I have just had a positive result! Looks like I’m due early March 2026.
Second baby for me, eldest is 9 in September.

Thought it would be lovely to have somewhere to share our progress

@TheFutureIswhen are you due? And have you started folic acid 5mg yet? Got mine from the GP today. Feeling grateful to have fallen pregnant so quickly as was told I was in perimenopause last year and was on HRT until the beginning of the year when I decided to try for one last baby and stop it.

Bumblebee1984 · 01/07/2025 13:34

Welcome all those who’ve just joined.

@bookworm24I’m also older at 40. Also feeling grateful as was worried it might take a while but only took 2 cycles.

@ZoeOutdoorsoh no poor you feeling sick already. I felt nauseous before testing at only 3 1/2 weeks but it disappeared. With previous pregnancies it’s been around the 6 week mark I’ve felt it really kick in

@EmilyS28i had a bit of cramping last week around the 4week mark

TheFutureIs · 01/07/2025 13:43

@bookworm24I have been taking over the counter folic acid? Should we be having higher dose than that?

OP posts:
bookworm24 · 01/07/2025 14:02

@TheFutureIsif you are over 40 years old, have a BMI of 30 or over, have diabetes or sickle cell or family history of neural tube defect then you need to take 5mg of folic acid until 12 weeks. The one over the counter has a smaller dosage. You would need a prescription from your GP for this. Hope this helped had a look on nhs choices.

Bumblebee1984 · 01/07/2025 14:36

@bookworm24I have had a look online and don’t see anything about this. It says to have the same over 40 as younger people

Hello all! I've decided to join this group finally after getting my first BFP a week ago at 9DPO. Was due AF yesterday and got 2-3 on digital so feeling slightly reassured. EDD of 10th March based on LMP. Very rocky road to get here, so still VERY anxious about whether this one will stick. This is no2, I had 2 early MC before my 1st successful pregnancy with my DS (now 3.5yo). Been TTC number 2 since August last year, had a CP in September, had an early MC in December and then a MMC in March discovered at a private scan at 8 weeks - baby stopped developing at 6 weeks. I had surgical management at almost 10 weeks.

I am waiting for my NHS referral to the recurrent MC clinic and have an appointment with Tommy's on 5th September, which I'm going to keep in case this one doesn't turn out, but hoping I won't need either! I suspect I'm hyperfertile as seem to get pregnant ridiculously easily, just getting them to stick is the problem - so I suspect it's eggs/embryos that a normal womb would reject.

I'm currently not feeling pregnant AT ALL. Had a few early symptoms like vivid dreams, needing to pee multiple times in the night and some pulling/cramping around implantation but that's it. However, it was exactly the same with my little boy, so hoping it will be the same this time around. Still time I guess. I've seen there's a facebook group, which I prefer as easier to interact, so I'll find it and request to join. Fingers crossed for smooth sailing for all of us!

Hi all!

I've been stalking this thread, worried to post because of a few concerns firstly regarding dates and a (too) strong positive (dye stealer at 7dpo!) and secondly due to some spotting and pain.

But the hospital have confirmed this morning all is well and I am 5 to 6 weeks, healthy pregnancy as it stands with a good heartbeat.

So I finally feel confident enough to join in. Star

EmmRach · 01/07/2025 16:51

Requested to join the FB group - just checking it won't show up on my Facebook with the name of the group being quite obvious hahah xx

TheFutureIs · 01/07/2025 16:55

I made the group private so unless someone searches for it, we should all be “safe”
Thats fab news @EmmRachmust be such a relief! I’m thinking about an early scan for reassurance and because I’m impatient to see baby!

I’ve got an early scan booked for 3 weeks time so I’ll be 8 weeks

TheFutureIs · 01/07/2025 17:23

Can either do one before or after our holiday, so I’d either be 8 weeks or 10 weeks

Hi there, tentatively joining. I have a 5 year old and we’ve been trying for our second for two years with two very complex miscarriages along the way.

I’m only 12dpo right now and not even missed my period, my tests are fairly light (but also cheapies so not sure if that makes a difference), I had a hcg draw of 120 today (and 100+ progesterone) which from what I’ve read online seems quite positive for 12dpo?

Still very much feel in limbo, as I’ll be closely monitored with blood draws for the foreseeable I’ve actually decided to stop testing as they are making me incredibly anxious.

Me too! I’m 5+1 today and whilst I still have tender boobs / they feel a bit heavier and no sign of my period I’ve been feeling a bit anxious as the cramping I had last week has died down and I don’t really feel pregnant. Also have a raging cold sore and been furiously researching, in the end I decided to take my medication for it because I get them so severely and there are several studies showing no increased risks from it. It’s been ages so I suspect it’s due to lowered immunity but I’d much rather not be taking any medication at all

TheFutureIs · 01/07/2025 21:03

Aciclovir is safe during pregnancy @DobryWieczor

Thanks @TheFutureIs - that’s what I’ve been taking but I’ll be pleased when it’s gone!

TheFutureIs · 01/07/2025 21:25

I had shingles twice in my last pregnancy. Had it again last cycle and really got my hopes up…. But 2 days later my period arrived. Then was lucky this cycle

👋 hey & congrats to everyone that’s joined :)

I’ll be having at least one early scan between 6&8 weeks. Hoping to have it around 7, then going to plead for another around 10 weeks but may have to go private for that. Hoping I’ll have the date through from my consultant by the end of this week/start of next.
Don’t think I will relax at all until I see the blob on the screen with a heartbeat x

The anxiety is hard isn’t it! I’ve got cramping and back ache and basically feel like I’m going to come on constantly. I would be due on today so it’s such early days. It’s quite cruel that the symptoms for early pregnancy overlap so much with the symptoms of coming on your period!

Yes it is! I feel exactly the same as you! I’ve got an early scan next Friday so hoping it goes well! 🤞🏻

Renee33 · 02/07/2025 17:04

Hi ladies hope you don’t mind if I join. Congrats to you all! Got my vvfl on Tuesday last week and have been testing regularly just to make sure there is progression. I am starting to to get dye stealers so I will stop now with strips and take a digital to see if I get 2-3 now. This is my first cycle trying for baby no.3. We were actually supposed to start trying properly from August but hey God had other plans and moved up my ovulation date by 4 days to the day we dtd. My letter came through for my 8 week appointment for 3 weeks time and I just can’t wait! Anyone considering window to the womb before their nhs appointment? Also if baby comes March 8-10 and not end of feb I would have 3 kiddies all born in March ☺️

TheFutureIs · 02/07/2025 17:22

I’ve just booked a private scan, going to have it just before we go away on holiday. I’ve bought the book “mummy laid an egg” for my little one, so will probably give that to her with a scan pic

MummyV2021 · 02/07/2025 18:28

@Renee33 hello cycle twin!! Exciting you're getting dye stealers - which strip tests have you been using?? Our tests were very similar early days and I got a 2-3 on the digital on Monday so I imagine you definitely would by now!

I've booked a scan with window to the womb for 6+1 (2 weeks today). We used them for my little boy and they were amazing! I would rather wait til 7 weeks but am literally going away for a family holiday for my mum's 60th that day and want a bit of reassurance/definitive evidence there is an actual pregnancy before I have to half announce it to everyone as there is a hot tub and there'll be drinking... so if I'm doing neither it will be super obvious! They all know we're trying and about the losses, so they would definitely suspect. I really want to tell my mum anyway, but so nervous to tell anyone yet!

Window to the womb have actually tried to call me today and left a voicemail wanting to discuss my booking. I have a suspicion they're going to try and convince me to wait until 7 weeks (although why they offer scans from 6 weeks when they'd rather you wait until 7 I have no idea!!)

Peanutbutterjelly123 · 02/07/2025 19:10

We got our scan date through today for 2 weeks today. I think I will be just over 6 weeks 🤞
