@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit I can’t imagine how stressful it is to know you’re gonna have an early baby. But from what I’ve seen they do really well and don’t need much support with breathing and eating.
Don’t know much about that baby but judging from the mom’s posts he’s doing pretty good. He was born due to iugr weighing at 650g and 33cm long.

I think I'm more eager to know the weight now then the sex. The weight seems to make such a difference to how the baby copes and for when they are allowed out of hospital. I'm going to miss my other children so much. Off to bed now I think I'm going to have a long day ahead of me

pumpkinpatches22 · 19/08/2025 07:14

Thinking of you today @BeSunnyPinkBiscuit ❤️ fingers crossed it all goes as smoothly as it can. You’re in the best hands and you’ve done so well to get this far. This is now the safest option for you and your baby. I can’t imagine how anxious you must be, we’re all here to support you! X

JMassey · 19/08/2025 09:27

CustardCream31 · 26/08/2025 09:25

How are we all doing? 🙂

Hope all good with you and baby girl @BeSunnyPinkBiscuit

JMassey · 29/08/2025 08:18

Hi @CustardCream31 , I'm 35+1 and developed Late Stage Gestational Diabetes so thats fun. Just seems to be my Fasting Levels so just on Metaformin for now. At Least its only for the last few weeks!

I've got all Baby Boy's Washing done now! Feeling a little more ready than last week when I hadn't organised anything. Hospital Bags have been started too. We had our first Son in 2021 with some Covid rules still in place so it's going to be very different having Husband with me the whole time after Birth!

Looks like i'll be Induced at 39 weeks now too so I think i'll end up with a Sept Baby 😂

How are you xx

Hope all good with you and baby girl @BeSunnyPinkBiscuit

Baby is doing well. Just the feeding tube now. She is putting on weight and is managing to maintain her body temperature so is in a cot. We are both in scbu toghter. We are on day 9 now looks like I may be here for at least another week which is fine but missing being at home.

pumpkinpatches22 · 06/09/2025 07:18

Have you been able to go home now @BeSunnyPinkBiscuit ? I hope you and your daughter are doing ok?

Im 34+2 now and since 31 weeks I keep going in and out of triage with high blood pressure. It seems to be really high at home (was asked to monitor it) or when I’m at my antenatal appointments and then I go to triage, and eventually over the course of the hour it comes down. However now I’m getting traces of protein in urine, and have noticed I’m getting mild headaches more frequently and short lived occurrences of visual disturbances. I was in triage on Monday where they took my blood, and was back in on Friday again. My BP did come down and said my blood shows I don’t have pre eclampsia but given I’m starting to get other symptoms then I could be at risk of developing it. I’m quite worried about it because I know you can go from not having it, to having it quite quickly and don’t want to wait until I’ve got really bad symptoms like swelling or severe headaches etc before it’s caught. I’m with the consultant on Monday for my growth scan and they’ve asked him to check my BP again and then they will from there. I’m going ti ask to recheck my bloods too. It’s just the progression from only having high BP to having high BP and other symptoms that’s making me nervous that I’m heading in the wrong direction. I feel like the fact it does come down is throwing the docs off from being more thorough. Hopefully my consultant will err on the side of caution and give me closer monitoring.

EEB1989 · 08/09/2025 15:10

I haven’t posted in a while, how are you all? Congratulations @BeSunnyPinkBiscuit on the arrival of your baby girl.

I am currently 35+5 and I’ve requested to move hospitals. So I’ve got to have another booking apt tomorrow… then hopefully arrange the birth etc.
I just feel my current hospital isn’t upto it. They’ve been deemed incompetent and I’ve heard nothing but horror stories.

Has anyone had any experience of changing hospitals?
I feel so let down by the NHS in my area, from the midwives to the hospital - it’s all been very frustrating and it’s the only thing that’s put a downer on my pregnancy experience.

Ive partly packed my bag… hoping baby boy remains cooking at least until I’ve sorted the hospital out.

Band3benefits · 10/09/2025 20:43

@pumpkinpatches22 how are you getting on with your BP now? Hope things are improving

I was in and out of triage with my BP until last week they put me on labetalol finally and I’ve also had to increase the dose since,

went for a further check up and my urine PCR measured 109 (cut off for pre eclampsia is 30 apparently!)

baby girl staying put for now (I’ve a scan tomorrow to determine next steps) but I’d really encourage you to push for them to take your bp readings seriously- they’d tried making me waiting an hour until my bp met criteria over a few weeks before but it slowly crept up anyway so didn’t work for them fobbing me off anymore

pumpkinpatches22 · 10/09/2025 21:32

@Band3benefits thanks for checking in! I was back in triage on Saturday having thrown up everywhere on Saturday morning which made me super worried. My blood pressure was ok and they think it was more to do with reflux issues so I’m on omeprazole now which has definitely helped. Then back in triage on Monday after my scan as they did my BP in antenatal and it was like 160/100 or something like that. They did it again and it came down to 148/90 (ish) but sent me to triage for another profile and said if it stay at 140/90 in triage they’ll prescribe meds. In triage it came right down to 124/84 and I think that’s why they won’t put me on blood pressure meds yet because when it comes down, it really comes down. They’ve done a urine culture to check for an infection -not heard anything back. I had a PCR done on Friday and that had come back at 26 I think so closer to the threshold but not there yet. They’ve repeated pre-e bloods on Monday and not heard anything either so hopefully they’re ok. I’m getting regular scans anyway and have a home blood pressure monitor and been told to come back if I have any concerns. It’s worrying but I do feel like they’re being as thorough as they can be. If it happens again I’ll be pushing to see if they can give me meds. How far along are you now?

That makes sense and aside from the throwing up, you’re in exactly the same position I was in a couple weeks ago! Monitoring it at home myself and having the regular growth scans already (due to low PAPP-A) and triage did bloods each time but no news was good news. I hope it stays that way for you! Glad all is fine with your scans.

im 35+5 so hoping she stays in longer but something tells me I wont get to 40 weeks.

im still working but might finish at 37 weeks rather than the 39 id planned

my little boy was similar. I didnt develop pre eclampsia just the bp and needed meds but they induced at 37+4. I’ve finally sorted a hospital bag today (begrudgingly!!)

will see how tomorrow goes

pumpkinpatches22 · 11/09/2025 07:05

@Band3benefits wishing you all the best and fingers crossed you can make it as far as is healthy and safe for both you and baby. At what point did you tip over into pre-eclampsia? I assume they called you once your bloods/PCR surpassed that threshold? I’m 35 weeks now and hoping that I can keep control of my blood pressure even for the next two weeks to get to 37 weeks. I’m finishing work on Friday to try and reduce some of my stress levels so hoping that will have some effect. I think the earlier you can finish the better! I’m a director/employee of my own LTD company so understand the financial
pressures of maternity leave. Finishing my current contract 3 weeks early was not part of my financial plan but it’s the only big stress I can see that could be making my BP worse.
I think I would feel better if they gave me me meds just so I felt like there was something to help lower it but I understand they don’t want to risk me fainting if my BP is fluctuating.

Nearly there now! We can hold each others hands to the finish line xx

CustardCream31 · 11/09/2025 08:33

Morning ladies! Getting closer to the finish line now, aren’t we!

@pumpkinpatches22 yes hope your blood pressure can be controlled. That’s good you’re finishing work tomorrow, that will help!

@Band3benefits take care and go steady. I’d deffo stop work sooner if you can to try and help. Good you are being monitored closely though.

@EEB1989 sorry your experience of hospital hasn’t been a good one. Well done on making the decision you think best re. Moving hospitals. Hopefully they will go above and beyond knowing that’s why you changed. Stressful though!

@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit hope you are both home now (or at least have a plan for imminent release!!).

I’ve been signed off work now and diagnosed with intrahepatic cholestatis….. I’m only 33 weeks 😔😔 there was a worry she needed to come this week due to how bad my LFT bloods and bile acids got. So stressful. Coasting and having twice weekly bloods and monitoring. Hoping to make it to 36 weeks but am not feeling hopeful to be honest. Just want her safe, but cooked a bit longer. It’s making me fearful because of my last induction - it was awful.

so exhausted and on and off nauseous.

pumpkinpatches22 · 11/09/2025 11:24

@CustardCream31 so sorry to hear you’ve had such a stressful time of it. Will keep everything crossed that she can cook a bit longer. They’re keeping a close eye on you and that’s good, just take it one day at a time. Every day counts. here for a hand hold if you need it!

Been back to triage this morning as my at home reading was 168/102. Midwife I spoke to was wonderful and said it’s time for something to change. Brought me in and got the doctor to prescribe me low dose Nifedopine so really hoping that will do the trick and get my BP to stabilise and get me to the finish line. 🤞🏻

CustardCream31 · 11/09/2025 11:35

Morning @pumpkinpatches22 thank you 💕 yes glad to be having close monitoring but it’s stressing me a bit each time haha.

glad the midwife you saw this morning was good, and they are making changes to try and help. That’s very positive! How are you feeling?

pumpkinpatches22 · 11/09/2025 19:53

@CustardCream31 I can imagine the monitoring definitely adds to the anxiety even though it’s necessary. It just takes away from that normal pregnancy experience. Deep breaths and hopefully you’ll have your baby in your arms soon (but not too soon).

I am feeling relieved there seems to be a plan. I just wondered if anyone knew what happens when you need repeats of prescriptions issued in triage? I’m on a few meds now that have been given in triage - It says on the slip to show it to your doctor before the prescription runs out but obviously each one has been prescribed by a different triage doctor. Do I show them to my GP to get repeats?

Band3benefits · 11/09/2025 23:53

How are you all getting on with your BPs?

not great news here. Went for my scan and BP series this afternoon and was in for over 6 hours.

baby has dropped by 30 cwntiles in 2 weeks- now measuring on 12th.

my bp is all over the place, even after 600mg labetalol today plus nifedipine it’s borderline high.

they allowed me home eventually on the basis I went back in by 8am tomorrow.

have now done my handover and decided at 10pm that I was booking holiday for the next week and finishing work.

Induction scheduled for next Friday at 37 weeks. Argh!!

I feel so sad and like my body has let me down, again :(

pumpkinpatches22 · 12/09/2025 06:35

@Band3benefits so sorry to hear things didn’t go your way. You’ve definitely made the right call giving up work and booking a holiday. I know it’s worrying having to delivery earlier than planned but 37 weeks is still considered full term! My nephew came spontaneously at 37 weeks and was absolutely fine. I’ve also had a few moments this week feeling quite low that these last few weeks of pregnancy have been more stressful than I would have liked, I really wanted to just enjoy the run up to my due date but it’s been an anxiety inducing time. It’s important to remember your body is doing the best it can and all bodies cope differently with pregnancy. It’s not let you down, it’s kept your baby going for almost a full 9 months now. Due dates don’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things and you’re making the best decisions by putting the overall health of you and your little girl first.

how have you found the BP meds? I’ve been awake on/off since 00:30 with a racing heart and feeling a bit weird. Not sure if it’s the meds or anxiety from everything, worrying if it will work or not. Just want to be able to close my eyes and sleep but bedtimes have become an anxiety trigger anyway because I’m alone with my thoughts

How are you getting on?! I found the same with the medication too, sleep is terrible.

things took a further turn and I’m an inpatient now. Have no symptoms of PET but by blood pressure was all over the place again last night and they’ve admitted me. Hoping now they’ve increased my dose again (900mg labetalol a day and 20mg nifedipine!) that it’ll stay settled for a week until they induce me.

funnily enough I was induced 4 years ago today, (at 37 weeks), it’s my son’s birthday tomorrow. Gutted I’m in here but hopefully they’ll let me out soon.

fingers crossed your meds are working for you now and things have settled

pumpkinpatches22 · 14/09/2025 06:34

@Band3benefits oh no, I’m so so sorry! I can’t imagine how upsetting/stressful this is for you but good that they’ve been monitoring you and are keeping a close eye. As awful as being an inpatient in hospital is, you’re in the right place to get the care you need. Will keep everything crossed that things will stabilise for you and you make it to your induction date and for a smooth and safe delivery.

I’ve been on Nifedipine 10mg extended release since Thursday and so far it seems to be helping. Took some time to kick in but since Friday evening my BP has stayed below 140/90. My bloods/PCRs seem to be staying below the threshold for PE, haven’t heard anything from my latest PCR on Thursday but will check on Monday. I’m still battling the anxiety and sleeplessness but feeling more positive for sure. Hoping it continues to work!

@CustardCream31 how are you getting on? Any news?
