I’m opting for an elective c section as had a previous c section for iugr suspected placenta insufficiency. No concerns this time around but I have no desire to undergo a vbac and this will be my last pregnancy.

Previous c section was overall uneventful in my consultants terms 😂 very straightforward, relaxed and recovery was easier than some friends vaginal births.

not sure if what I have experienced is lightening crotch, it’s mildly uncomfortable in the cervix area at times, but thankfully hasn’t stopped me in my tracks - I hope that’s not what is to come @WanderWalker

ive been very crap at keeping up to date here, PGP and back pain, toddler with DP working away - hanging on by very fine thread.

@Nynm23 Good to know your section was a good experience. Hoping for the same but guessing we are all different. Xx

It’s crazy to think this time next month I’ll have finished up work 😱

They want to induce me early because of gestational diabetes so I’ve said I’d rather get a c-section booked in. It seems like inductions tend to lead to emergency c-sections anyway so I’d rather just skip all those interventions! I’ve not got it booked yet as I’ve only just made this decision after learning about induction at antenatal class so I’ll hopefully get it arranged when I’m next at the hospital on Monday.

This was my logic first time round. Also didn’t think it would be sensible going through a lengthy failed induction into emergency c section recovery.

Well the diabetes nurse said 39 weeks but I’m sure the doctor said 37 when I had my first diabetes clinic! So it needs nailing down when I see them next week.

Hi all. I hope everyone’s okay.

Is anyone suffering with bad lightening crotch and have any tips on what I can do to ease it?

I just had to abandon my shopping and go back to the car because mine is that bad it’s stopping me right in my tracks where I don’t want to walk 😭

I was talking to my midwife about this yesterday, mines so bad! It hurts doesnt it? She wasnt worried just said its baby pushing on nerves. I find sitting on my ball helps when at home. When out and about i just have to stop what im doing till it passes. It also makes me feel like Im going to wet myself aswell. These babies just like keeping us on our toes! Haha.

I ended up in triage yesterday for reduced movements. Baby was fine just being a bugger and having a chill day. Im starting to feel like im ready now. The constant aches and pains and just general pregnancy feels like its taking a toll on my body anyone els feel the same? Xxx

My trust will do inductions for GD from 37 weeks but not any electives (GD or otherwise) until 39 weeks which is kind of very irritating. Hopefully your trust is different 🤞

Confusedmermaid1 · 25/11/2025 09:49

@Jadeypie yes the pain is getting to me now. It’s hard not being as mobile as I would like to be, especially with PGP getting worse as I get heavier 😅 and I think you’ve got the PGP worse than me haven’t you so I can imagine you are over it!
I’m still warning her she’s got to wait until January to make an appearance but I might change my tune in a few weeks 😂

Thanks, that’s helpful. They were talking about induction at the time so that makes sense.

It’s so painful! It does feel like nerve pain. I’m getting my ball out tonight and will see if that helps. Thanks.

aw glad baby is all okay. They do like to stress you out before they even arrive don’t they!

I’m feeling the same. I am so ready, everything hurts and I’m so uncomfortable.

I’ve got my c section date and this is a definitely now a Christmas baby! 🫣🎄🧑‍🎄

@Jadeypie So glad your baby is fine. I have an anterior placenta but I am feeling a lot of movement nowadays. I fully expect to be visiting triage for reduced movement sometime before the birth because if baby moves fully behind the placenta may not feel movements so much.
I am constantly tired and i had slightly low iron at my 28 week appointment, despite a good amount in my trimester 3 bits. Trying to eat foods with more iron but not particularly Hungary?

Thank you 😊 I have a posteria so my movements hurt hence the panic when he wasnt trying to break a rib for a whole day haha. I get what u mean with your placenter.

As for tirdness and sickness think thats the lovely third trimester since hitting that my afternoon naps started again and ive suffered with sickness again off all the reflux and baby being higher. We just never catch a break!!

Soon be here xxx

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 26/11/2025 09:37

Has anybody else had really uncomfortable baby movements the past couple of days? I’m sure I had it in my previous pregnancies but just blocked it out but it feels like she is doing pirouettes in there and when she isn’t, it’s as if she’s tickling either my ribs or my cervix (or both). Her movements are stopping me in my tracks at times but no contractions thankfully.

34+3 and just feeling a bit extra pregnant and moody today I think.

Yep this is me!! Im 34+6 and wow he knows how to make me near wet myself with the pushing down haha. And he doesnt kick out so much its more of like big strong movements they hurt my hips or ribs or tickling with his little hands. Its crazy isnt it. I think the movements change as they ate bigger but still consistent like usual xx

Sunshinemoom · 26/11/2025 18:21

Totally get the uncomfortable pains, I risked walking around ikea tonight after having dinner. Felt like baby was going to fall out my vagina as I waddled around 😅🤣

Yea before it was just little pokes here and there but now when they move it feels like my whole tummy is moving with them. Bump feels very heavy and comfortable today and hips are sore - having to sit in rush hour traffic didn’t help

Have you been able to talk to the consultant about removing the stich?

Yeah won’t do it unless I go into labour, if my waters break or if I have an infection. So the plan is to still take it out in my c section.

I don’t have a stitch and completely get this. Crouch to load the washing machine or whatever and so much pressure. I will honestly be surprised if I make it another 5 weeks for the planned section date

It’s crazy to explain the pressure of baby just doing day to day chores. Be interesting to see if make it the 5 weeks!
