2008 20:40

hi tina

I've just posted on your other thread directing you here, but see jules has beaten me to it...and her with a newborn baby to look after an all

Welcome to the thread; tis a great place to share, rage, cry and vent as necessary. We've all been through it and can understand and empathise with your fears; no matter how irrational they can seem to people in RL.

"Healthy and well" is out little mantra here; keep saying it to yourself in your spare moments

Hi Squarebear and Tinamoo - welcome to the thread and hope you enjoy all the support and advice.
SB - 15+ weeks is great, hang in there with us {smile]
TM - you will have many MNers crossing their fingers for you - I had 2 mc last year and remember the first few weeks of this pg seeming to take ages!

Squarebear1973 · 17/07/2008 21:51

Hi Tinamoo - I'm a newbie here too! I know what you mean about keeping it quiet - its so difficult. We only told family at 11 weeks & that was only because I ended up in hospital. I'd known I was PG for 5 weeks and it felt like FOREVER before we told anyone!! We've only just started telling non-family this week after 5th scan as I was convinced it wouldn't be waving - but it was!
Fingers crossed for you
Because of history, get in touch with your local EPAC or EPU as they should be able to do you a scan at 7 weeks, which takes the pressure off a little. I've been so anxious I've actually had 3 scans with them! At the end of the day, you've got to reduce your anxiety and if that means havibng a scan every couple of weeks in the early stages, so be it.
I'm lucky that my local EPAC was v understanding and didn't turn us away once. Give them a call!! And good luck!

splishsplosh · 17/07/2008 22:02

Welcome to Tina and Squarebear - I only had 1 m/c, but that was bad enough, and made it impossible to believe things would be OK this time round.
Re telling people - I did tell friends and family quite early because I reckoned that if i miscarried again, I'd want lots of support and sympathy etc, so there was no point not telling.
Anyway, I'll be 30 weeks this weekend, and just about believe it all now - though now I'm starting to worry about things again, especially as dd was quite ill when she was born, so more anxieties to cope with....

Tinamoo · 17/07/2008 23:01

Thank you for all your kind messages. My nephew was born today so I am really glad that I am pregnant because I don't feel as jealous.

When I had my last miscarriage my sister-in-law was pregnant she had a little girl last July. It sent me right back to where I was when I first miscarried in the February of last year. I am glad I am not feeling like that with my brothers baby.

I will tell family soonish but not sure when because like splishsplosh said I would like the support of my family if anything did happen. For me I feel like I am keeping a massive secret from them. I don't honestly know what their reaction will be this time.

I know however I will not be telling anyone else until after 3 months.

I have felt quite sick today which I found encouraging. As I did not feel too bad with my previous pregnancies and yet felt and was sick for the whole of the first 3 months when I was pg with my little girl.

elibumbum · 18/07/2008 09:05

Congratulations to sweetkitty .

Hello and welcome to Tinamoo and Squarebear congratulations on your pgs.

perkypopsy · 18/07/2008 17:14

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY for Jules and sweetkitty fab fab news!
Great to see herby, kate and gilly* - how are you doing ladies??
Have just looked at the list and there are 7 names ahead of mine YIKES Thought was going in to early labour on Thursday but turns out is a UTI - can't believe I missed it as am usually ridled with them - everything feels different when PG!
30 weeks on Monday - though am now counting other way round so that is 10 weeks . getting equally nervous and excited about the BIG PUSH
off to mamas and papas tomoz to do some retail therapy
have a good weekend everyone

perkypopsy · 18/07/2008 17:15

p.s. have been worrying about my (.)(.) and breast feeding - I must be the only person in world whose have stayed same size (small!) - will I be able to do it???

DonDons · 18/07/2008 17:21

just sticking my beak in to say congratulations to Jules! She's lovely - well done you! So nice to see the old knicker checkers graduating. DD is 12 weeks today - time flies.

Best wishes to all of you on here.

(Popsy - size is not a problem - try not to worry)

LackaDAISYcal · 18/07/2008 17:26

oooh, I missed sweetkitty's news.

Congratulations SK and Mr SK

I missed squarebear as well....hi there and welcome to the thread . fingers crossed that you are over the worst and that it's plain sailing from now on. I can only imagine the heartache you have gone through to get to this point

jules, hope the feeding is going better and the BP settles down soon. some info on increasing supply using galactogogues here. Kellymom is a fantastic resource for all BFing queries. It's top of my favourites list.

perkypospy (ha ha i get your name now ) the size of your boobs doesn't have any bearing on your ability to BF. You'll be fine; thinking positively is half the battle ime. And they will probably increase once your milk comes in. Mine stayed pretty small when I was pregnant with DS (my first), and I only went up a couple of sizes round the band as my ribs expanded. Afterwards though.....well suffice to say I had no idea you could get stretch marks on your boobs

OP posts:
elibumbum · 18/07/2008 20:00

Perkypopsy you don't need massive boobs to breast feed so please don't worry that they haven't increased in size yet.

I woke up on the 3rd morning after DS was born with big rock hard boobs - I can still remember the look on DH's face when he came into my hospital room that morning . He said it was like I'd had implants over night!

elibumbum · 18/07/2008 20:03

Also there is a great book by Clare Byam-Cook called something along the lines of 'What to expect when you breastfeed and what to do if you can't'. I wish I'd known about it before I had DS.

elibumbum, I've not read that book, but I heard it wasn't that great....or maybe I'm thinking of something else?

Hi everyone, haven't posted on this thread for a while and look what happens when I don't - at least 2 babies have arrived!

Many, many congratulations to Jules and sweetkitty - great news and lovely pics! Aw, I'm so excited and there's still 10 weeks to go for me! DP and I can't wait to meet our LO (although I feel totally unprepared for it right now...)

Welcome newbies, Tina and Squarebear - lots of support on here so you are in the right place. Hope you have happy and calm pregnancies!

TJuice · 18/07/2008 22:44

hi ladies

been a long time but i am an old knicker-checker and now a graduate!

miss elodie summer was born almost seven weeks ago - pics on profile.

she's amazing. i was shocked by the quick and early birth (almost 4 weeks early and only 4 hours labour) but realised that i hadn't mentally prepared myself in many ways - maybe because of my miscarriage last year that totally rocked me to the core.

anyway, good luck to all of you. have calm, relaxed and uneventful pregnancies . . .

xoxoxox

cricri · 19/07/2008 08:00

TJuice Good to "see" you Elodie looks gorgeous. Hope everything is going well now that you've got over the shock of her early arrival and fast labour.
Jules Good for you BF in public!
Popsy I had the same worries as you re breast-feeding - my boobs haven't grown at all since I become pg! Thanks to everybody for the reassurance
Welcome to Tinamoo and Squarebear. This thread is great for support and reassurance.
Hello to everybody else

Squarebear1973 · 19/07/2008 15:53

Popsey - friend of mine went from a B cup to an A and fed her 10lb(!) DS just fine

JJ - wow! BF in public is something I'd be really nervous about, at least the 1st time. Well done

I actually felt OK to tell a few work colleagues about being PG yesterday - came as a pleasent shock to them that 15 wks - they didn't have a clue ha ha! 1 burst into tears she was so thrilled - so lovely!
I now have 6 wks of feet up to get to next scan (teacher), so couldn't have come at a better time!

Anyone done PG yoga before? Got a vid from a friend & wondered if worth doing or sticking to gently walks & swimming enough?

LackaDAISYcal · 19/07/2008 16:43

TJuice, great to hear from you

Congratualtions again and welcome Elodie (beautiful name

She is gorgeous!!

Jules, Sweetkitty & TJuice - many, many congratulations to you all. Lovely to hear happy endings.

Tinamoo and Squarebear welcome to the thread - wishing you both a healthy lenthy stay here.

OK - I haven't posted for a couple of weeks - trying to remain calm and get over some dating hurdles. I have 2 ds (12 & 11) and 3 mc last years at 8 wees, 12 weeks and 5 weeks. Now 11 plus weeks pregnant with twins. 2 of the last mc I had appointments with midwife & nuchal scans booked but never made either.

Met my midwife last weekend as I was feeling anxious and wanted to get that meeting over and still be pregnant.

I have my nuchal scan on Monday evening and am now feeling the pressure building up. Am extremely hormonal and keep crying at anything on the tv (and I mean anything ). DH is driving me mad - I know it's not him or anything he is doing I am just anxious and want to take it out on him. Keep going to bed early so I dont cause an argument when there is nothing to argue about.

Knicker-checking constantly as i am paranoid about something happening before Monday evening. Then getting terribly paranoid that they will not find the twins/will find something terribly wrong with twins.

I know that this is going to be tmi but has anybody else experienced this - every book that I read says that all pregnant women get constipated. Since day one of this pregnancy I have gone the other way - not diareah (sp?) as such but loose sorry but just once a day which is my normal. I did have terrible diareah (sp?) before 2mc so this concerns me although I seem to be doing OK so far this time. Could it be with a twin pregnancy I have more hormones that could loosen things up - I am also eating more fruit than perhaps i ever have.

I know I need to remain calm but somehow it is hard to do and need some cyber hand holding .............

splishsplosh · 19/07/2008 22:46

Minmooch - sorry to hear what a tough time you're going through right now - it's totally understandable to be so stressed, and I certainly get incredibly grumpy with everyone around me when I'm stressed too. And emotional. And you've got extra hormones swilling around with a twin pregnancy so no wonder you're feeling it even more.

I had the "loose" thing in the beginning - just first thing in the morning - I don't think it's unusual, quite a few people on our an thread had it too. Big virtual hug and hand hold for you til Monday evening

Tjuice - Elodie is beautiful. Love the name too. I understand about the shock thing - dd was a month early, and a quick labour too, and for some reason I'd been certain she'd be late, and I had loads of time, and didn't feel ready at all

Jules - Eleanor is beautiful too. Your pics made me cry too for some reason, I'll blame the hormones. Way to go re bf in public, hope it's getting easier for you now

Squarebear1973 · 20/07/2008 13:58

Minmooch - Big hugs to you & good luck for Monday. This time around I didn't book to see the MW until after 12 weeks scan, which was our 3rd scan! I was afraid that if I saw her.. well you know how it is! They then had a panic on to do the NT scan in time, but managed it.
Re constipation or not - I'm going 2 days with nothing, then very painful toilet moments (sorry girls; this is gross but hey!), then the next day quite loose, then it starts again. I asked consultant and they said it was hormones making it difficult then my increase in water and fruit that was losening it and so long as it wasn't like water, I didn't need to worry. Ask MW on Monday just to be sure

15 weeks and boobs itchy - v strange. Also no nausea but still throw up in shower or when clean teeth.
