Due November after loss

Hi there,
I've started this thread so that mamas who have similar due dates following a previous loss or losses have somewhere to chat and feel supported.

I've been on a November due date thread but I feel there's a huge difference in the mindset of people who have experienced loss and those who haven't - which makes total sense!

We have different worries and milestones to make it past etc, so please join if you need somewhere to chat, rant, vent, or share your worries.

Pregnancy is an anxious time as it is without having previous trauma to contend with. Is it just me, or has all the joy been sucked out of the experience?

Good luck today @CloudsInMyCoffee09! Hope all is well at your scan, let us know if you feel upto it!!

Glad to hear everyone else is getting on ok. Sounds like the bleeding isn’t considered to be too worry some @LER2023 but I’d have been climbing the walls with all that waiting around 😂

Very nervous over here today, 12w scan is literally tomorrow so feel so anxious and sick!! 😩 it’s quite late in the day tomorrow too so already trying to figure out how to have the day pass relatively quickly. I am meant to be working from home but may take some leave as I won’t be able to concentrate and don’t find it’s a distraction when I’m at home, only when physically in the office. Any recommendations appreciated 😂 going to try a little pamper and relax night tonight.. husband has been and bought me a facemask, hair mask and some snacks and even promised to watch a cheesy film of my choice with me!

Good luck @CloudsInMyCoffee09!

I have a consultant appointment today (18 weeks) and he usually does a quick scan at the same time. I’m feeling really nervous about it - I think I’ve been feeling movements (although anterior placenta, so hard to tell), but not for the last couple of days, so my head is now convincing me that something has gone wrong…

Thanks. Do you think it's ok to say I need to work from home till it's sorted? I'm fine telling them I'm pregnant, it's this horrible rat issue that I'm worried about x

@CloudsInMyCoffee09 sorry only just saw this as haven’t been on for a few days but I have a health and safety qualification and your employer has a legal duty to ensure the health, safety and welfare of their employees. I’d argue that a dead rat rotting in the roof is not doing this! Also they have a separate duty to you as a pregnant person. It doesn’t matter the size of the organisation, it’s the law. It’s in section 2 of the health and safety at work act if you want any legal bits to back you up. They need to make reasonable adjustments for you!

Just been catching up on everyone’s messages, hope everyone is doing ok. I’m 17 weeks today, anxiety is creeping up. Not sure if I’ve felt movements or if it’s just wind etc. I’ve got the midwife tomorrow so hoping she listens to the heartbeat and my mind can stop racing a bit. I feel like I can’t get excited because I can’t see how this can end positively 😭

Xwx1010 · 03/06/2025 18:59

@Jade3110 im 17 weeks today too and also have midwife tomorrow 😂

Jade3110 · 03/06/2025 19:11

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 03/06/2025 19:58

Thanks everyone for the lovely messages, what a gorgeous group we've got here! 🥰

Haven't caught up on everything properly yet but I will when I get a moment. Just wanted to pop on and say the scan was fine and we heard baby's heartbeat for the first time too 💕 16 weeks tomorrow and midwife on Friday for me.

Hope everyone is OK, it really means a lot that you're all here to chat to xxx

So glad that your scan went well! ❤️ that must be such a relief after what sounds like a stressful week!

Jade3110 · 04/06/2025 14:12

@Xwx1010 how did your midwife appointment go? They wouldn’t listen to the heartbeat in mine as said it was too early and if they couldn’t find it then they can’t send me anywhere to get it checked as under 20 weeks so in their opinion it would cause more stress than good. I have to say I was disappointed, I feel so well and not sure I can feel any movement yet so was hoping for a bit of reassurance.

Xwx1010 · 04/06/2025 16:22

@Jade3110 rubbish lasted about 5 minutes, took my blood pressure and co test and gave me a further appt date. Waste of getting dressed tbh!

thankfully consultant used Doppler on Monday so I’m a little reassured and still trying to hang on another 3 weeks until the 20w scan without booking anything private in the interim! How you feeling - can you hang on until you’re 20 or will you book something? X

Jade3110 · 04/06/2025 16:42

@Xwx1010 ah rubbish! I was at least in there for a good 20 mins or so and she was lovely but just disappointed about the heartbeat!
I think I can hold off, I’ve got a consultant appointment next Friday too so maybe they will be able to do something! My scan is less than 3 weeks away and we have a busy few weeks coming up so hopefully will distract me!

Xwx1010 · 04/06/2025 18:02

@Jade3110 what did they cover with you out of interest? Mine is on leave so just someone else standing in for her today!
def ask the consultant! Hopefully that will keep you going until the scan. I googled the Doppler they used and it was near £1000!!! 😂

Jade3110 · 04/06/2025 18:10

@Xwx1010 she did the usual BP and urine dip (no CO2 as the machine was broken) and spoke about signs and symptoms of pre eclampsia and the liver thing (can’t remember what it’s called) and asked about my mental health. She spoke about movements and if I’d had any bleeding etc. and also offered antenatal and breastfeeding classes nearer the due date! Oh and whooping cough and RSV vaccine info.

I will ask them, I feel a bit better after seeing the midwife but there’s still that little what if voice in my head.

HLouise94 · 06/06/2025 10:31

Morning everyone! How are you all doing? Hope I’ve just had my 16 week midwife appointment and thankfully they had a listen to baby’s heartbeat with a Doppler which was nice. It really put my mind at ease after a few days of worrying about feeling movements yet xx

So pleased to hear that you’ve stopped bleeding. That must be such a relief for you to not have that added stress. I’m also 17 weeks tomorrow. It’s nice to tick off each week a mini milestone isn’t it! 🥰 Are you going to find out whether you’re having a boy or a girl?xx

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 09/06/2025 07:59

Conragts @LER2023 so glad to hear the bleeding is stopping 💕

Sorry I've been quiet on here. It's been a hectic time! We're off on a little family caravan holiday today which I can't wait for but the job stuff is still uncertain and last night I had the most upsetting vivid dream that's made me worry if baby is OK 😞 I thought I felt flutters this week but not sure if I did and theyre not at all frequent. I know that's normal at 16+5 but I'm just getting nervous all over again like the dream was a warning or something. Sounds daft I know.

Any scans or milestones going on this week for anyone? Xx
