We finally filled up the 1st one🎉
Can’t believe we’re already half way, feels like just yesterday those two pink lines showed up.

Yay! Thanks @emmatcc1 ☺️
Yes, I feel like it’s flying by at the moment.

JMassey · 13/06/2025 08:55

I hit 24 weeks yesterday which feels like a nice milestone ❤can't believe how quickly its going!

emmatcc1 · 13/06/2025 10:43

@JMassey Viability week already!!! So exciting!

@CustardCream31 I feel like I can finally enjoy the pregnancy because the scan yesterday showed everything is as it should be. No hematoma or detached membrane, whatever that even was. I’m also off progesterone for over a week now and had no more bleeding.

Hi everyone! So glad I found the part 2 of this thread! I wish there was a way to let the other ladies on the original thread find this new one!
I had my repeat 20 week scan today and it all went really well. They managed to get the bits they needed and the scan has all been signed off. My anxiety got really bad over that two weeks but I managed to speak with the mental health midwife who gave me alot of reassurance. Got my femur scan next week which I’m feeling a lot less nervous about thanks to the midwife who basically explained that like people, babies are all different proportions and grow at different rates. 3rd percentile is still within the range of normal it’s just right at the bottom end and so therefore they like to check its growing even if it’s on its own curve. I saw their legs today and they had definitely grown. Just can’t wait to meet them now xx

HayleyD93 · 13/06/2025 21:42

Sorry me again.
After my scan on Tuesday I felt rather uncomfortable almost painful and put it down to the pressure of the scan but I'm still getting pain on my left hand side around my nicker line area of my belly.
Is this normal? Has anyone else had this? It's not all the time more noticeable when stood up or walking but sometimes its enough to nearly stop me.
I don't want to ring midwife if its completely normal for a few days after the scan especially with another in a few days time.
Thanks

Is anybody else absolutely melting in the heat right now?!? Not looking forward to peak summer!

Sorry, no idea with the pain/discomfort - I had a pain on the front of my bump the other day, but think I'd pulled a muscle as it went away overnight.

Heat is killing me! I hate being hot anyway, but I've been sick twice this week despite medication and I'm pretty sure it's because I'm too hot.

Had my 20 week scan and baby girl was refusing to move so I have to go back in a couple of weeks. I'm assuming its mostly due to placenta location (it's high and at the front), but I don't feel her move half as much as I remember my son moving. I might be just remembering his movement from later on though, and at 21 weeks I know it's too early to really worry. She does move and I do feel it slightly, but just not a lot.

emmatcc1 · 14/06/2025 19:31

@Hayels94 Maybe round ligament pain?
I don’t even bother going out in this heat, we got it slightly hotter here in my country than the uk.

@squishousdelicious My baby also didn’t want to move at the scan. He was head down with his arms AND legs by his head. They saw almost everything but they still wanna check the heart again because of the way he was laying his spine was casting a shadow over his chest.

@HayleyD93I’ve had on and off pain pretty much throughout the last few weeks very low down in the middle and everything is showing as normal. If you are worried though do give the triage line a call and ask!

Hope everyone is doing well 😊 Had my 20 week scan and everything looks great - confirmed as a baby boy. Sickness is finally calming down and it’s such a relief, although I feel exhausted. Thanks for the new thread!

HayleyD93 · 16/06/2025 20:14

I've had a Google and it does seem like round ligament pain so ill definitely mention it to my midwife.

Had a phone call this morning cancelling the rescan tomorrow. This is the 3rd appointment that has been cancelled now, I had midwife on 4th August, cancelled and rescheduled. Consultant on 1st September cancelled but cancelled letter doesn't match the appointment time on the original letter 🙈 and rescheduled.

For my scan she just told me keep your phone close as you will have a short notice appointment when we can fit you in, I did say cancelling after such a poor appointment last week isn't helping anxiety when I wasnt even told other checks were OK or not and have built myself up all week for tomorrow, arranged someone to come with me and now I have no idea if I'll have to go on my own.

Going to bring this all up with my midwife as her appointments are the only ones so far that haven't been made, cancelled and remade.

emmatcc1 · 16/06/2025 21:30

@HayleyD93 How frustrating that must be. I get canceling Once a week prior for whatever reason, but canceling 2-3 months in advance seems unreasonable to me.

And they've only changed it by a few hours from 1/2pm to 9am so no real reason for it. They also cancelled it in a matter of days as I was on holiday when the appointment and cancellation letters arrived.
Tomorrow has annoyed me the most as I was given no information last week and was just all round not a positive experience, and now told we will just ring you at short notice to come in. They would be the 1st to complain if appointments are cancelled last minute.

fluffyprawn · 17/06/2025 07:05

@HayleyD93that’s very frustrating, especially with your compiling anxiety from the previous scan. Also some people wouldn’t be able to just drop everything and come in at short notice! Very unfair on you. May I ask which district you’re in? Are you in the uk?

I'm Aneurin Bevan health board, South Wales. Nevill hall hospital I have always previously found to be very good especially compared to the newly built The Grange hospital where I'll have to give birth.

BeSunnyPinkBiscuit · 18/06/2025 22:49

Glad I found the new thread it did take a while!
I had my 25 week appointment today and so finally heard the heart beat which was nice 150 beats per minute midwife said she thought it was a girl as it sounded like a galloping horse and not a train which is what a boys heart is supposedly meant to sound like - I don't know, never heard of that one before. My tummy was measuring 2 weeks behind so that puts me on the 10th centile which had made me worried but I am under a consultant so in 4 weeks I will be having a scan to check things. There never seems to be time to not worry when pregnant. The midwife measured it on my sofa so she did say that isn't really accurate anyway 🤯

emmatcc1 · 18/06/2025 23:20

@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit My ob doesn’t even measure my belly and I’m fine with that. Some have a huge bump while other are barely showing at the same point in pregnancy. If the baby is measuring on track I wouldn’t even worry.

OP posts:
squishousdelicious · 19/06/2025 07:55

@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit fundal measurements aren't particularly accurate, so don't let it worry too much! The main thing they're used for is to keep an eye on the rate of growth, so as long as you don't go dramatically below or above that centile line, it's not likely to be a big problem at any point.

And even if they do change centiles, it's often because the baby has changed position or similar. Usually, they'd then book you another scan, so you get to see baby again! I agree though, always something to worry about and that doesn't change once they arrive 😆🙈

emmatcc1 · 21/06/2025 15:50

Anyone else experiencing cramping but only feel in across the middle and lower back? Not sure what it is happened last week twice and today once, only lasts for less than a minute and doesn’t come back. No hardening of the uterus or any other symptoms. I’m wondering if it’s due to the severe blockage in my kidney.

OP posts:
pumpkinpatches22 · 21/06/2025 18:42

@emmatcc1 I get crampy back pains and have since the early days. Both middle an lower. I’ve read that it’s due to the muscles shifting with the increase of the hormone relaxin and should worry if it’s severe or keeps getting worse and can’t be alleviated with a change in posture or sitting down. I find mine kicks in when I’ve been on my feet a lot and I find yoga stretches quite helpful.

Also just thought I would update anyone who was wondering or who had asked about all our scans. We had our repeat 20 week scan and it was completed without any further issue. No abnormalities noted which was a huge relief. We had our femur scan yesterday. Baby’s legs are still small but had grown 8mm in 3 weeks and had gone up to the 4th percentile - so still small but they’re moving up rather than tailing off which is hopefully a good sign. I think we’re only like 0.5mm off from being on the 5th and 4mm off the 50th. Their head and tummy were all within normal range. Their humerus was on the 9th so again small but within normal range and the overall fetal weight had increased from 14% to 32%. Still got a niggling worry about femurs but feel reassured that they’ve grown, seem to at least be growing on a steady upward curve and are within the range of normal - just still the lower end. The consultant said with our results they don’t usually ask us back until 35 weeks but has asked us to come back for another scan at 28 weeks to check growth again and hopefully if they continue on their own growth curve (even if a little small) then he can discharge us early. I had my uterine artery Doppler scan to check placenta blood flow and that all came back good so fingers crossed it’s not a growth issue and we just have a small baby. Hope everyone is doing okay! Next month we only have 3 full months left until October!

Livybaby · 23/06/2025 12:56

Glad I’ve found the second thread. Also can’t believe how quickly time is going! im finding things difficult at the moment with pelvic pain and sciatica. I do have an appointment with physiotherapist next month so hoping helps.

CustardCream31 · 23/06/2025 14:03

@Livybabypelvic/sciatic pain is the worst in pregnancy 😫 glad you’ve got a physio appt booked. Mine is way worse if I’ve done too much walking, or bending, or even pushing a heavy shopping trolley!! Have you looked into pelvic support bands on Amazon? Mine offers some relief on bad days.

@emmatcc1sorry you’re suffering with that pain. Sounds like it could be to do with kidneys in that area though? Have you run it past your midwife?

@pumpkinpatches22 glad your 20 week repeat scan went well and has offered some reassurance. Great news. Arghh that’s crazy when you break it down to only 3 full months left next month 😱🤩 still can’t believe it lol.

I’ve got my 20 week rescan on Thursday. And cervical length scan to be done properly this time because they didn’t to it properly last time apparently….. my faith in hospitals, etc is so low from last time and this isn’t helping!

Had some bloods done recently for something non-pregnancy related. My liver levels are elevated which is causing stress. This happened in my previous pregnancy and led to an awful induction. I did message my midwife but yet again not had a response when I need one! Stressss….

emmatcc1 · 23/06/2025 14:09

@CustardCream31 Do you take any medication? I’ve had high liver tests about a year ago. Had repeat test done every 2-3 weeks including an ultrasound and they found nothing. Once they started going down they just said it was due to medication but they never tracked them back to regular levels so I’m not sure where they’re at now.

OP posts:
CustardCream31 · 23/06/2025 14:11

Thanks for this idea, but no - not on anything. I had severe liver and gallbladder issues in my previous pregnancy. So it just feels like another FU from my body to make this stressful again 🥲🙃 we shall see… will ask for bloods to be repeated again soon to monitor it.

Wildflowers15 · 26/06/2025 12:43

Hello!

Just found this second thread.

I am wondering if anyone else is getting a lot of Braxton Hicks? I am 24 + 2.

The last two nights I have gotten about 5-6 across a 1.5-2 hour window.

I called the midwife this morning and she said it should be OK if no bleeding or leaking. Also, as long as they don't start to get into a pattern or reduce in how long they last/become painful then it's nothing to be overly concerned about.

Not long after I spoke with her, of course they have started again.

This is baby number 3 and I don't remember having so many like this in my last two pregnancies.

Anyone else experienced similar?

I remember in my first pregnancy that i had a day around 30 weeks where I was constantly feeling a tightening, like tiny contractions but almost non-stop. Not painful but quite distracting when I knew it was too early. It wasn't a problem and I went home from work to just sit around and rest (bonus 😆).

I had a repeat 20 week scan yesterday, and during it the sonographer said I was having a contraction. She didn't seem at all surprised or worried and I couldn't feel anything - I guess it's actually quite normal and we are just unaware most of the time. Might be a sign for you to take it a bit easier?
