Oh @39soph how lovely! (Lovely doesn’t cut it, I can imagine your loss of words!) I’m 39 too (barely clinging on mind) and it’s taken 4/5 years to get this far. Not quite 17!! I’m just a day ahead of you :)

Aw wow @Pregnantera it just astounds me that it even has a little thumb to suck and knows it wants to, just so cute ❤️ congrats on your good scan :)

@Niknak8493 @Cornishmaid92 I’m exactly the same! Was 9+2 yesterday :) Also had my booking appointment yesterday. Still can’t believe I’ve made it that far. It was the first time I had to think about birth questions (and shortened cervix questions but I’m not thinking about that till later heh).

Is anyone else on a red pathway? I’m kind of glad to be under it, I had a non pregnancy related massive haemorrhage 2 years ago and I’m like, please have blood ready for me! Though maybe it would be an enforced caesarian? My sisters both did hypnobirthing with pools. Actually it’s too early to be thinking through all this! 12 weeks first!

Niknak8493 · 25/11/2025 07:25

@39sophwow! Congratulations to you! That’s amazing. I’m so happy for you!

ManifestSunshine · 25/11/2025 07:31

@Nosejug I'm considered high risk, mostly because I've had a previous PPH and because my other babies were big. I'll have extra monitoring and growth scans later on in the pregnancy. They've already booked my glucose tolerance test!

Niknak8493 · 25/11/2025 07:35

@Nosejug 3 of us all with the same due date 😂 I’d love to do pool births but I’m not aloud to do anything exciting like that I have to stay in a bed and I hate it, I mean it’s pretty painful when you’re not aloud to walk around, they let me for a little while then I’m on the bed until delivery. My first birth I was in established labour for 24 hours (3 days in total for labour) and my second my waters were broke for 3 days with no pain or progression so I was induced and in delivery room 2 hours (went from 2cms to 10 in 15 minutes) I’m really hoping to not be induced this time round. I have antibodies so baby can get really sick and has to have bloods taken from umbilical cord before it’s cut. It felt strange discussing birth so early at the appointment. Mine was last Monday 😊

Niknak8493 · 25/11/2025 07:40

@ManifestSunshinemy son was big for his gestation too so I’m also getting extra scans, I’m high risk because of antibodies, carrying larger babies and my age apparently 😂 my son was 8 pounds 12 oz (got stuck on the way out ) he was born smack on 37 weeks they say if he was to come on his due date he’d have been 11pounds plus 😂 I feel lucky he came early lol daughter was 2 weeks early but she was just 7lb 1oz

SummerSolstice25 · 25/11/2025 08:16

@39soph congratulations! Another 39 year old here 😊

Im very lucky in that I’m not feeling sick at all but I am struggling with what to eat, I seek to have an aversion to all healthy foods. I have no interest at all in vegetables. I can eat fruit all day and I crave it, but the only way I can eat vegetables is soup!

39soph · 25/11/2025 08:35

Ah thanks everyone 🥰 really appreciate your kind words - still in absolute shock xx

DesertSnow · 25/11/2025 09:20

Congrats on your scan @Pregnantera, that's great news! My daughter was sucking her thumb at the 12 week scan in 2023 and I'm still trying to get it out of her mouth!

Hope those of us still feeling very unwell see an improvement soon - myself included! 😁

How amazing @39soph, I can't imagine how you're feeling!

@Nosejug I'm consultant led due to fetal growth restriction and a bad placenta in my previous pregnancy, and I'll have extra scans later on.

Has anyone had experience with physio in pregnancy and getting a referral? I had horrific PGP last pregnancy that left me unable to walk unaided but it didn't start till about 30 weeks, but this time it's already started kicking in and I am going round in circles trying to get a referral, it's all very conflicting information that's left me pretty confused!

Nosejug · 25/11/2025 09:39

@DesertSnow oh sorry to hear you’ve been in bad pain. Maybe worth making a post about it on the broader pregnancy board.

@SummerSolstice25 light symptoms here too (but also strong aversions). Sadly my lovely lentil soup was rejected by my brain. And I usually never like pasta (weird thing since I was a kid) but am v into pasta rn! Saying that I still can’t open the fridge without stifling a dry heave.

Thanks for sharing your red pathways, I’m unclear on the exact reason for me but maybe just multiple reasons. And oh dear @Niknak8493 was that because of his size? If I’m allowed to do a vaginal birth (if I get there) I’d like to, but I’d also like to be able to move if I feel the need! Also, antibodies, is that rhesus negative antibodies? I’m also that blood group though I think this pregnancy is the only one far along enough to have made its own blood. I’m jumping the gun with all of this! Just the booking appointment made things (dangerously) felt so much less tentative!

I have to have the glucose tolerance test because of a family history! Have you had it before? It sounds so strange to sit waiting in the hospital for hours!

DesertSnow · 25/11/2025 16:00

@Juno2026 I had the glucose tolerance test last time and have been booked for it again because of family history. The annoying bit is the fasting, the waiting I didn't find too bad - just load up on some entertainment and bring a sandwich for afterwards 😊

I've had 3! (Had an extra one as they couldn't believe my negative result). The drink isn't very nice but bearable, I'd advise to bring a good book or something to watch with headphones, it's mostly just a lot of waiting around.

Niknak8493 · 25/11/2025 17:54

@Nosejugim positive but I had a miscarriage in my first pregnancy they think that baby had the antibodies ether the baby was negative or they just carried the antibodies I now have and when I lost it, ir passed it on to me.

Pregnantera · 25/11/2025 18:15

@Nosejug its incredible what they are getting up to already! Pretty special to see!

@DesertSnow I will have to start weaning this one off thumb sucking from birth then. 😅
I hope you get some relief from the pain soon, no good being in pain for so long!

@39soph congratulations and welcome to the group!

Mummabear102021 · 25/11/2025 18:23

Hey. I am due the same day. Im so scared and nervous. Have to wait until the 3rd for my scan..
We have had 2 miscarrages this year :(
Both before 9 weeks.
So staying positive

Mummabear102021 · 25/11/2025 18:25

Hey im 39. Slightly mad yes.
This will be my 4th. Definetly crazy

Niknak8493 · 25/11/2025 18:32

@Mummabear102021yeah I also feel slightly mad being pregnant again at 41 😂 my partner doesn’t have any so I felt it was only right while I still can, let him experience fatherhood lol

Fluck · 25/11/2025 19:20

@Mummabear102021 I’m 32 and this is my 4th - I’m really not looking forward to the comments!!

ManifestSunshine · 25/11/2025 20:53

I'm 39 too! There seem to be a few of us the same age.

I've potentially been exposed to slapped cheek syndrome (parvovirus b19) which is a bit worrying. I called EPU Thursday last week who advised me to contact my GP to arrange a blood test to find out if I'm immune, which I did, but the first available appointment isn't until the 12th December which feels too long!

MangoVirgo · 26/11/2025 07:52

Hi everyone. I’ve been following this thread for weeks and have been working up to posting. I’m curently 11+1 and due mid June. I’m 35 and this is my first viable pregnancy as I don’t count an early miscarriage I had with an ooops at age 16.

I have my scan next Wednesday but we did an early scan a few weeks ago and saw a heartbeat and we’re measuring a few days ahead.

I’ve been lucky with symptoms, mostly just meat aversion, heartburn and some pulling on my right side if I bend or rollover in bed. I‘m still running twice a week but my gym sessions have fallen away slightly, I’m worried about getting out of the habit but it’s a tricky time of year.

I’m really nervous for the 12 week scan, luckily I’m really busy with work travel this week and away with friends over the weekend. Looking forward to seeing all your updates.

Nosejug · 26/11/2025 08:30

@MangoVirgo I’m jealous that you’re running! I always dreamt of a pregnancy where I was running and keeping very fit :) (circumstances mean I can’t) but I’m gradually increasing my walking at least. I’m used to 6-8 miles a day but I’m too worried something will happen with the sc hematoma. I’d like to start swimming soon but same worries. Also even at the best of times seeing… debris… in the pool makes me gag. I’d be embarrassed to be seen being so disgusted haha. Enjoy your fit pregnancy!

Niknak8493 · 26/11/2025 19:44

Welcome @MangoVirgo I wish I could run during pregnancy. I’m not aloud to do too much but I have managed to keep going the gym every other day, even if it is limited to just walking on the treadmill 😂 I’m just trying to keep strict with myself with going and keeping that routine. There’s been a few times I’ve had to tap out after 15 mins though thanks to sickness 😂😂

Dee51121 · 26/11/2025 21:05

I last posted a couple of pages back. Thanks to those that replied and also shared their experiences of caring for a toddler while pregnant.

I went for a follow up private scan yesterday and it wasn't good news unfortunately. Definitely a blighted ovum, so I'm booked in for an NHS scan on Friday to confirm. Funnily enough, now I'm sure it's not a viable pregnancy my body seems to be catching up and I've started to have a bit more bleeding. Will see what options I'm given on Friday. I feel strangely ok about it, we'd only just started trying when I fell pregnant and perhaps this is my body's way of telling me it wants a bit more of a break between pregnancies.

Wishing the very best of luck to everyone on this thread. My first was born in June and I do think it's a great time of year to welcome a baby, so I really hope you have stress free pregnancies and births and get to enjoy the summer with your newborns. Take care!

Niknak8493 · 26/11/2025 21:47

@Dee51121im so sorry to hear your news. I know what you mean about being strangely ok with it. In my last pregnancy once a scan confirmed it and I knew there was no viability and I just wanted to heal and try again when ready and process what had happened. I wish you all the best moving forward and you get your rainbow baby xx

Juno2026 · 27/11/2025 17:31

@ManifestSunshine @DesertSnow
Thanks for the tips on the glucose test! I hadn't even thought about the fasting or the taste of the drink... being hungry makes my nausea worse so hopefully by that stage morning sickness is better
