I have just had a positive result! Looks like I’m due early March 2026.
Second baby for me, eldest is 9 in September.

Thought it would be lovely to have somewhere to share our progress

The digital tests can be stressful

Last week I got 2-3 in the evening, 2 days later I done one with fmu and got 1-2, completely freaked out. Done another one yesterday and it was 3+.

Mushroo · 18/07/2025 10:22

@Hopeloveandkindness yes to the lack of sleep. I also keep waking up about 4 / 5am wide awake and can’t get back to sleep, then shattered for the rest of the day!

FizzLemon · 18/07/2025 12:04

@Hopeloveandkindness@Mushroo I’m the same. Wide awake at 4/5am - I found that taking some extra magnesium glycinate supplements helps (at least I don’t wake up at 3pm anymore unless it’s for a wee).

Turns out my hives yesterday were just from random insect bites I had an allergic reaction too! Finding it hard to work out if something is random or pregnancy related these days 🙈

Mushroo · 18/07/2025 12:07

@FizzLemon thanks for the tip! That sounds so stressful with the hives, I’m also second guessing everything.

I’ve been quite unwell with a cold and it’s so hard to know what’s illness and what’s pregnancy tiredness / hormones!

I did get some magnesium on Monday so hopefully it kicks in soon!!

glad you got the hives issue sorted 🙌☺️

Hello, I haven’t commented yet but been reading along. I am 5 weeks today, first ever pregnancy. Can someone tell me what happens at the first midwife appointment? Are any blood tests taken? I’ve always thought u have low progesterone (light periods, short luteal phase) so I really want to get me levels tested but doesn’t seem to be the norm unless you’ve had a loss?

It's a big old interrogation, I'll warn you! The NHS page is quite helpful, I don't really remember the blood tests but I do remember that they love to get urine off you at every possible opportunity 😅

Got a new car today - spent most of the salesmanship spiel about T&Cs trying not to vom on his forms 🤢

My first appointment included an awful lot of questions. I knew I'd been ill when I was born and my mum had had trouble and that we'd both been hospitalised for a while. But didn't know the details when I had my first appointment. They wanted to know everything in my case to see if it could be relevant to my first pregnancy so I had to go ask my mum for all the dirty details before my 12 week scan. Other questions included diabetes, high blood pressure, vaccines you've had/not, that kind of thing. Can't remember the rest, but it was an hour of questions!

So be warned, go with knowledge of all your personal family health history, be aware of any gaps you won't be able to fill, or know they'll want you to fill them on your next appointment.

Fullrecoveryispossible · 18/07/2025 18:37

Tentatively posting…I got a positive on Sunday and have been taking far too many tests over the week. It’s actually getting a bit obsessive and now I’m worrying they’re not getting stronger. Here’s to the dreaded wait to see if the line continues to progress

Due March 2026
Mummysparrow · 18/07/2025 18:51

@Fullrecoveryispossiblei am assuming you have taken more than one test a day? I see like progression there. I know it is hard but try not to worry. I took tests for a few days but stopped now as I think it will add to my anxiety

Casper94 · 18/07/2025 22:47

@mumtrovert I can understand your anxiety, hopefully your beta test tomorrow will help alleviate some of it ❤️

This hunger is getting ridiculous. I'm not even over exaggerating when I say I'm ravenously hungry on the hour every hour. As soon as I've eaten it starts building back up again! I hope this doesn't go on for the entire pregnancy 😅 also had my first food aversion today - usually love volvic strawberry flavoured water and now it leaves the most disgusting taste in my mouth - actually quite excited about it as didn't get any in my first pregnancy 🤣

Bumblebee1984 · 19/07/2025 06:50

Sorry I’ve not been active on here for a few days as been away on holiday. welcome to all the new joiners.

@Fullrecoveryispossibleas has been said I’d suggest putting the tests away. You are pregnant and there is progression. I think it can cause anxiety for lots of people. I’ve only tested 2/3 times each pregnancy.

@Papill19yes it’s a long appointment so be prepared. At least an hour and so many questions about all the family medical history. Blood pressure weight height and they take a urine sample so make sure you don’t go to the toilet just before. I did this first time and had to guzzle water then go later in the appointment lol.

those feeling super hungry, I am too and last pregnancy @Hopeloveandkindnessi had the same if I was hungry I felt sick so had to eat very regularly to keep the nausea at bay.

@mumtrovertI hope the test can give you some peace of mind.

@MI55BumbleBeawith both previous pregnancies I exercised all the way through. Have continued ligfting weights this time too. As long as you’ve been exercising previously it’s ok to continue. You just need to listen to your body and adapt things as necessary and as you progress. Especially core related and not lying on your back What were you doing previously?

I have my booking appointment at 9 weeks on 1st August. Will have had my scan by that appointment which will be nice as that’s next Wednesday

worldwidetravel2017 · 19/07/2025 07:59

Well
6 wks preg woo

But been diagnosed with aps / apls :(

FlossiePot91 · 19/07/2025 08:36

I had a bit of fresh blood last night, twice when going the loo and wiping. Has anyone experienced this and all been ok? Or am I expecting the worst to come? At 6 weeks I’m assuming it’s too late for implantation.

MummyV2021 · 19/07/2025 08:59

Sorry I’ve not been too active on here and welcome to all newbies!! I’m away in wales for my mums birthday and having a lovely time. Was good to have the scan beforehand and be able to share the news with a few close family. It’s so nice when it’s no longer just your secret anymore! Not sure when we’ll tell anyone else. Need to tell my dad as he’s the only one in my family who doesn’t know. I’ve also got some close friends who know everything and have been on similar TTC journeys so will be nice to share with them.

Similar to a few others I’ve been waking up hungry and sick which is not like me at all. My nausea has also been getting a lot worse in the car - I don’t think the windy Welsh roads help though!!

That sounds scary @worldwidetravel2017what were your symptoms?
No experience of bleeding during pregnancy @FlossiePot91myself but I do know of ladies who have bled on and off throughout and they have had healthy babies

worldwidetravel2017 · 19/07/2025 09:51

U could have a hematoma

Is it an ivf pregnancy?
Talk to 111 or epu

No not IVF. EPU only seem available on weekdays so might see how I go til Monday. My sis is a midwife so she’s been advising as best she can. Never had any bleeding with my 1st so just don’t feel good about it

I've had a streak of blood when I wipe too, 2 days ago my discharge was slightly pink and today some streaks of red. I didn't have any bleeding with my first either, so getting a bit worried. I'm 7+5 and have my booking appointment in 9 days, might see how I get on over the weekend.

mumtrovert · 19/07/2025 14:29

Update. Beta was 3366. Pretty low unfortunately from what I’ve read online but clinic say there’s no concern.

Mummysparrow · 19/07/2025 14:36

6+0 today

Mummysparrow · 19/07/2025 14:45

@mumtrovertthat sounds like a great number for 6 weeks. The importance is that your numbers are increasing at at good speed. When was the last blood draw and how high was your HCG then?

It’s so worrying isn’t it. I haven’t had any today but feel like I’m just waiting for it now 😢 Hopefully it’s just one of those things for us and all will be ok 🤞🏼
