How are you doing, @Sara237? I know we're about a week apart ... I am so impatient for the 20-week scan!

worldwidetravel2017 · 12/01/2026 21:37

dubkitten · 09/01/2026 11:06

Fingers crossed you do, you be able to relax much more in your own space

Still in hosp

Sara237 · 12/01/2026 21:48

@SarahAndQuack I'm ok thanks actually feeling so much better last few days... like you, waiting for the 20 wk scan which seems ages away and feeling bit apprehensive about whether I'll need the stitch or not once they've measured cervix. But I'm generally feeling pretty calm and trying to just take it as it comes. Work is hard ATM. I go to bed very early to recover! And I'm massive already, really obvious bump though I am apple shaped which accentuates tummy! How are you faring? Hope all is well.
@worldwidetravel2017 Sorry to hear you aren't at home where you wanted to be. I don't really know what happens to prevent early labour. Do you have to have bed rest? You must be exhausted hospitals are always so hot and loud. Hopefully you've got some peace. Sending best wishes.

We told everyone ! Ahhh I made an announcement on my socials … which I wasn’t going to do, but I feel everyone was hearing through ‘the grain vine’ from some work colleges I had told and I wanted to be the one to suprise everyone with our news and not let people know through gossip basically so I just bite the bullet and put it out there .. feels so strange and like I have done something I shouldn’t have .. I’ll be 16 weeks on Friday and our last scan was just Monday past so I am sure everything will be fine but I just feel like the pressure is more now as everyone knows and what if things don’t work out after all .. ahhh !!! I think having loses in the past , it’s just hard to think this is really happening and will be healthy etc 😵‍💫

pastelheart · 13/01/2026 08:21

Hey everyone!

sorry for the radio silence, have had so much going on but I am hoping it all calms down now… wishful thinking maybe

how is everyone?

we have our 20 week scan on Thursday and I can’t wait to see baby boy again. He was being naughty yesterday and booting me right in my cervix all day, he’s 100% getting stronger now no doubt it’s baby moving!

yay for telling everyone @AmberRose26 I got really weirded out when we put it on socials and felt so overwhelmed xx

AmberRose26 · 13/01/2026 08:43

@pastelheart best of luck for your scan on Thursday ! That’s came round so quickly 💛.. he will look so much bigger on the screen .. awh that’s amazing you are going lots of movements, I am sure av felt a few flutters but could just be gas 🤭 but I am sure it’s the start of some feelings , can’t wait till it gets a bit stronger and I’ll know for sure, hope everyone else is good and has a lovely day!

SarahAndQuack · 13/01/2026 09:10

Good luck with your scan @pastelheart! Hope all the things going on include some positives.

@Sara237 glad you're feeling better. Fingers crossed you don't need the stitch (or if you do, that it's painless!).

@worldwidetravel2017, I really hope you get home soon! Remind me how many weeks you are now? Are they looking after you well?

@AmberRose26, it's so tricky, isn't it? I hate that 'don't tell anyone' mindset. Obviously it's fine if you don't want to tell people, but I hate when it's made out to be something you shouldn't do. I haven't announced this one on social media yet because it just doesn't feel quite right, but a friend of mine knows and early on was asking questions, and someone felt the need to tick me off for talking about it 'too early' with 'don't you know things can go wrong?' Well, yes, I do actually, thank you for that. Hmm It is annoying!

I wish this baby would move more consistently. I had really definite fluttery movements in week 15-16 and they've just stopped now. Maybe one or two in a day if I concentrate. I know it's too early to worry but I don't like it!

Nosejug · 13/01/2026 19:13

Ooft well all day in hospital. Had my cervix measured yesterday and it’s only 11mm, so emergency cerclage was the plan for today. But after getting all prepped for surgery including spinal block it turns out I don’t have enough cervix left to put the cerclage through. Grim. But everyone was so nice. I’m changing my goals all the time, now I’m going to look at 24 weeks as my next milestone as that’s when babe can survive. Then any additional weeks will be precious. Crazy bad luck with everything for the last two years but if I get to meet my child it will all be worth it.

pastelheart · 13/01/2026 19:20

@AmberRose26i know so quick! Honestly so many movements, he doesn’t stop wriggling now lol! I am sure it is the start of movements for you, I started feeling stuff at about 14 weeks but it’s only been the past 2/3 weeks where I have known for deff it’s baby boy… he seems to be very strong and hyper 😂

@SarahAndQuackthank you! Yes all positive just lots going on and juggling, gets on top of you sometimes doesn’t it. Very glad I have more energy atm to deal with it all. How are you?

@Nosejug oh no, I’m sorry the plan changed very last minute. How many weeks are you now? I hope you are okay?

@SarahAndQuack yes you are 100% right .. I also find it strange that it’s the 1st trimester that is always kept quiet and that is the trimester you most need people to know so they understand why your so tired and sicky and you need the most support /help. Hopefully you’ll get consistent movements soon, do you know where your placenta is ? My friend felt the movements much later as she had an antennal placenta (where it was at the front) and made it harder to feel the movements ?!

I really struggled at work today, my bump is getting that little bit bigger and I am finding my lower back was so sore , had the worse head ache and was just so tired! But tomorrow is another day I guess,

AmberRose26 · 13/01/2026 20:07

@Nosejug oh gosh so sorry this has happened, can they give your progesterone pessaries at all ? I think they can help keep your cervix longer ? There was another thread and I am sure the lady said her cervix got longer again after a few weeks on the pessaries ? I might be wrong but I am sure that’s what I read ?! I really hope things will be ok.

AmberRose26 · 13/01/2026 20:13

@pastelheart did someone comment something ? I never seen that ? Was it today ?

@Nosejug I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through, that must have been so stressful especially after having the spinal block... everything crossed for you that more and more weeks pass safely. Xx

FancyGoose · 13/01/2026 21:33

@worldwidetravel2017 how are you doing? Any plans being made for you or is it a case of taking it as it comes? Hope you're okay.

@Nosejug so sorry, that must feel really stressful/scary. Is there anything else that can be done or do you just have to wait it out?

@pastelheart good luck for the scan!

I’m recovering much better than I expected. I needed an episiotomy due to a past surgery I had as a precaution so that’s the only really pain I have.

Callie loved her walk and slept for 4 hours when we got back 😂😂

Sorry to hear you’re having such a tough time. Have they given you any you can try to improve the cervix (progesterone etc) or is it complete bed rest?
