I have just had a positive result! Looks like I’m due early March 2026.
Second baby for me, eldest is 9 in September.

Thought it would be lovely to have somewhere to share our progress

It normally is a very interesting job! But going to be a bit more boring if I do have a successful pregnancy and am doing everyone's admin for the next 7/8 months!

Hopeloveandkindness · 29/07/2025 17:53

it’s strange I feel tired etc throughout day but it’s not extreme or anything.

I also feel really sick when I first wake up and like my boobs are heavy then during morning it comes and goes but I was defo worse last week I was actually physically sick twice so I’m hoping this is not a bad sign (with the 3 days of on and off bleeding for a few hours each time) keep thinking I hope I didn’t miscarry but I suppose the scan will tell. I did change my pessaries to the second hole 🤣after the third day of it and so far it’s stopped but closer to my scan I’m getting I’m starting to worry it’s never ending!! Just trying to stay positive that the bleed was not heavy

Ginnygi · 29/07/2025 18:25

@Hopeloveandkindness is your scan on Thursday?

Also had my scan last week and seen a heart beat and was measuring fine however the blood just scared me so hoping it’s all ok still 🙏🏻

Ive had a sudden decrease in nausea and reduced smell but my boobs hurt more? I dont know if im just managing it better as im forcing myself to eat but i guess i am worried seeing as they measured me behind on the scan..i feel like going into work will help ease tomorrow as my symptoms are worse in environments i cant control- i have a desk job but would rather wfh if i can as it means im less tired..im not sure if i should say anything though to work and if so when ?

I think you legally have to tell them before 26 weeks (from memory) but more of your job includes certain activities which could endanger you / your unborn baby. You can opt to tell them and anyone else any time you like though!
I'd like to wait till 12 weeks but depending on how the survey goes this evening, I might say something earlier... Don't know... Don't think we can change much to be honest, we're stretched as it is the next 2 months so I will try to push on & hide it.

Peanutbutterjelly123 · 29/07/2025 20:08

Just caught up on about 8 pages of messages, so can’t respond to everything, but just wanted to say I’m so happy for those that have had positive scans. And so sorry to those that have had bad news 💔

I had my booking apt today at 8 weeks. It’s the midwife who has seen me through my previous pregnancies & knows my history. She has booked me in for another scan on Thursday. & had also referred me to the rainbow clinic & put me on the pathway for extra scans and appointments later on which is nice. It’s reassuring to know there is some sort of plan in place already x

I thought it's 24 but could be 26.

Told my manager at 12 last time and there was a lot of pressure for me to tell the rest of colleagues but I didn't want to, I wanted to wait till 20 weeks. So I had to push back and stand my ground.

I'd like to wait until 20 weeks before telling my manager this time but I know it wouldn't go down well.

Mummysparrow · 29/07/2025 20:48

I have told my senior and team leader already due to the amount of appointments I will have as I am high risk and under a few teams. Plus a risk assessment surrounding your job can be done. My HR team aren't aware yet and my team don't know yet.

It might be 24, I was hesitating between 23 and 26 so it's somewhere in there. Have to admit I've not looked it up and my work will be well aware before then so... shrugs

Bumblebee1984 · 30/07/2025 05:45

I plan to tell work after my scan which is at 13 weeks but we go in the office once a week so might wait until I’m in the office which will be week after at 14 weeks. I’ll see

@Peanutbutterjelly123thats nice you have same midwife. I’m really hoping I do too. I have mine on Friday. That’s great there’s a good plan in place for you too

IHaveItPrintedOut · 30/07/2025 08:09

Re. Informing work. The official definition is 15 weeks before the expected week of childbirth. So like 24/25 weeks depending on what day of the week baby is due 😆

I've already told my manager and the other team leads on my team. I have no poker face and work in healthcare, so it's easier than trying to find excuses not to do certain things all of sudden 😅

Baby26 · 30/07/2025 08:21

My whole department knows, which is annoying (especially as I did have a miscarriage last time) but it's just the way things have to be for my baby's safety. I work with chemicals so I have to avoid working with certain ones, and then it becomes obvious to everyone, because there's only one reason women avoid certain chemicals! I'm only 7 weeks!

LevelOneAgain · 30/07/2025 08:35

Oh dear, I'm away getting everyone in trouble the saying the deadline is 26 weeks when it's actually earlier! Sorry, not intended 😅

I've not got the same midwife as she's retired since DS. Such a shame, she was fantastic.

TheFutureIs · 30/07/2025 08:43

My midwife is someone who I did NCT classes with first time. Hoping she’s better than my first one who was awful!

I will be about 10 weeks when I go back to school in September. I don’t really want to tell anyone until after October half term. Parts of my school leak like a sieve and I’m worried they’ll take my year 11 classes off me and make me teach all KS3, even though I’ll be there until pretty much Easter. This is the first year I’ve only had one KS3 class and I’m really looking forward to it!

We fly home today and I’ve woken up feeling pretty rough - hope it’s just holiday tiredness and too much nice food!

mumtrovert · 30/07/2025 11:38

Why am I watching the 10 second video of my baby’s heart beating and counting each beat and timesing it by 6 and googling. Why do I do this to myself 🙃🙃🙃
Also should never have looked back at DS’ 7 week scan because his is so much faster.

Uuuggghhh!! 😩 just have to remind myself the sonographer said there was nothing wrong with the heartbeat.

This is going to be a very long two weeks

How many beats per minute are you getting?

If sonographer said all good, I'd go with it ❤️

mumtrovert · 30/07/2025 13:04

@Ginnygi I count 126, OH counts 132. So all technically fine but obviously my brain needs more things to worry about. 😂😂 I think anything over 120 is considered good. So at the lower end of normal (my count).

Editting to add.. this is also with a 5+6 embryo (although should be 7+2). Whereas my DS measured bang on so probably bound to be faster. So I guess 126 at 6w is quite good. Just need it to grow now.

Ginnygi · 30/07/2025 13:37

I had a very low HR in the past. It definitely wasn't even close to 120. It wasn't good news obviously but I really wouldn't worry about the rate you saw ☺️

Reaaaaally strong cramps tonight which I am not enjoying at all - think I may have pushed myself too hard with gardening earlier today 😬
