I’ve an appointment for the MRSA clinic tomorrow ahead of my section. Has anybody been to one of these? Never had one in my previous pregnancies as they swabbed my nose before I went into theatre so all new to me.

I am mixed emotions about being home. I’m hopefully I’ll sleep better, relax more and feel better being home but also a lot of comfort comes with having all the amazing checks and staff at the hospital but I think this is the right decision. I’m 10 mins from the hospital and as you say anything worrying me I will be straight back in. Think my trip on weds has taught me that.

exactly - 5ish weeks and induced. Which will be another thing to think about but if we can get to then, that is amazing for baby girl.

Yeah I totally get that. Not fair from the hospital at all if you need to go back in. Hope had a peaceful couple days at home. Not long until you meet baby girl now!

I had mine at my 34 week midwife appointment was just the swab up the nose still! Hopefully the same for you!

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 07/12/2025 17:56

@Sunshinemoom oh I wish mine was at my 36 week midwife appointment this week and not a trek into the city centre hospital. You had it lucky!

Would have been so much easier if they did it at your midwife appointment. So you didn’t have to go out

Sunshinemoom · 07/12/2025 18:19

I spent this weekend. Making baby items like Moses basket, rocker. Got the steriliser out etc! Starting to feel more real

I had mine last week. They get you to do them yourself in the room. So one goes up both nostrils and then the other under your arm pits and groin. Really quick and simple 😊 They gave me the medication to take the night before and in the morning of my c section at the same appointment

Gizmo1983 · 07/12/2025 21:02

Yes I’ve had this the last few days! But then again, I seem to have every early labour symptom and nothing’s happening 🤣🤣🤣 xx

Gizmo1983 · 08/12/2025 08:01

@Jadeypie yes I think that can be a sign of the body clearing itself out. Yes definitely enjoy the lack of constipation 😂xxx

Oh @Gizmo1983 def get that luxury room!! If working Have you finished up?

im back at triage. I had some more discharge (very normal for this whole pregnancy) last night. I usually get a 50p size clump in the toilet in the evening when I do a poo. Guess everything is relaxed. And I’ve def had that colour but it looked a bit grey/green and I’m now so paranoid.

Definitely worth going back to get it checked out. Hopefully they be able to swab you quickly and give you answers asap. You must be so worried.

Happy he’s still on his curve. I’ve had this every time I’ve done a urine sample. Had the glucose test came back fine. My midwife said it could be from what I’m eating before my appts causing it. I hope it’s the same for you! Xx

Gizmo1983 · 08/12/2025 16:09

Yes @Jadeypie i got flagged up once for diabetes I’d eaten a ham sandwich and half a tub of haagen daaz ( couldn’t afford to do that now 😂😂😂).
@jmrpinkie defo get that discharge checked I’ve had every colour under the sun this pregnancy and a million swabs so we get swabbed before birth these days to check for strep b? Or am I imagining things.
@Sunshinemoom ooh you’re doing the fun bit 😁😁😁

@Gizmo1983they swab for strep B if your known to have it. Or get it a lot. Or my area does that anyway! With my first born had it at 36 weeks as I was prone to strep b infections. They haven’t said anything this time but I’ll ask tomorrow on my next appt.

do happy met your milestone!! I hope your migraine starts to subside they are the worse!! If you’ve got next to me up, car seat, bouncer let’s say and bottles if choosing to formula feed the rest can wait.

I found out yesterday i’m anaemic so waiting to get some iron tablets and some of my liver function is elevated but still in normal ranges for pregnancy but they want to keep an eye on it cause I’m getting really itchy hands and feet! Xx

Gizmo1983 · 08/12/2025 18:54

@Sunshinemoom ooh yes keep an eye on that, crikey we are all just dropping to bits now aren’t we 😂😂😂.
ive just ordered some breastfeeding friendly tops from SHEIN, I have 5 dogs and they always sit on the sofa with me so I’ve treat myself to a feeding chair that only I can fit in with the baby the prices or feeding chairs are crazy so ended up buying a recliner from a sofa shop bit of an investment but hubby and I have pt our Xmas present money towards it whoever has the baby gets priority to sit in it 😂😂😂.
has everyone built their pushchairs just realised I need to order a mattress for the crib totally forgot about that lol xxx

@Gizmo1983i know literally falling to pieces 🤣🤣 but made it to 35 weeks and after the scare he stayed put for another 5 weeks so grateful for that. That’s a good idea. Breastfeeding tops are a shout maybe I need to look at some. I know I need more nursing bras! That’s a good idea who ever got baby gets priority!! No I haven’t built mine yet. It’s still at my mums. I did check it had all the parts before sending it to my mums 🤣 oh yeah need a mattress at least you realised now! Xx

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 08/12/2025 19:29

@Gizmo1983 the pushchair (and the rest of the travel system) is currently living, unbuilt, in my mums spare room so definitely not ready in that way. Next to Me needs building too but hopeful that can wait until I finish work for maternity leave. 3 working days left and can’t wait!

Have my 36 week growth scan tomorrow followed by a phone appointment with one consultant and a midwife appointment in the afternoon. Then on Wednesday it’s my children’s nativity at school followed by a phone appointment with another consultant. Very much hoping I can squeeze a nap in somewhere as my body has been decided that 4am is a perfect wake up time again. Thought I had left that in the second trimester!

Gizmo1983 · 08/12/2025 20:35

@Sunshinemoom i just ordered the tops off SHEIN five pound each in the sale just to get me going and I’ll go from there I’ve literally got nothing built pushchair I checked all was there then boxed it back up crikey the car seat it still at the shop 😂😂😂. You’ve done so well to keep him in the extra 5 weeks 😁😁😁.
@Thegirlhasnamechanged wow 36 weeks you are so close now it’s all getting very real isn’t it. Good luck for your scan tomorrow
just realised how much tidying and wrapping I nill need to do 😬😬😬
