Yes!😩 it’s always worse in the morning, then between 1-3 I get a burst of energy, then by bedtime I’m crawling up the stairs because my legs feel like they’re dragging😂

I'm jealous of your burst of energy, I have so little. Doing anything is such a chore right now.

MyPinkOP · 10/07/2025 12:16

hey! Just wondering how others are coping with the first trimester anxiety/wait until first scan! It’s true when they say first trimester is is isolating!

I’m currently 8+2 and feel like I need constant reassurance! I had an early private scan at 6+1, measuring 6+2 and even saw/heart heartbeat. Booking appt and scan isn’t until 13 weeks, but the wait is so long! Told myself I would hold out until about 9/10 weeks to book another private scan!

Elbone · 10/07/2025 12:36

I’ve really not thought about being pregnant very much. We had family over for a couple of days and my husband bought me stuff int to have espresso martinis and I was chuffed for a few hours until I remembered I can’t drink 😂 so we’re having no problem at all not telling anyone.
With my first pregnancy, I literally thought of nothing else.

@MyPinkOP I've had 3 scans! 6, then 9. Then I was going to wait until the NHS scan but they didn't even book my booking appointment in until 11 weeks and said it would be a wait of a few weeks for the scan. So I got a private one at 11 again. Honestly it's so worth it for me to help my anxiety. After I'm out the first trimester I think I'll just have the NHS scans as the chances of things continuing normally are much higher.

Hey I’m 8+3 today, had a private scan at 6 weeks then emergency due to discomfort and saw the heart beat. That was two weeks ago. Have another scan on Saturday so will be 8+5 then hoping that will see me through to 12 week scan. Completely get your anxiety but just remember that seeing a heart beat is a really positive sign and reduces any chances of issues drastically. Have you had any pain or bleeding? I’m super anxious to spoke to my midwife as symptoms have fluctuated lots this week but she reassured me things are most likely fine as no pain or bleeding apart from mild cramps which again have reduced drastically this week as normal xx

Thank you! Our dates are fairly similar! I haven’t had any pain or bleeding, and wouldn’t even say cramps, at at most some occasional pinches! I have had nausea, and been sick most dates and that’s kinda lightening up to once a day now! So no real reason to think all is not ok, it’s my first pregnancy so this is my only experience! I had read somewhere that even you really need to see a heartbeat at 8/9 weeks for those risks to decrease! Some days are definitely easier than others.

Thank you! You have made me feel slightly more same! I am in two minds as to whether extra scans will help or worsen my anxiety! As others have said in previous threads, it helps temporarily! As you say getting out of the first trimester is the key milestone, and when you start to have more appointments it all feels more real, whereas now it’s a bit of limbo!

This is my first pregnancy too. The risk reduces again the further into the first trimester you go with a heart beat however seeing it in the middle of my 6th week has brought my slight confidence and I try to look at it that way☺️

23 and pregnant for the second time, due feb 28th! I’m 6wks+5 and started bleeding a bit more than spotting and I’m kind of freaking out a little. How much blood is too much? No clots and only slight cramping

youngspinach · 11/07/2025 10:01

How is everyone getting on? I’m officially 8 weeks today… still doesn’t feel real though. I don’t think it will feel real until I have my private scan on Monday and see if there’s actually something there, and if it’s doing OK!

I have my midwife booking in appointment today though, so it will be good to get in the NHS system.

Symptoms are still quite light but trying not to overthink it and just enjoy feeling normal for now.

I take it back, these past two days are killing me off🥵 pregnancy and heat do not go hand in hand!

8 weeks also today, booking appt is Monday for me! And then booking a private scan for around 9 weeks.

my sickness and nausea are the worst and not much of an appetite! I know a lot of women don’t have many symptoms in pregnancy, I think we just react to hormone changes and things different!

fingers crossed for your scan!x

The heat is making everything quite hard work! I’m 10 weeks tomorrow and have my booking appointment on Monday - hopefully scan booked in for not long after this!
Does anyone else who already has children feel like their stomach muscles are relaxing/preparing for a bump already? I feel like mine are saying ‘here we go again’! And that I’ll start showing quite soon this time around 😅

@Floralcat I am glad it’s not just me 😅 at this rate I won’t need to ‘announce’ anything. Genuinely having to consider what I’m wearing!

Sorry to hear. I found keeping the blinds/curtains closed and having a fan on keeps the room cool. I hope you feel better soon

WildFinch · 14/07/2025 09:32

How's everyone getting on? I've got my 12 week scan next Monday, I've already had two very weird dreams about it! Does anyone else sleep on their front? I guess it's still ok to do that at this early stage?

Wednesdayonline · 14/07/2025 10:37

My 12 week scan is this week! I think sleeping on your front is okay until you have a bump? I assume anyway.

WildFinch · 14/07/2025 11:00

Ahh that's exciting @Wednesdayonline do let us know how it goes. Yes that's what I figured re. sleeping on my front. I'm feeling quite fat/bloated but I don't think I can claim a bump yet!

Wednesdayonline · 14/07/2025 11:03

@WildFinch I'm soooo bloated it's ridiculous 😂

youngspinach · 14/07/2025 11:11

I have my first private scan later today at 8+3, really anxious as all my symptoms have almost completely disappeared the last week or two so fully expecting to hear bad news. Looking forward to having some clarity either way though.

2Sugars2 · 14/07/2025 11:18

good luck with your scan @youngspinach
