I can’t remember if I got them in my first pregnancy or not 😆 sorry. Scary the things you forget from the first time around isn’t it.

Had our 20 week re-scan today - all looking great 🥰 such a relief. Cervix is measuring 4cm this time (instead of 3cm 2 weeks ago, but that was done externally and it shouldn’t have been!).

Random question for you ladies… are you keeping your wedding rings/any rings on?? My fingers are deffo more swollen already and I struggle to get my rings off… really can’t remember what I did last time 😫 don’t want to get to the stage where they are too tight and need cutting off lol. But I don’t want to have to take them off!! 💍

When we got married, I purposefully ordered a ring that was larger in size than recommended because I hate the tight feeling around my finger! During my first pregnancy, I remember having to at least sleep with it off, though not sure if I took it off permanently at any point...

It's always been a little tighter since then, but I'm not yet at a point where I need to remove it regularly. I imagine it'll come eventually though

CustardCream31 · 26/06/2025 22:11

Thanks @squishousdelicious!
Suppose with the warmer weather coming back it will make it inevitable soon, won’t it…!

I'm feeling really good atm. I do find it hard moving around in the floor playing with my toddler then getting up but apart from that I'm feeling great. I have a growth scan on Tuesday followed by a consultant appointment. The one thing that is slightly worrying me is that the next maternity unit closest to mine has closed so mine is now taking a whole extra district of labouring mum's so worried about how busy and flat out the midwives will be working but there 8smt much I can do about that how are you @CustardCream31

CustardCream31 · 08/07/2025 10:00

Hey @BeSunnyPinkBiscuit!
Glad you’re doing good! Yes I can imagine being a toddler mum whilst pregnant is hard! Quite thankful mines older now (although that in itself makes me emotional some days that my first baby is a big baby now and there will be a new baby on the block!!).

good luck with the growth scan and consultant. Let us know. Shame about the potential increase of labouring mums in the area, but I’m sure it will be ok for you (fingers crossed!). I do get the anxiety though.

yes ok at the moment thanks. Had another scan yesterday and all looks ok thankfully. Have consultant in a few weeks to discuss previous birth and how it may impact this one. Feel like I have a lot of trauma bottled up from it, as was trying to be brave during the appt yesterday but ended up crying!!!

another hot one this week. Stay cool ladies ☀️

JMassey · 08/07/2025 10:25

Hi Everyone!

Not doing too bad here, I've got a Scan & Consultant App next week too, I'll be 29 weeks by then 😱I had quite a large bleed at 18 weeks so they're keeping an eye on us, everything has been fine since though and He's a wriggly little thing so thats a daily reassurance ❤I am not looking forward to this heat this week though, i'm over it now! Bring on Autumn🍁🍂😄 xx

emmatcc1 · 08/07/2025 10:53

I also have a scan coming up next week at 26+5. Hopefully they check his estimated weight again, I’m wondering if he’s growing bigger each month or he’s gonna stay a week ahead till the end.
Very active baby I must say and he reaches up to my ribs now, which makes me kinda nervous where the hell am I supposed to fit another 3 months of growing.
His nursery is close to being finished and we’ve got most of the things now, I keep thinking there’s something we’re gonna forget to buy.
I’ve been gaining a kg per week for the past month and a half, thank god I lost some weight from the nausea at first. To be fair I’m not sure where that weight is going because I look the same.
Symptom wise the only thing is the heartburn slowly making an appearance.

BeSunnyPinkBiscuit · 09/07/2025 23:31

I had my scan yesterday at 28 weeks exactly baby measuring on the 50th percentile so estimated weight is 2lb 7oz fluid and placenta flow all good. Baby atm predicted to be 7lb ish at 40 weeks 🤞 only concern is my age and low bmi which I don't have any control over so consultant is wanting to induce at 40 weeks. Midwife appointment was today bloods taken and waiting to hear back about my iron. My next appointment is in 3 weeks time when I have reached the single figure countdown!!! It's going so quickly now I need to get my head into another baby is coming soon along with actually giving birth to it 🥴 but also very excited 🥰

squishousdelicious · 10/07/2025 17:06

Apart from the heat, which is making me feel 100x more ill and tired than I would already (2 weeks left until school finishes, plus toddler seems to be waking at 5.30am every day for no apparent reason)...

Does anyone else feel like their bump tightens if they've been standing too long? Can't remember it happening last time, but that doesn't mean it didn't

pumpkinpatches22 · 10/07/2025 20:32

@squishousdelicious yes I start to feel quite tight and stretchy when I’ve been on my feet a while. I don’t worry and won’t worry unless it doesn’t ease off once I sit down and put my feet up. I’m currently 26 weeks and have a growth scan at 28 weeks to check how baby’s femurs are doing. Hopefully they’ve grown again. 20 week scan they were on 14th percentile overall for weight, then at 23 weeks were on the 31st percentile so fingers crossed for a continued upward trend. Nice to hear others growth scans have been good so far. Definitely feeling lots of kicks and movements which is nice and reassuring and the bump is bumping! Not had my 25 week midwife appointment yet as even though they booked me in for all my appointments way in advance they couldn’t give me an appointment for my 25 week scan until I was over 26 weeks which is frustrating as haven’t really seen my community midwife for 11 weeks now.

squishousdelicious · 10/07/2025 21:38

@pumpkinpatches22 I'm glad to hear it isn't just me getting those feelings, else I would be a little worried. Seems a bit contradictory that you can't get an appointment for 25 weeks until after you're 25 weeks!!

I'm 25 weeks tomorrow and seeing the midwife next week - as it's my second baby, I wouldn't normally have a 25 week appointment, but she said she'd see me because of my previous pregnancy and the circumstances surrounding it and carrying over to this one. I'll be interested to see what the fundal measurement comes out as. I know they're not necessarily the most accurate thing, but I just want to know compared to the measurements from my first pregnancy.

Wouldn't be surprised if it were on the high side though - met someone else pregnant with their second and she's due at the beginning of November and she barely had a bump! I wouldn't have known she was pregnant if she hadn't said 😬 whereas I'm very obviously pregnant and am starting to get "Mr Greedy" comments from colleagues 😂

emmatcc1 · 10/07/2025 21:57

@squishousdelicious I also get the tight belly feeling if I’m up and doing a lot. Doesn’t take much to get to that point actually, clean the kitchen and mop the floors and I’m already feeling uncomfortable.
I have never had my fundal height measured and I wouldn’t even trust it as when I lay down my bump is barely there. This baby seems to be growing up instead of out, he can already reach to kick me in the ribs I don’t wanna imagine how that will be in 2 months time.

OP posts:
squishousdelicious · 10/07/2025 22:08

@emmatcc1 yeah, it doesn't take long to get all tight, just simply standing for a few minutes, which is making work quite difficult at times!

Like I said, I just want to see how the fundal height compares to last time! Though actually, both fundal measurements and growth scans were accurate in predicting that my toddler was a large baby - I know there's a lot of people who it isn't accurate for.

Hi everyone! So glad I found the part 2 of this thread! I wish there was a way to let the other ladies on the original thread find this new one!
I had my repeat 20 week scan today and it all went really well. They managed to get the bits they needed and the scan has all been signed off. My anxiety got really bad over that two weeks but I managed to speak with the mental health midwife who gave me alot of reassurance. Got my femur scan next week which I’m feeling a lot less nervous about thanks to the midwife who basically explained that like people, babies are all different proportions and grow at different rates. 3rd percentile is still within the range of normal it’s just right at the bottom end and so therefore they like to check its growing even if it’s on its own curve. I saw their legs today and they had definitely grown. Just can’t wait to meet them now xx

I just found this thread - really good to hear this hope all is still well :)

Possible trigger warning

So yesterday my waters broke - no way a gush just little trickles every few hours not so I even needed a pad, I thought I was just having a tiny wee. I did phone labour line said it sounds like a urine infection to get to the doctors the next day and to refer me to the pelvic floor specialist. Later on though when I wiped there was pink blood so we went into hospital. They did a swab and it came back that my waters had broke. I'm 29 weeks and 1 day at the time (29 weeks 2 days now, every day counts now) the hospital can't cater for babies under 32 weeks so was blue lighted with a midwife incase I went into labour to the next available hospital that deals with smaller babies. I'm on antibiotics and have had the first steroids injection for lung maturity. I did pass a clot but now the bleeding is subsiding and along with the loss of water but i am just lying down i dont kniw what will happen when im at home. As long as baby keeps drinking and weeing it will replace the lossed fluid which was a trickle luckily not all of it.
I'm having a scan tomorrow to check the amount of fluid and i may be sent home. The consultants initially said induction at 37 weeks but are now saying 34 ...I don't know I'm just taking one day at a time.
Just be vigilant ladies as this is my 5th baby and all the others have been past my due date and my waters didn't break until I was pushing. Just goes to show you no two births are the same ! Hope this doesn't make people scared just aware

emmatcc1 · 17/07/2025 20:25

@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit
So sorry to hear that! I can’t imagine how scary that is for you. Do they know where the bleeding came from?
I’ve been in the depths of reading about premature rupture of membranes weeks ago when I had increased watery discharge and the outcomes were pretty good actually. Many made it weeks and delivered close to term with no complications.
A 29 weeker does have a very high chance of survival though in case it does come to that.
I’m hoping you make it as far as possible!!

No they didn't know. The bleeding to start with was pink which can be common when waters break apparently. After being examined 3 times by a spatular and swabs and internal examination 😮‍💨 that's when the blood chaned to dark red and later I did have a small 50p size clot and on the loo there were drips. This has stopped and back to a small amount of pink blood. So probably with all the interferance that's what caused the bright blood. Yes just worried about the outcome for the baby later and how difficult it would be to manage life with 4 other children a dog and working partner BUT it's not going to come to that I'm sure I haven't had any contractions and tummy is nice and soft. Baby seems quite happy and unaware of all of this drama they have caused ! Which is a good thing. Every hour the consultant said is a bonus. Almost past the critical 48 hours as well (11am) I just really wish I knew what the gender was now after all of this

BeSunnyPinkBiscuit · 17/07/2025 23:27

Also if tue baby is induced early then it will be an August baby and that's extra difficult for them on terms of a school year. I was looking foward to a September/October baby so we could spend more time toghter and just be a year older before they have to conform to education. If I got to 36 weeks then it would be early September. The consultant will probably think that isn't a valid medical reason though

CustardCream31 · 18/07/2025 08:07

@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit oh my gosh, I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. How bloomin stressful 😣 keeping everything crossed for you that it calms down and baby stays put safely until at least September! Lots of rest for you… keep us posted - we are here as a sounding board!

JMassey · 18/07/2025 08:26

@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit So sorry you're going through this! I had a huge bleed at 18 weeks and was sure it was the worse news, it was a horrible day. So i can sympathise with you on some level! I totally understand what you mean about Baby's Gender too, i wasn't going to find out but i had too after that had happened. But such a good sign that baby is totally unaware, still comfy and cosy and safe and you still have your little surprise to look forward too ❤

BeSunnyPinkBiscuit · 18/07/2025 11:51

Just be shown round nicu 🥲 very surreal.
Had a scan and baby has loads of fluid around and cervix is closed so that's good. Still slightly leaking but bleeding is really subsiding but still there.

pumpkinpatches22 · 19/07/2025 17:51

@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit gosh how scary! Fingers crossed everything stays closed and you can last a few more weeks. Sounds like you’re in good hands but I can only imagine the anxiety especially with children at home. Keep us posted! Xxx

JMassey · 25/07/2025 07:38

Good Morning Everyone, how are we all? I've hit 30 weeks and all the uncomfortableness that comes with! He feels so low i'm so sore already! I don't remember being uncomfortable with my first until the last 2 weeks. My son has broke up from Nursery now so i'm preparing myself for the next 5 weeks. When are people thinking of starting Maternity? I'm thinking 36 weeks is enough for me x

fluffyprawn · 25/07/2025 14:27

@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit that all sounds very overwhelming - how are you doing?? Fingers crossed for 36 weeks.

@JMassey Hello! Sorry to hear you’re sore already! I’ve registered to start mat at 36+6 but could move it to earlier if I wanted. Will see how I’m feeling.

I’m 27 weeks now and had an awful few days of passing out and vomiting last week - apparently it was low blood pressure. I’ve perked up now but still have difficulty breathing sometimes and just feel really heavy and immobile to be honest, which wasn’t what I expected this early. Many friends and acquaintances have told me that they had the “glow” and felt like superwoman from 21 weeks until third trimester - I just haven’t felt that AT ALL! I’ve felt pretty awful throughout 😂… I can also feel lots of kicking, which sometimes wakes me up at night! At least he’s strong!

Sending strength to everyone
