Did anyone else have a strong intuition on gender before knowing?

I am only 10 weeks pregnant but since the day I found out I have had this overwhelming gut instinct I’m having a boy. To the point I actually have to remind myself sometimes there is every chance I am not lol.
Has anyone else experienced this before, were you right or in for a surprise?
Just to add I am completely non biased and have no preference - lucky enough to already have one of each! But the funny thing is I had this exact feeling with my first, who was a boy (even remember driving to the gender scan with my husband saying we’re just going for them to confirm it’s a boy not to tell us what we’re having). With my second I had no real gut feeling at all, we ended up with our beautiful girl!

Obviously I know there’s no real 100% way of knowing and no science to this. I’m just asking for a bit of fun I find it so intriguing 😊 Do you think there’s something to a mothers instinct?

Yes, I did. Right up to birth. I was wrong!!

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 12/04/2025 21:11

Yes, both times, Right both times too!

Blue2020 · 12/04/2025 21:12

I would have said so. I was convinced my first was a boy, and at the 20 week scan it was a boy. This time I was convinced it was a boy again, and at 24 weeks found out it’s a girl. So I guess I got it right 50%. Well the baby isn’t born yet so there’s still a chance it could be a boy. The sonographer seamed confident it was a girl though and checked twice.

Oh wow! It’s just so funny how our minds can make us think so strongly isn’t it

This.

Ph3 · 12/04/2025 21:13

Me too. With my 3 kids I was so sure!

PregnantAndKnackered1 · 12/04/2025 21:13

I found out at 6 weeks but was pretty sure he was a boy

intothefifth · 12/04/2025 21:13

I knew both times, second time convinced myself it was wishful thinking as I did want the opposite sex to my first but no - I was right!

Amyjade2022 · 12/04/2025 21:13

Amazing!

This.

And me. All three times 😁

Bigearringsbigsmile · 12/04/2025 21:14

Yes I knew 100% that I was having boys.
I didn't find out until the birth but I just felt it in my bones!

thistimelastweek · 12/04/2025 21:15

Yes. I absolutely knew he was a boy and I was right.
Second time I absolutely knew he was a boy. I was wrong.

Doolallies · 12/04/2025 21:15

Convinced it was a girl first time. It was a boy.

had no feelings either way second time. It was a girl

knew the symptoms for a girl third time and I just knew knew knew it was a girl. I wasn’t even surprised in the scan like my husband was

victorianpattern · 12/04/2025 21:17

Yes, I did and I was right!

MockTheGeek · 12/04/2025 21:20

I knew all six times. All six I was right.

Each time I told family or friends I would tell them I’m pregnant with a girl/boy from the beginning and it was always later proved right. Didn’t need the scans, it was slightly annoying as there was no mystery, I would have liked some but it was just utterly obvious to me each time.

could have been chance of course.

Oh wow that’s amazing! What gave it away did you have certain symptoms with either gender? Or really was just gut instinct?

With my first I just assumed I was having a girl for some reason (did). My next two I did feel different so thought they were probably boys (they were) Grin

Hollieandtheivie · 12/04/2025 21:32

Not consciously, but weirdly I had dreams when I was pregnant that correctly predicted the sex both times. And I'm not a very woo person.

HarryVanderspeigle · 12/04/2025 21:33

I was so convinced that ds1 was a girl until the scan. Didn't even start thinking about boys names as I was sure I wasn't having one. I guess those who got it right had a 50% chance whatever they thought.

CaptainJason · 12/04/2025 21:34

I was ADAMANT I was having a boy both times… I’ve got two DDs 😂

Tuttifrutticutiepie · 12/04/2025 21:36

I did with my first two pregnancies and I was wrong both times haha. By number 3 I must have learned my lesson and felt no intuition 😂

BlondeMummyto1 · 12/04/2025 21:36

I was convinced I was having a boy and was ready for it to be confirmed when they said girl. I was over the moon either way.

TaranFollt · 12/04/2025 21:36

I was convinced I was having a boy. Picked his name in advance. Half hearted picked a girls name, but didn't feel the necessity of it.
Always looked at boys clothes in baby shops and felt no connection to the girls items.
I had a boy.

everythingeverything1981 · 12/04/2025 21:38

I felt like death warmed up with my girl, wouldn't have even known I was pregnant with the following two. That's how I knew.

Christwosheds · 12/04/2025 21:38

Yes. I was right with both of them. I had absolutely no doubt the first time, the second time I kept second guessing my gut feeling, then had a scan at six weeks due to bleeding . As soon as I saw the tiny grain of rice on the screen I was suddenly sure. Weirder was the fact that my 20 month old toddler told me there was a baby in my tummy and it was a little girl (correct).
