We had the gender disappointment. But we always was going to have 1 child upset. After 3 girls and 1 boy we are expecting our second boy. Our youngest girl actually cried she wasn’t having a sister at same point our son was dancing around the room celebrating.
she must of spent 2-3 days crying on and off but she’s ok with it now.. granted I did remind her she has no one to steal her clothes now 🤣

Consultant today was successful, ive now been booked in for a C-section so in 18 weeks I’ll have a baby as im not allowed to go past 38 weeks. I have my date which makes it seem so much more real. And 3 days before my kids all go back to school in September which I think is much easier.

I Will get my date at 36 weeks for 39ish weeks. 😊

Had the abnormality scan today and baby measuring 20+4, feeling so excited now all is checked!

Yes she did say usually it’s not booked in yet or a date given. But she booked it in there and there and wants to personally deliver. Im getting my tubes tied at same time.

We were going to wait until our 20week scan to announce but have decided that if anything were to happen, we would like the support of family. However, my Nan died on Monday - my mum’s mum. Would you still announce or should I postpone?

Please let me know your thoughts… don’t hold back, I wouldn’t ask if I didn’t want to know lol.

Ah that's a tough one. On the one hand, it would bring some positivity at such a sad time, but on the other hand, will people be able to process it properly if they're grieving?

If your mum and her mum were close, I might be inclined to wait just a bit longer, to let her focus on mourning the loss.

Thank you. I’m going to wait a few weeks… we missed the combined screening tests so I’ll wait until we have the quad results back at our 16wk appointment.

Then once the funeral etc is over I’ll announce. They weren’t really close but close enough that it’s been a rough week for my mum. I guess even if you’re not close you always can’t imagine a world without them in it.

@EEB1989 I have such a huge bump it would be impossible to hide. Can you still get away with not saying?

I do have a bump, but my parents go away in 10days and then I’m going away for 10days so I can avoid seeing them - it’s my husbands family that might spot it as they live closer and I’ve more chance of bumping into them.

By the time we announce it will be totally obvious. They’ll probably guess before they open the cards that we’ve bought for the announcements.

I have a huge bump as well although I'm only 17 + 5.

I think it's what happens when you've had children in quick succession.

I don’t think it’s just quick succession I’ve got 3 years, 3 years and now 5 years between youngest and this one.
im massive compared to my previous 3 pregnancies. With my first 2 I didn’t show till way past 30 weeks. Youngest was around 25 weeks. But this time I’ve been showing for ages now.

I only have a 4.5yo and also have a bigger bump than last time. It's higher I think that makes a difference for how it looks. I'm still in my normal jeans but feels like all my organs are now under my ribs and have started with heartburn. I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and last time I wasn't obviously pregnant but definitely look pregnant this time around!

We are waiting until the 20 week scan to find out the gender.

I’ve had all the old wives tales for a boy but my husband thinks it’s to throw me off the scent of a girl. It’s our first so we’ve no preference.

For those that know, were the old wives tales true for you? I just like guessing…

When I was pregnant with my daughter I craved sweet things and when pregnant with my boys it was savoury.

This time round I’m back to sweet - so maybe a girl? I’ll find out later this week!

I had really sweet cravings when I was pregnant with my daughter but no sickness or anything like that.

All my previous pregnancies I’ve craved cake. To specific birthday cake icing. 2 girls and a boy.
my cake craving is back and it’s another boy.
though sugar jam donuts creep in there as well

It might be a coincidence but I found out today that I am having a girl so sweet cravings seem to mean girl for me!!

21 + 1 here, been feeling movement since about 18, this being my first.

She's so active though and every scan and doppler we've had she's been having a party in there, constantly moving about and away from the probes. She better not be sporty.

Found out this week we are having a girl - craved sour things with DS (when I could eat anything at all, that is!), but haven’t craved anything this pregnancy. Totally different pregnancy altogether really!

Had our anatomy scan yesterday.
All is well, we managed to keep the sex secret, but babe was mightily non-compliant.
Sucking its fingers and scratching its head when they were trying to see its face. Flipping around when they were trying to get spine images! I was doing star jumps, squats and lunges trying to get it to flip back over 🙄 😂

It’s going to be a mischief this kid, I can already tell!

hello! Next Friday will be 24 weeks - viability! 🙌
baby is so active now others can feel too and it’s visible looking at the belly.

I feel like this last month in 2nd trimester will fly by and then we are in the finish line! 🤗

We had our 20 week scan yesterday. All is well with the baby 👶 and it will be a girl 👧 ❤️
