Sorry to butt in, which cot bed do you have? I'm looking for suggestions. I'm from the February group, but baby could well be here in January if I have a c section. Will find out at the end of the month what the doctors think is best.

Hi @Eeebee14! I'm due Jan 29 so moved over to this thread. FTM so could we'll be a Feb baby apparently.
I went for this one because I liked how it looked..it apparently lasts until they're about 4 and it's a bit more compact. Nursery is in our box room. Sadly it's no longer on offer. I still need to get a mattress and sheets though.

Hiya, which cot bed you go with? I'm from the February group, the baby could well be here end of January if I need a c section, I think we chatted when you were still part of the February group.
Looking at what I need to buy, FTM here so definitely overwhelmed with what I need and which one!

We just have a cot bed from ikea. Replaced the mattress each time obviously but it’s seen my now 7 year old, 4 year old and this baby will be in it when she moves out of our room. Still looks brand new

dubkitten · 10/10/2025 08:17

@Eeebee14

for the cot bed I went for this one from IKEA as I liked the way you can raise the base:

for the hospital bag, this is the list my maternity hospital has:

I'm just getting eager now to meet him! Ive started washing baby blankets ect and im obsessed with smelling them haha. I think awwww, he will soon be ere 😍 ive finally let myself believe and be excited xxx

Does anyone have a hospital bag list they have created? Ive wrote one and im struggling to think of what i took last time and what was not needed haha. Swear baby brain has fully took over me xxx

I’ve been the same. I don’t think it fully sunk in till my 28 week appointment when the midwife felt my tummy and felt the whole baby and their position.

I love the smell of the freshly washed baby things ❤️ yep not long until you meet him! Very exciting 😊

I’m going to make a start on washing everything too.

I’ve bought all my hospital bag things, it’s just not packed. I bought some cheap zip lock bags off Shein and labeled them, rather than buying the fancy ones. I think that’s so much easier than having to rummage around your bag for things. I don’t really have a list though. I looked on tik tok 🤣 and watched a few videos on there of what people recommended. I think some people have shared listed on there too and I found it quite useful. I did have respect for these ladies packing a whole skin care routine though, mine will be a packet of cheap face wipes and hope for the best 🤣 xx

I always keep my shein bags, so I will be using them to put stuff in. The bags r such a good idea! Im going to do a home bargain trip to get my stuff as for skin care yep wont be doing that. I just about managed a quick shower and teeth brushed last time hahs. @dubkitten posted a handy list before.

Im all done now buying for baby! Started xmas so feel all positive and organised xx

Wonder if anybody can help or has any experience with this. I had a blood test yesterday and my thyroid T4 level is below the normal range (7.9-16) at 7.4.

My GP surgery just tell me to book online to discuss the results with the doctor, but there are no appointments at all in the next month! I stupidly googled, which states that it can cause baby to have brain developmental issues as the thyroid is so important in their development, particularly in the first trimester when they rely on our thyroid etc etc. So now I'm spiraling. I have sent a message to my midwife but I don't know if she'll be able to help with this. I just don't know what to do. My results overall are just listed as "borderline" (got some low red blood cells etc too) and the GP surgery doesn't seem to give a crap, whereas I'm terrified.

Sorry for the rant.

Lolling at skin care. Best of luck to those ones, I love the commitment.

  1. an extra long phone charger lead
  2. prunes/dates (for the c section ladies)
  3. peppermint tea (again, c section ladies)
  4. cheap flip flops
  5. light pjs as the ward is heated to replicate being in the Bahamas
  6. snacks, definitely snacks.
  7. handheld fan

I know it’s really hard not to but try not to panic. I’m going through the same thing. It took me 8 weeks to get an appointment and I was anaemic, I had virtually no B12, my thyroid level is low and I was showing an infection marker. I did exactly the same as you and googled it and had a complete meltdown. My GP was completely useless and gave no information/reassurance at the time. Since then I’ve spoken to both the doctor and midwife who have reassured me that it’s more common than we think. I’m now on iron and had b12 injections for 2 weeks. My GP said you can get a viral infection which can some times mess with the thyroid level. So they usually retest you again (I waited 4 weeks for the retest).
Every medical professional I’ve spoke to since doesn’t seem worried at all and said it can be quite common. Xx

Thank you for your reply and for your reassurance. The GP has finally gotten back to me and advised I've now got to start taking Levothyroxine, but when I'm already almost 25 weeks pregnant it makes me wonder if it's actually going to do any good now. I feel such guilt that I've caused a problem. I guess I won't know until further down the line. Sometimes too much knowledge is a dangerous thing isn't it? Thanks for your kind words and I hope you are doing ok now too.

I can understand how you feel, I’ve been feeling the same, but it’s definitely not your fault! Yes Google is defo the enemy when pregnant, it always shows worst case scenario. I hope you are okay. Sending you a big hug! ❤️

A colleague of mine sent me this list yesterday. His wife is due very soon. It seems thorough!

@dubkitten isn’t it! I tried to film her going mad to show DH because she suddenly stops moving most of the time when he tries to feel but she went camera shy as well 😂

Some of the movements are getting really big now, I don’t know what baby was doing last night but it wasn’t pleasant 😂 thought maybe she was turning but she still seems to be sat in the same position as far as I can tell..

I am so chuffed this third time round as I’ve finally got myself a posterior placenta and have been feeling little squirms for a few weeks now (am 24 weeks). And DH felt one for the first time ever last night too 🥰

Sunshinemoom · 13/10/2025 17:43

How is everyone?

Confusedmermaid1 · 14/10/2025 07:04

Not too bad @Sunshinemoom, how are you?

I'm struggling with sleep more than I thought I’d be at this point 😅 mainly hip pain but I think it’s the weight of side sleeping because I have a pillow between my legs etc. I usually side sleep but more towards my stomach which obviously I can’t do at the moment..

Jadeypie · 14/10/2025 07:35

Oh i had a day yesterday!! Went to my midwife appointment baby measured lovely and heartbeat sounded beautiful, been referred to physio so was all positive untill I mentioned a symtom ive been having.

Ive been having a strange heart beat for 2 weeks and its driving me mad! She sent me to A&E obviously was there for ages. Then my blood pressure was high and had traces of protein in my wee so was sent to triage! But all turnt out fine in the end. and wee has been sent off.

Any way they dont no why ive got the palps and that. No dout ill be bk to my gp because ive still got them and they are really annoying. Midwife said it could be the baby moving on that artery that runs down (the one you crnt sleep on) because its worse when laying down. I did tell ehr I dont sleep on my back and it happens laying on my sides.

Anyway that was my day ffs hahahah little man's doing great though cxx

Happy to hear your well. Minus the rubbish sleep 😴 I totally get the rubbish sleep. I’ve been up since 3am unable to sleep. Yeah sleeping on the side hurts hips after a while!

im all good. I had my baby shower at the weekend which was nice and lovely to see everyone.

What a nightmare for you!! Happy to hear baby measuring well and got to hear heartbeat. Was your measurements the same as what you had measured?

hopefully get your urine sample results back soon, sorry to hear about the strange heartbeat and not having an reason why it’s happening. Hopefully you get answers asap!!

has your midwife booked you in again for 32 weeks? Or 34 weeks to see her next? Xx
