@Nosejug delighted to read your update!

I had a scan yesterday and everything was ok thank God. I am now trying to decide between Panorma or Prenatal Safe for my NIPT test. Anyone have experience with either?

Newhere1993 · 20/11/2025 16:29

@ManifestSunshine I'm so sorry about the sickness it's absolutely awful isn't it! But I'm with you in the club, although I started medication earlier this time which has seemed to help once I found the right one.
Have they been able to help at all with it?

Nosejug · 20/11/2025 16:49

Thanks @SummerSolstice25 ! For a split second I thought you were thinking about names… “Panorma” or…

I haven’t given a thought to nipt yet—I assumed it’d just be a standard nhs thing.

So did I. I never knew there were a few different kinds.

Pregnantera · 20/11/2025 18:48

My scan is on Monday morning. I’m excited but after the bleed I have my anxieties too.

@Nosejug I’m so happy for you I’m crying! That’s wonderful news, you must be so happy right now. When I had my scan at 8 weeks after the bleed I was awake at 3am too - was worried sick. You get some rest now.

@ManifestSunshine I know how you feel on the sickness front - started at 3 weeks before I could even get a positive pregnancy test and still sick today at almost 12 weeks. It’s rough!

Niknak8493 · 20/11/2025 18:53

I don’t know about all of you but all my pregnancy is all logged in an app, appointments, results, checks at every antenatal appointment. I got a notification this evening to say I have a follow up antenatal appointment at 12 weeks at the hospital (I’ve never had a 12 week appointment in my two full term pregnancies) so I’m a little confused. I was expecting a scan appointment not this. Anyone else had a midwife appointment at 12 weeks before? I’m high risk but was in all my pregnancies so not sure if that’s a factor. Confused

RJF89 · 20/11/2025 20:08

@Nosejug great news 🥳 I hope you get a good sleep tonight!

@ManifestSunshine Hopefully the vomitting stops soon, and you get to see a lively baby on the scan next week 🤞🏻

@SummerSolstice25 Another way Scotland is different, we only get offered an NIPT test if the NT scan and blood test show a higher risk, and there's no mention of a choice between different ones in the leaflet I got or online.

@Niknak8493 I had a midwife appointment booked for straight after my scan yesterday but they cancelled it when they said I needed to come back, maybe you'll get a scan one through tomorrow 🤞🏻Might be worth calling them if not?

Niknak8493 · 20/11/2025 20:12

@RJF89yes I’ll see if I can leave a message in my journal for them to reply to 😊

SummerSolstice25 · 20/11/2025 20:50

@RJF89 I’m being seen privately and my consultant gave me a pamphlet with the two options that the hospital he’s based in provide, but it’s still at extra cost. There are lots of private clinics to get it done in here in Ireland, and all offer various different ones, as I have just discovered today!

RJF89 · 20/11/2025 21:09

@SummerSolstice25 That explains it then! I have seen it offered at the private scan clinics here, and they say it includes the gender so will you find that out from it? It would be great to know so early!

SummerSolstice25 · 20/11/2025 22:16

@RJF89 yes both options include the gender if you want to find out but we won’t, it’s our first pregnancy and we’re going to wait for the surprise all going well 🙏

Summer022 · 21/11/2025 11:50

12 week scan went well, they dated me ahead too at 12+2 so due date is 3rd June! So relieved. It took 40 mins and a walk and sugary drink to get baby to get into the right position for all the measurements. My son was exactly the same so I have a feeling we’re having another boy!

Hhhhmmm · 21/11/2025 12:05

Hello everyone. New here! I’m 37 and pregnant with my second. I have a 6 year old daughter so this pregnancy was unexpected as I didn’t think I could conceive again as I hadn’t since my daughter. Also thought I was starting peri menopause🤣🤣🤣

Im 9 weeks and I have felt absolutely shocking since I found out at 5 weeks. The nasuea is horrific (never had that last time) my adhd is raging on fire I did come off meds but I’ve had to go back on a low dose because I struggle mostly with emotional regulation and impulsive hyperactive mind with constant intrusive and negatives thoughts that never shut up. I was like this last time 7 years ago- I didn’t know I had adhd then I just thought I was absolutely psychotic🤣🤣. So again I’m under peri mental health midwife team as it pretty clear to me now my ADHD and pregnancy hormones hate each other 🤣🤣

i have a private scan tomorrow , had one at 6 weeks too. I had a loss before my daughter so constantly worrying lol

anyone else late 30s too? Are we mad 🤣

Niknak8493 · 21/11/2025 14:13

@Summer022congrats on the scan! So glad it all went well 😊

Niknak8493 · 21/11/2025 14:19

Hello and welcome @Hhhhmmm. im 41, I have a 21 ans 17 year old and starting all over again 😂 I feel awful this time around and I have wondered if age is a factor to my symptoms feeling worse and more intense . I’ve had two losses one before my first born and one 4months ago so I feel you when It comes to fear throughout pregnancy. How exciting scan tomorrow! In desperate to have a scan again. I had a private one at 7weeks I’m 9 weeks tomorrow based off my period but my private scan measured me 5 days further along so looking forward to my 12 week scan to get a more definite date. 😊

memorablemicker · 21/11/2025 14:23

@Hhhhmmm - welcome! Hope you begin to feel much better. I think we’re about the same time along (I’m 9 +4).

I’ve also really noticed my brain has been haywire. I saw a therapist for a while who really thought I should get tested properly for ADHD. It’s really interesting you say that you find pregnancy makes some of your symptoms worse as I’ve definitely found it so much harder to do the things I already struggle with (boring task, admin, going to sleep, quietening my brain down, remembering stuff!). Can I ask how you managed to get diagnosed the last time and if you went through your midwife team?

Congratulations on the scan @Summer022 😊

no wasn’t through the midwife team think they just thought I was depressed anxious etc(like I thought my whole life’

i didn’t know anything about adhd until my daughter was about 18months old and I thought something is going on here (I work with children so knew there was something more) so I was then researching online and it came up with adhd then I seen the adult adhd symptoms and was like OH MY GOD TICK TICK THIS IS ME🤦‍♀️🤣 I then went to the doctors and they referred me for assessments etc which took about 6months to get a diagnosis. Obviously this was before it became more recognised and wasn’t long waiting lists.

so now I’m one of them angry mums at my daughters school complaining when they are say telling me she is easily distracted, fidgets, very emotional, can’t let things go,interupts. Struggles to focus. Forgets belongings. Sounds just like my school reports 🤣. In this day and age with all the children and adults that have been struggling all their lives you would think they would have a lot more awareness.

Juno2026 · 21/11/2025 19:04

It's been great reading all your updates and I hope you're all finding the first trimester manageable. Also thinking of everyone with 12 week scans coming up.

I've been quiet as symptoms have been strong. Lots of nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. I've pushed through without taking a day off of work, I haven't vomited at work but whenever I'm off work I seem to vomit. Not sure how that works. I spend most of my free time in bed at the moment.

Had my 12 week scan this morning. Slept terribly and had my teeth clamped shut each of the multiple times I woke in the night. I didn't realise how worried I was, had been trying to put it to the back of my mind, but I guess my body was still tense. Then I was vomiting just as we needed to leave the house for the scan this morning, so I felt pretty rubbish.

Fortunately the twelve week scan went well. Baby was very active, pushing itself off the sides of my womb and moving its arms back and forth. It was magical! I've been dated ahead of what I thought so I'm actually 12w4 days, EDD 1st June.

Sending lots of love and hope to everyone with scans coming up.

DesertSnow · 23/11/2025 23:26

So pleased to hear about some good scans. Mine isn't till I'm 12+6 going by last scan so a week away still. I finally had my booking in appointment and they've made a referral to perinatal mental health so hoping that will come through soon.

@Niknak8493 They're definitely aware of the RH- issue now! Hoping this baby will also be RH- like my daughter. I think the scan has to be before 14 weeks, so I'm sure they'll book you in this side of Christmas. Perhaps that 12 week appointment is actually your scan but it doesn't say so?

Unfortunately PGP has already started quite badly. I got it from about 30 weeks last time and ended up unable to walk unaided for the last month so I'm pretty worried about it appearing so early this time. I'm calling the GP to ask for a physio appointment first thing tomorrow.

I've also been quiet as, like many of you, I've been awfully sick, and I've also been dealing with a lot of stuff around my dad. I feel guilty that it almost feels like this pregnancy is taking a back seat due to the timing.

Welcome @Nosejug, a fair few of us have had bleeding. My haematoma hasn't bled for a little bit now so really hoping they tell me at the scan it's resolved. Fingers crossed for you.

Welcome @Hhhhmmm. Interesting what you say about ADHD - I'm currently being assessed for autism (results next week) and I wonder if the way I see things and need to be in control of things contributed to my breakdown last time. Hopefully will get more support in place. Glad you're getting support.

Pregnantera · 24/11/2025 19:49

Hello everyone.
Had the 12 week scan this morning and I’ve had my due date brought forward to 1 June now - only just sticking with you all! Baby was sleepy at the scan so had to get up and do a jiggle to get baby awake and moving into the right position for measurements. Wasn’t too happy about the rude awakening and it was throwing its arms and legs all over the place in protest. It did look like it was waving at me at one point and then it was sucking its thumb which was rather cute!
How is everyone doing? I’m still quite sick but not as bad as I was a few weeks ago and starting to eat a little more.

Niknak8493 · 24/11/2025 19:53

@Pregnantera great news on the scan! Always good when dates go forward too. I’m 9 weeks 2 days today and the sickness just keeps peaking for me. There’s nothing that doesn’t make me want to throw up. So happy I’ve only thrown up twice though. I’m looking forward to reaching a point I can enjoy any food and enjoy the taste 😂

Cornishmaid92 · 24/11/2025 20:18

Hi all,
I’ve been keeping up with the chat but been a bit quiet myself as a lot been going on the last few weeks but finally feel like things are settling down. My Dad and Nana have both been in hospital but Dad recovering from surgery well at home now and Nana doing much better and was transferred today to a lovely looking care home :)
@Niknak8493 I am 9 weeks + 2 too :)
@Hhhhmmm I have a 6 year old daughter too (it was her b’day party on Saturday - they’re exhausting enough when you’re not 9 weeks pregnant! 🤣). Have you told yours yet?
I’ve been a lot more nauseous this time round (was lucky to not really have any the first time) and definitely noticing I need to pee a lot more than first time around too! I had my booking appointment today so all feeling more real now :) I will now be obsessively checking my email for a scan date for the next week or two 🤣 Lovely to hear about other’s scans in the meantime :)
My husband’s sister is also pregnant and due mid-May and my brother and his wife are expecting their first on 7th May so it’s going to be a busy spring/summer!

Pregnantera · 24/11/2025 21:36

@Niknak8493 I should have kept my mouth shut - just been sick after typing that post! It’s by no means over yet but instead of being sick 5 times a day it’s now more like 1/2 times. Perhaps I am over the peak at this point. I am looking forward to enjoying food again too, I used to love my food. I can’t even drink anything anymore.

Niknak8493 · 24/11/2025 23:09

Same @Pregnantera I can’t stomach any food or drinks and I’m struggling.

@Cornishmaid92 ahhh twin dates 😊 I won’t lie I’m hoping mine moves forward after dating scan though 😂😂

39soph · 24/11/2025 23:41

I’ve just found out this evening that i’m 9+1 at age 39 & almost 17 years of infertility!
I think i’m in shock.
Been for a private scan & seen the little one… honestly can’t put it into words!
Haven’t told anyone yet apart from my best friend!
