Hey! I’m also 31w and on maternity leave, but it’s far from boring if you already have a toddler ! Haha
im loving this 1to1 time we get, enjoying the summer, doing all the last baby prep - packing hospital bags, washing everything, packing nappy caddies, etc. ☺️
I have max 8 week till the C section, which helps me with any challenging symptoms, such as carpal tunnel, back pain, bloating, etc.

sunshineandrain82 · 11/07/2025 18:14

I’m nearly 32 weeks but my C-section is scheduled for 6 weeks time.

im slowing down now, started to pack our bags, getting the nursery ready.
yesterday my 8 year old son decided it was time to build his brothers swing.

I was planning to do one trip a week up to a week before my C-section but I’m starting to think that might not be a good idea. We home educate though so we usually go into hibernation during holidays. So maybe I’ll just stick to our usual routine instead of making the most of spending time with them without a newborn.

we did get my sons surgery date through for 3 weeks time. That’s a drive into London. If we hadnt waited 4 years I’d be tempted to reschedule it.

everyone is starting to get excited in our house. My boy especially. Everyone he sees he tells “I’ve waited 5 years for a brother” he now doesn’t let me carry shopping bags, washing. Anything he feels heavy 😰

I've been off work since 7.5 weeks! If you had asked me before how I would have coped not in work for so long I would have worried about my mental health and wellbeing but I've settled into the slower pace of life quite easily.
I have a daughter in school so that gives me routine and order to my day. Trying to keep on top of chores and self care takes up the rest.

I'm 28 weeks and have two weeks at my in laws booked for the end of August, I've just got this dread that baby will make an arrival whilst we are there so I need to make sure everything is organised and sorted before we head down!

@sunshineandrain82 that's poor timing but glass half full it would have been worse if it was the same week as your c section! I hope all goes ok.

I still haven't been able to bring myself to buy anything but this week quite a few people have offered me their baby stuff so I might be ok to put it off a bit longer. I have promised my daughter a trip to the shop so she can pick him an outfit and you though

ThatSnugSwan · 11/07/2025 20:55

30 weeks here, csection booked for 9 weeks. Have a 9 year old and 6 year old. Stress is getting to me now as we are moving house to our brand new build in 5 weeks and I'm trying to pack up this house as much as I can. We are living here almost 10 years so alot of stuff. Between trying to get the new house finished and packing its so hard. I also have a pulled muscle near my rib from a really bad cough a few weeks ago so I'm miserable with that.

MyGardenDaisies · 11/07/2025 22:35

So many of us with planned C sections!

PurpleTurtleMoose · 11/07/2025 22:49

I'm struggling with the commute too 😫 Approaching 33 weeks and just feel uncomfortable, especially in the heat. Can't wait to go on mat leave!

sunshineandrain82 · 11/07/2025 23:01

@Superscientist it was meant to be the day before 😐 but having him in London and me in kent just wouldn’t work.
@ThatSnugSwani feel for you. We moved while I was pregnant with dd5. We already had 3 children by that point. But decided to relocate. It’s not something I’d ever want to do again. Thankfully our final move was last year. Though we are rather adept at packing an entire house up the day before we relocate.

We’ve had our baby!

Been off work since 25+4 with early onset pre-eclampsia. We got a little lady born at 28+6 due to an abnormal CTG last night. I managed to stay stable.
She’s extremely tiny, on the 0.3rd centile and isn’t doing too well at the moment.

if anyone has spare positive vibes, please send them our feisty little girls way!

Wishing you all the best through the coming weeks and months. You did really well to get to almost 29 weeks.
My dad was born at 28 weeks in the 60s and come through remarkably well considering what they had available at the time! There's a little girl in my daughters class who was born at 29 weeks too. She has a up and down time during her time in the NICU but by the time she reached her due date and was able to come home she has thrived.

The coming months are likely to be tough but nicu babies and mum are super humans, just remember you need to look after yourself and your wellbeing too. X

Well done to getting over 28 weeks - this will help her so much :)

My daughter was born on the bottom centile - I guess someone has to be - she’s still very petite but absolutely fine!

Melusina123 · 13/07/2025 10:52

@MrsH26 Congratulations and sending you and little one every positive vibe in me. She's in the right place. ❤️

How’s everyone doing?

i had a growth scan and baby is LGA, so having a repeat GD test to make sure I haven’t recently developed GD, and a consultation.

I wonder if they wound bring the planned C section any earlier than 39w, or is that uncommon? Any experience with large 99th centile babies?

chicke09 · 19/07/2025 08:32

I’m 32 weeks now and due another growth scan this week but do feel like my bump has gone so much bigger even in the last week so we shall see 🙈 I’m just so glad it has cooled down a bit now.

Feeling pretty fed up tbh. Have the worse insomnia I've ever know, restless leg shredding my legs apart every night. I was prescribed anti histamines to try and act as a sleeping pill but barely took the edge of.

Glad it's cooler and hope it stays that way!

sunshineandrain82 · 19/07/2025 12:48

32+6 now.
had a growth scan this week which has put baby on 90th percentile. Queue the panic from my care team as I have gestational diabetes. there’s now a possibility of bringing my C-section forward from 38 weeks to 36/37 weeks.

I’ve previously had a big baby due to gestational diabetes. Where typically my babies were all small babies. So I’m quite aware how quickly they can gain.

the heartburn is awful. If he doesn’t have a full head of hair I won’t be impressed. No medication seems to be helping and it’s just making me sick.

MyGardenDaisies · 19/07/2025 21:20

@sunshineandrain82 my baby is on 99th centile! I had perfect GD results but they are having my redo it next week in case it’s developed recently. But my first baby was 97th centile and both me and my husband were 4kg babies, so I’m hoping it’s just genetics.

sunshineandrain82 · 19/07/2025 21:24

@MyGardenDaisies I have a family history of GD. My mother had it in all 4 of her pregnancies.
my first 2 children were both 2kg babies. But my last child she was 4kg and I had GD with her.

Yes, I popped mine in and asked for it to tell me the gender by the ramzi theory (I can’t see a nub on my photos) I uploaded all my photos and it checked the ramzi theory and then it suggested the nub and skull theories, it was consistent with the answer being one gender.

I’ll have to wait and see at our 20week scan if it’s true.

Did the gpt guess correctly?

Yes, it said boy and he is a boy. I tried Grok AI too but that said 50/50 - I had six scan photos and three it said girl and three it said boy.

We didn’t mind either way, it’s fun to guess. Are you finding out the gender? We were too impatient to wait until the birth.

No not finding out I just love looking at all the theories and tales. Chat gpt circled the back as the nub though so not relying on it 😂

How interesting ! I did a GD test around 26 weeks I think and the results before and after were perfect according to my consultant, but the sonographer now at 32w said it can develop any moment

hotpotlover · 21/07/2025 11:36

Chat GTP and the Internet nub theorists were right in my case - it will be a girl xxx
