No, I thought I would have it done at my appointment yesterday but she said they start at 28 weeks. I did mention I was concerned about all the comments that I’m carrying big but she told me to tell them to F off 😂

Jadeypie · 07/10/2025 06:27

Ive git mine on monday so intruiged what her measurements are. I ended up with growth scans with ds because I was small, they was convinced he was going to be 6ilbs he ended up coming out 8.3 haha xxx

I thought they started the 25 week appointment they did when I had my son in Covid but they’ve obviously changed it! Some people just need to keep their opinion to their self I get told the opposite that my bump is tiny which then just makes me worry! Xx

Yeah interesting what it will be. It’s crazy how different the weights can be on Growth scans to watch they’re actually born at. Xx

Yeah when I googled what to expect at the appointment it did say that I would be measured on the NHS website but I don’t know if it’s a recent change or because I’m in Wales and we’re different sometimes 🤷🏻‍♀️
Honestly the lack of thought from people who comment on pregnant bodies has been eye opening! As if we don’t have enough to worry about without other people’s opinions 🙄

Jadeypie · 07/10/2025 07:15

@Confusedmermaid1 i agree tell them to leg it!!! I hate comments regarding pregnant wpmens bodies you wouldnt comment on a none pregnant women!

@Sunshinemoom i know so not too worried if i did have to go for a growth scan. I do feel like hes so low though. Xxx

dubkitten · 07/10/2025 08:33

They measured my bump at my 24 week appointment and said it was measuring fine

@dubkitten I’ve been having a browse.. haven’t noticed anything that’s a ridiculously good bargain but I did get a few bits..

I started a registry because you get discount when you buy from it and noticed the baby monitor was down to £75 (says from £170 but I think it was £90-110 when I put it on the list) and the tommee tippee twist nappy bin thing is half price with 6 refills (£25). Had 15% off the camera as well, should have ordered them separately because I would have had 15% off each from the registry.. never mind 😅

DH treated himself to a ninja slow cooker, we’re pretending it’s baby related as I’m sure it will come in very useful when she’s born 😂

I feel like baby a lot lower this time round as well! Xx

Flu and Covid jabs just done, hopefully no side effects.

Got a few pieces on Amazon so think I have most things in now. Just need to get a baby monitor and a play mat. Also need to start organising things for my hospital bag

I keep saying I need to invest in a slow cooker! Will be so handy when babys here and juggling school runs ect. So its a great shout to get haha xxx

WildFinch · 07/10/2025 11:38

@Jadeypie slow cookers are great, I use mine every week and there's only the two of us. Makes it easy to batch cook.
@dubkitten I was told NHS aren't giving pregnant women COVID jabs anymore since spring this year. Having COVID at the moment I looked into getting one privately but it was nearly £90 :/ seeing as I've got it now I'm hoping it'll pass some antibodies on the the baby anyway.

Off to check out the Prime deals to see what I can find.

WanderWalker · 07/10/2025 11:54

I had a browse on prime for baby things….I bought a shark hoover 🤣 not baby related in the slightest. I’ve sold it to my partner saying while I’m recovering from my c section it’s way lighter than our hoover. That’s a lie…I won’t be doing any hoovering after my c section 🤣 but we now have a nice new hoover 🤭

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 07/10/2025 12:35

@dubkitten I had my flu jab yesterday (not heard covid jabs mentioned in pregnancy so assume they aren’t offering them in my Trust) and so far so good on the side effects side bar the achey arm.

Has anybody had RSV yet? I’m booked in to have it before my 28 week midwife appointment next week and hoping for minimal side effects

I am based in Ireland and we get them free in work.

Covid is on the list of jabs on the front of my maternity notes but no one has mentioned it yet
We usually get offered them through work as well and I haven’t heard anything about that yet so I wonder if they still are and it’s just early or whether they’ve stopped that too

Did you have to book your flu vac yourself through your GP? I haven’t had mine yet and unsure if I am supposed to book it myself. Did you have to book your RSV yourself too?

WildFinch · 07/10/2025 21:45

@WanderWalker I booked all my vaccines myself via a QR code my midwife gave me. They were at my local hospital in the maternity dept. I've had whooping + flu together and RSV in a couple of weeks. My GP has been very hands off throughout but I think that must vary. Can you Google maternity vaccines in your area and see what it says?

My GP just sends a link around to all eligible for the flu jab to book an appointment so I did it through them. Same with the RSV and whooping cough… though saying that I did get a call from hospital today asking if I wanted to go in for an RSV jab (would be a long drive for a tiny jab!) and I had to tell them I’d got one booked at the GP for next week.

WanderWalker · 07/10/2025 23:20

@WildFinch thanks I’ll try and google and see what I can find.

I’m 28 weeks and the care has been none existent. I’ve had no info on flu or RSV vac and haven’t seen a midwife since 16 weeks. I have my midwife appointment coming up but feel like I’ve just been left to my own devices 😣

WildFinch · 08/10/2025 07:33

@WanderWalker ugh, sorry to hear care has been rubbish for you. I haven't seen my midwife since 16 weeks but was due to see her this week at 23 weeks. Had to cancel because I've got COVID though. Do you have a community midwife number to call re.vaccines might be quicker?

Jadeypie · 08/10/2025 08:14

Am I right in thinking after 28weeks we see the midwife every 2 weeks then? Ive not seen mine since 16 weeks either, but tbf ive seen my consultant in-between so not felt too left behind.

As for vaccines my hospital has a drop in clinic on a friday or we can book xxxx

If it’s your first baby you see midwife at 31 weeks then 34 weeks then every two weeks.

if second baby don’t see them until 34 weeks then every 2 weeks 😩 xx
