Sorry to hear you are all having a touch time. In relation to cervix length, how was this picked up? Is it something they look for at the scans?

Mine was checked because I have a septate womb that can cause pre term labour. I only found out I had this just before conceiving this little one. I should have been checked with my ds, but obviously we didnt no back then.

@Gizmo1983 they dont bother me anymore hahs its become my nightly routine. Im on mine till 36 weeks xxx

Sunshinemoom · 05/10/2025 16:20

Maybe because you have the stitch? I dont have the stick tbf my cervix is measuring at 37 now maybe thats why they want to keep me on it xx

Quick question for those of you that have had a 25 week appointment recently, do you get to hear the heartbeat? Debating whether DH should bother coming with me. He is quite keen to come to whatever appointments come
up and his work are really good with it and allow him to make up the time whenever (WFH). I just don’t want to waste his time if they’re just going to measure me and do my blood pressure. We thought he would get to hear it at the 16 week appointment but he didn’t so he just sat and watched me get my blood pressure done 😅😂

They listened to baby heart beat at my 25 week appointment 😌

I assume they will listen in. Where i am we dont get a 25 week appointment and my midwife said she will listen in at 28 weeks. I also recorded my ds last time when partner couldnt come so you have that option too xxx

The midwife listened to my baby’s heartbeat at the 16 week and also at my appointment last week when I was 23 and a half weeks. So they definitely should at 25 weeks. You could always ask too.

I’m hoping to combi feed this time, can only recommend if hipp organic is good formula? 😅 it’s such a mind field. I Exclusively breastfed last time as my son at CMPA

I’ve seen Hip organic supposedly good for reflux - we had a very refluxy babe last time. Stuck it out with Kendamil, but don’t think I’ll go that route this time - supply issues and no alternative options to try. Think I’ll go with aptamil as the aptamil pepti (think that’s what it’s called) is supposed to be good for cmpa/reflux.

Hopefully no reflux or cmpa for anyone 🤞

Jadeypie · 06/10/2025 11:33

I have no clue about milk, I assume they all have to have the same ingredients? We used cow and gate for ds probably use the same this time round xxx

Oh that’s good to know. Thank you! I thought kendamil but I know they had supply issues which put me off. Fingers crossed no CMPA/reflux for anyone!!

I think in the uk it’s regulated to all be the same. Depends how baby gets in with the milk I’ve gathered from research. How did you get on with cow and gate? Xx

Ds was fine with it, he did suffer with colic at first. But he did get better the older he got. Im just sticking to what I know. I didnt breast feed last time (no milk come in) im not planning on trying this time either.

Ive just ordered my bottles and Steriliser last night. We had Dr browns last time but gone with the anti colic tippee ones this time. I feel like bottles are always trial and error hahs. Xxx

dubkitten · 06/10/2025 13:57

I’m planning on using cow and gate too, will just buy 1/2 boxes and see how they get on with it first.

Will do the same with the nappies as we stocked up on lots of Pampers when my goddaughter was born and they just didn’t sit right on her, kept leaking so we switched to Lidl ones. Will try the Lidl ones again this time.

Got a good deal on Amazon of 18 packs to sensitive baby wipes for €13

Still have yet to do much baby prep except a second hand snuzpod crib from Facebook. I've heard good things about MAM bottles so will look into those I think. Hoping to combi feed but depends on baby and whether I can BF I guess. We have booked some nursery visits after people mentioned long waiting lists. Feels very premature though!

WildFinch · 06/10/2025 14:32

We've booked NCT classes, is anyone else doing ante natal classes? Main reason for NCT was hoping to make some friends as well as learn stuff. Lots of people I know have done them and still in touch years later.

Oh thats good! Yeah stick to what you know best and it worked last time!

my friend used the anti colic tippee ones got on well with them. I’ve got the nuk perfect match glass one this time round. Apparently good if beast feeding as well.

@WildFinchmam bottles are good! If you do combi feed My Midwife said either at 2-3 am pump or get baby on the boob because that’s when you’re prolactin hormone is the highest so it keeps your supply up!

They’ll do a full blood count and antibody screen to check for incompatibility with baby. We do the antibody screening in the lab I work for but it’s a different department so I won’t actually handle my own samples 😅

I never got on with pampers either. Last time used Tesco. This time I’m hoping to use pura less chemicals in them. But if baby doesn’t get on with them then I’ll try Tesco again.

sounds like you’ve been very organised today!! 😅

full blood count and the antibody screen! Xx

My bump has really popped, woke up on Friday and it was much bigger than when I went to bed. No hiding it now - even my boss couldn’t believe the difference from when she seen me last week

No not yet at my 28 week midwife appointment she said she would measure then! How much did your ds weigh? I find it interesting how different baby weights can be xx
