The only thing I have put together is the cot and that’s purely so I have somewhere to store things 😂😂

travel system, Moses basket etc are all in but still in their boxes. Plan is to set them all up after Christmas so they don’t take up too much room

Yes @Jadeypie i got flagged up once for diabetes I’d eaten a ham sandwich and half a tub of haagen daaz ( couldn’t afford to do that now 😂😂😂).
@jmrpinkie defo get that discharge checked I’ve had every colour under the sun this pregnancy and a million swabs so we get swabbed before birth these days to check for strep b? Or am I imagining things.
@Sunshinemoom ooh you’re doing the fun bit 😁😁😁
34 weeks for me today this was my ultimate milestone anything else is a bonus did a little jig but had a whopping migraine yesterday I’m still in bed today it’s awful I’m allowing myself a painkiller every 12 hours 😬😬😬. Getting the nesting urge and seeing how much there is still do be done I’m scared xxx

i did a private group b strep with my first pregnancy and it was positive so they had said months ago they would test me again. When I went in last weds they did swab for it and it’s negative thankfully. They said today everything also looks fine, bloods fine etc.

reassuring you’ve also had loads of discharge colours. Lol. I have too. I’d say I’ve had 6 rounds of swabs because I’ve been unsure what’s normal !! Were your swabs always fine?

Confusedmermaid1 · 08/12/2025 21:55

I’ve ordered some SHEIN maternity/breast feeding clothes. Been wearing the jumpers to work for a while because they fit nicely and the fact they’ve got hidden zips or whatever for breast feeding is a bonus. For the price you can’t go wrong!
I’ve also got nothing built apart from the drawers for her room because I wanted to start putting away her clothes because I’ve got bags of stuff everywhere and it was stressing me out 🙈
I actually just half heartedly packed my hospital bag so I have the bare minimum (nightie, maternity pads, slippers, scrunchie, big knickers 😂) so i feel like ive accomplished something at least 😬 got more to go in there but if push comes to shove at least I have something there!

I’m also on countdown to my last day of work on Thursday, I'm so ready for it. If for no other reason than I’m sick of people commenting on my body/size 🙄 If one more person tells me they think I’ll have the baby this side of Christmas (I’ll be 37 weeks on Christmas Day) I’m going to lose my mind 😅 it’s been 3 separate people in the last week! The midwife says I’m measuring normally (34cm at 34+4 today!) so I don’t get the number of people commenting tbh!

WildFinch · 08/12/2025 22:17

Ahh it's exciting hearing everyone's baby prep. I'm similar @dubkitten I got the snuzpod crib on FB so it was already built and currently full of baby clothes. Plan to put the nursery furniture together between Christmas and New year. I'll be 35w on Christmas Day. Not finishing work until 12 January though.

Gizmo1983 · 09/12/2025 05:43

lol I have the snuzpod too it needs a bit of a clean so I need to work out how best to do that 😬😬😬 and I need to order a new mattress and also work out which mattress I need 🤪🤪🤪. Nothing is ever cheap or easy is it lol.
juat been looking into private strep b tests it’s sad the nhs don’t do them but for £50 May as well just do it and then its another think ticked off the list 🤦‍♀️ especially with having that stitch up there for 6 months xxx

Jadeypie · 09/12/2025 06:15

I find it crazy we are all at the point of talking about organising our baby stuff only felt like yesterday we was all talking about our first positive tests and how nervous we all was!!

Im a orgnaised freak so im done! Which im glad of because I am too uncomfortable and tired to be doing any type of building or organising now haha. I just need to get the car cleaned.

Its all so exciting just think not long now before the announcements start rolling in of these little humans that love to cause havoc hahs we finally get to meet!! Xxx

jmrpinkie · 09/12/2025 06:21

@Gizmo1983 yeah it’s so annoying they dont offer it. But maybe see at your next appointment. Could you say you’re concerned?

@Jadeypie I need you to come to my house!!! I’ve been awake since 4.30 by a bloody car alarm and started to panic is this baby came today I have nothing done so I’ve ordered some premie clothes that hopefully I end up sending back.

Hahaha ive been convinced baby is coming early so I needed everything done because my dp head would fall off trying to organise anything hahaha. Everyone thought I was over the top doing things earlier than usual but swear best thing ive done. And I would recommend to everyone write a list and do it so when you get to the last few weeks its all about taking extra naps and chilling amd some TLC to ones self hshs xxx

Gizmo1983 · 09/12/2025 09:48

@Jadeypie @jmrpinkie 😂😂😂 it’s crazy isn’t it. Stitch comes out 22nd December so that’s when I stop the pessaries as well, I can’t wait I hate those bloody things.
there’s a couple of times I’ve gone to order preemi clothes and held off if they are preemie tends to be just in nappies at 1st don’t they so I figured I have time to buy and wash them though I may be wrong. I’ve bought some up top 6lb as baby is on the 26th percentile so may be a little dot I haven’t washed them yet.
ive just been on the snuzpod site and worked out which mattress I need and the waterproof mattress and the sheets phew nothing is cheap is it 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Yeah I’ve no idea what they need tbh. I’m just going to leave everything in the packet and people online have said the hospitals are usually very good. I doubt many people are prepared for a premie.

so what happens (I know maybe a difficult question) when the stitch comes out - is it very likely you will go in to labour?

If you haven’t already brought off snuzpod. I got mine mattress annd sheets off amazon was so much cheaper.

Sunshinemoom · 09/12/2025 12:44

just had my 36 week appt at 35+3 but turns out I should of already got my c section date even if I was having it at 39 weeks. So they referred me to get it asap and given me the correct email to contact about pulling my section forward so let’s hope I get somewhere now 🤞🏾

I hope so already had an appointment come through for Monday 15th December, so got a growth scan first thing, then consultant appt. So come Monday I should have an answer Monday. My midwife agreed with my reasonings I’ve put forward so fingers crossed 🤞🏾 still had pains on and off that hadn’t changed but instead of getting fed up with it. Just been doing things which make me happy. And napping a lot as I’m off on maternity now 😅 how are you doing? Xxx

Its the lack of progress or change isnt it thats probably mind numbing!! Just sort of stuck in the same cycle! Mondays not too far away to finally get some answers.

Im alright just doing the same really back to the daily naps haha had a meltdown yesterday like haha been getting a few mild niggly period type pains on and off dont stick around and dont have a pattern thinking maybe just body going into the final stretch xxx

Yeah it’s so mind numbing, it’s hard because I can’t fault the care I’m getting in triage. It’s just frustrating when I see the doctors they can’t give me any answers apart from taking painkillers which I don’t wanna take all the time anyway. Yeah, and being stuck in this cycle isn’t gonna be helping I need to just get the oxytocin flowing 😅

the naps are the best!! Hopefully it’s the start of something and your body preparing for the last stretch!! Xxx

WildFinch · 09/12/2025 14:58

@Gizmo1983 I second what @Sunshinemoom says about ordering mattress on Amazon or elsewhere. I got one from mamas and papas. Not the snuzpod brand but compatible. They had waterproof sheets as well so it might be worth shopping around.

WanderWalker · 09/12/2025 21:39

Aw it’s lovely to hear all your updates 😊 I am on the home stretch now. Our baby will arrive at the latest in just under 2weeks, which is scary to even think about!

If it makes you all feel any better on the being organised front…we are still renovating and the house is upside down 🫣 baby does not have a nursery, but the Moses basket is put together. I’m someone who likes to be organised so I’m finding it hell! Some of you sound more organised than me!

Gizmo1983 · 10/12/2025 10:16

Good morning how are we all doing today? My migraine came back last night so that’s 4 days now hoping it just disappears today.
think it’s going to be a lazy day tv in bed for me. Hubby finishes work on Friday so it will be nice to get some stuff ready and actually have some company.
what’s everyone else up to? I have so much house sorting to do I don’t even know where to start but it’s not starting today lol xxx

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 10/12/2025 10:47

I was in MAC yesterday after my growth scan as I was contracting too much, and given I have had previous 36 weekers they are erring on the side of caution.

cervix is closed and high (thankfully) so as the contractions are just under a minute long we are all counting them as ‘very intense’ Braxton Hicks. I’m 2/5 engaged and still having the intense BH this morning so wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t reach the planed section date at the end of the month.

also. I’m bloomin’ knackered.

Sunshinemoom · 10/12/2025 12:11

@Gizmo1983sorry to hear your migraine is back, have you checked your BP just in case? How is your lazy day going? I did the school run this morning, went to M&S for more nursing bras, stopped in the cafe for some breakfasts then got home and laid on the sofa and napped 😅

@Thegirlhasnamechangedhappy to hear cervix is closed and high. Hope they start to subside for you!! Maybe have baby this side of Christmas? I get being knackered I could sleep for hours if possible. Xx

Gizmo1983 · 10/12/2025 13:57

@Sunshinemoom ooh which m and s bras have u gone? So far I’ve just got nursing vests so I need to go get some I should probably get measured no idea what size I am.
yeah I took my blood pressure a few times through the night it’s actually low so I suppose that’s a good thing.
@Thegirlhasnamechanged good that cervix is behaving we are all ticking timebombs now xxx
