Yeah I totally understand where you're coming from because I feel the same. Im just glad iron is in my system for 1 month rather than just starting but it can take months to build up. It's good you're seeing a midwife in 2 weeks though! Can I ask is it routine to see them early?

Pregnantera · 05/10/2025 19:45

@Katie2908 I think it’s routine, I was told it’s to take note of my height and weight and to offer screenings for various things.
Feel totally unsure about what I’m supposed to be doing and all I want to do is the right thing for my baby - I rang my doctors surgery to tell them I was pregnant and they literally said what do you want me to do about that! I then found somewhere online by myself to register my pregnancy and they contacted me to arrange an appointment.

Fluck · 05/10/2025 19:53

I have to do a self referral to the midwives and they like to do the booking in appt around 8/9 weeks so they can get you booked in for a scan at 12 weeks. I’m not going to fill the form in just yet though - think I’ll wait if I make it to 7 as I couldn’t cancel online & it was horrible having to talk to the midwife to say I’d had a miscarriage.
It’s not usually necessarily to go to your gp for bloods or anything unless you have health reasons. Also when my BMI was over 30 in one of my previous pregnancies, I needed to get high dose folic acid prescribed so that’s worth bearing in mind if any of you might need it.
Kidding model I have cravings and maybe nausea symptoms foray - I think it’s just anxiety ha!!

Katie2908 · 05/10/2025 11:30

Can I ask, when do you go GP and stuff for bloods? I did the online referral but I was severely iron deficient before being pregnant so worrying about it impacting. I have repeat bloods in 4 weeks which would make me 8-9 weeks? Should I just wait

My symptoms is im starving all the time! Like starving. But nothing i fancy. I have cramps and sore breasts too and im quite bloated.

Depends on your NHS trust. When I had my first, the booking appointment was at 10wks. In my new area, it's "around 8weeks".

I filled in the online form for Badger notes but I just got a very odd confirmation email that didn't make any sense and so when I hadn't heard anything for a week and called my GP surgery who booked me in with the midwife on the spot. The receptionist said she didn't understand Badger Notes and implied it was a bit useless. I only mention it so that if you're left in the dark for ages it might well be worth following up with your GP or community midwives.

Hey everyone. Congratulations on your pregnancies! This is my test 10DPO and I was just worried how dark the line is. I have had have repeat miscarriages in the past and whenever I google there’s just lots of information about molar pregnancies. I feel rubbish and sicky! Thank you.

ManifestSunshine · 06/10/2025 14:02

@Baby2026june I think that's normal for 10dpo - here's my 10dpo test (maybe a smidge lighter than yours but pretty similar)

ManifestSunshine · 06/10/2025 14:15

Argh, I can't seem to attach the pic!

SummerLover89 · 06/10/2025 14:29

Anyone else feeling consumed by anxiety? I thought I was doing ok but my only symptom (peeing and thirsty all through the night) disappeared last 2 nights and I've got myself in a panic. 5 weeks today. Have gone and done a HCG blood test as convinced myself it can't be progressing as symptoms entirely gone. No sore boobs at any point like previous pregnancies have happened this pregnancy.

luhby · 06/10/2025 16:13

@SummerLover89 yeah, I'm still pretty early, my period is supposed to come just tomorrow, but I'm already worried my test line should've been stronger 🫠 I just hate how much the trauma from previous losses have taken all the joy from being pregnant. Now getting the test positive feels just like the first hurdle passed with others to come, until I can at least feel less anxious.

Esssa · 06/10/2025 16:40

I'm 5 weeks today too and having major doubts about this being a viable pregnancy. It's pregnancy #8 and I've got 2 children so statistics are not on my side. Got an NHS scan 2 weeks today. But knowing it's in the future just makes me feel like I won't get that far. I'm crossing everything and trying to think positively but it's hard.

ManifestSunshine · 06/10/2025 19:09

I've got an scan booked for 23rd October when I'll be 7 weeks which feels like ages away! I've booked a counselling appointment because my anxiety levels are higher than is ideal.

It's hard to stay positive when you've been on the wrong side of statistics before but I'm trying to remember that most pregnancies end with a healthy baby.

I told work today, they knew I'd been having IVF and I need time off to attend my scan.

ManifestSunshine · 06/10/2025 19:11

@Esssa good luck with your scan! Glad they are giving you an early scan - I find care varies so much according to where you live, I moved a couple of years ago and it was eye opening how different the care was.

Pregjune · 07/10/2025 07:18

Hi is anyone still continuing with exercise classes and how they finding it? Im finding it hard and have like stich pain under left rib and then ache after. I was thinking trying aqua aerobics but would be ok to start at nearly 5 weeks

@Pregjune i’ve always been a runner and I was keen to continue for as long as I felt able to, obviously at a more cautious speed/distance. I managed to run on Saturday but it was a struggle! I have been sick 3 times a day and struggling to eat so it could be that making it hard.

Im sorry you feel that way. I am a bit up and down just worrying if something will happen. But I think just telling myself "im pregnant today and can't control the rest" is helping. It is normal to feel anxious, but if you feel like it's consuming you, maybe speak to GP x

Katie2908 · 07/10/2025 09:36

@Pregjune I work as a nurse so running up and down like mad atm. But im keen to exercise as I want to make sure I keep on top of mental health over winter. So I have started swimming and small exercise in gym. Im keen to keep going and read it is safe. You aren't meant to start any new exercise, I've been on off gym over years. But I have read it's ok to start lightly and swimming is great for that.

OneKookyPinkShaker · 07/10/2025 12:23

@Pregjune the only exercise I have consistently done since my first baby was done was Pilates once a week and been a bit hit and miss for able to get to the gym and other classes so I will just keep up Pilates for now.

On your earlier post about urge to wee and leaking have you been to pelvic floor physio before as they can help with this

Pregjune · 07/10/2025 13:07

No i havent its not been as bad the last few days I didnt realise they existed pelvic floor physio. Thank you

Fluck · 07/10/2025 14:12

I’m trying to stick with my gym classes as I really want to be healthy this pregnancy (I’ve been overweight or obese for previous ones). What I really want is a nice scolding hot bath and I’m so, so gutted I can’t have one 🤣
For those consumed with anxiety, like me, I’ve been using Chat gbt as my therapist tbh. I’ve been messaging multiple times a day and something it said today really helped me. It’s ok for me to feel happy - my emotions won’t change the outcome. I’m trying to protect myself by pretending I’m not happy but in reality I’m so excited & happy! So I’m going to let myself be happy, it won’t change anything & it won’t change how I’ll feel if I do lose the baby.

Clearblue digital is saying 2-3 weeks and I’m going to test again on the weekend where it will (hopefully) say 3+. I have a holiday at the end of the month so I think that will help stop me obsessing & have some time to relax… I just wish I had some symptoms. I have discharge & constipation but no nausea or sore boobs! I need a sign (more than a test) that I’m pregnant lol

Fluck · 07/10/2025 14:13

Also, I told my best friend. I don’t usually tell anyone early but I’ll need her support either way. It was a good feeling - I need to let myself have good feelings.

Fluck · 07/10/2025 14:16

I didn’t feel this anxious with pregnancy before loss. Miscarriage changes everything. Sending hugs to everyone else who is feeling anxious - we are pregnant today.

ToysRus56 · 07/10/2025 14:22

Hello, does anyone know when the earliest is you can have a scan? Also very anxious.

ManifestSunshine · 07/10/2025 19:19

I've stopped most of my regular exercise as I feel so tired and sick in pregnancy, I can't keep up with it. I've done some really gentle yoga (I usually favour the more intense classes) and am going to try some pilates too and maybe some gentle swimming if I can get enough motivation to go.

I'm already struggling at work too but trying to keep going for now. I find the symptoms reassuring but but enjoying feeling rubbish.

@ToysRus56 the earliest you could reasonably expect to see a heartbeat is 6 weeks but it might be better to wait until 7 weeks if you can as a few days can make a big difference. You might need an internal scan to see much at this early stage.

Annoying I've had a hormonal breakout on my chin - anyone got any good pregnancy safe skincare tips?

ToysRus56 · 07/10/2025 20:16

Thank you @ManifestSunshine. Just find the waiting so hard! I wish I had a few more symptoms to be honest but I can understand they become a bit of a pain xx
