Morning Ladies,

Due Oct but posting in here as you ladies are further along… We had our 12week scan this week measuring 14+1 so a few days ahead of what I thought (13+5).

I’m too far to have the test for downs, Edward’s etc and baby was being awkward for the neck measurement but they said nothing to be worried about - we should celebrate but they just couldn’t get the measurement today and they’ll do a blood test at my 16week apt for downs.

Im not sure if we will announce before we have the all clear - we are slightly older (35/36). Has anyone been in this situation?

We're older than you - 38 and 49.

This will be our last child and with my previous pregnancies, I have always waited until the 20 weeks scan to announce it.

But it is a very personal decision - there is no right or wrong.

Thank you. I think we will wait until the 20week scan, I’ve told one friend as has my husband - just so we have people to confide in but we’re just not ready to tell family.
I’d like to tell family when we know the gender as I think my mum will drive me insane guessing Lol.

Cherry1703 · 17/04/2025 15:52

Hey ladies.. hope everybody is doing well! I had my 20 week scan yesterday and all is well with baby ❤️
We decided to not find out the gender and hubby made sure of this as he firmly covered my eyes! Ultrasound tech was lovely and told us to look away every time she was checking that area, howeverrrrr, as we were leaving, she realised she hadn't checked baby's bladder, so when I was getting ready for her to have another look, she said 'please make sure you don't look at the screen if you don't want to know the gender' was this a giveaway??? Hubby is now certain it's a boy because of her reaction?!? 🤦🏻‍♀️ xx

MyGardenDaisies · 18/04/2025 23:10

@Cherry1703 no, if you saw on the screen area between baby’s legs, you would know yourself from looking if it’s a girl too. I think it can be either

EEB1989 · 19/04/2025 09:40

Morning Ladies,

Has anyone used Chat GPT to guess the gender of their scan? I did…

Ive no idea if it’s correct. Just fun to guess.

Scarftown · 19/04/2025 17:18

Oo I hadn't thought of that. Do you just put the scan pic in?

Scarftown · 19/04/2025 17:18

Yes, I popped mine in and asked for it to tell me the gender by the ramzi theory (I can’t see a nub on my photos) I uploaded all my photos and it checked the ramzi theory and then it suggested the nub and skull theories, it was consistent with the answer being one gender.

I’ll have to wait and see at our 20week scan if it’s true.

ThatSnugSwan · 20/04/2025 10:03

18 weeks today, 21 weeks left as I'm booked in a week early for a csection.
Feeling movement since 16 weeks that have now turned to kicks, absolutely love the feeling. 3rd baby and posteier placenta

MyGardenDaisies · 21/04/2025 12:04

Hey ladies!

20w on Friday, got scan on Thursday, and feeling kicks daily now 🥰 that’s been so lovely and reassuring!
Over half way now officially towards C section and baby’s birthday 🤗

I’m 42 so I had the NIPT test privately - it was really reassuring if you did want to get tested for trisomy (although when I had my youngest at 35 I didn’t worry about this!) ☺️

TheGreenCrab · 21/04/2025 18:09

Hi all - I’m new to this group but as it seems quite busy I thought I would ask here for advice! I’m 42 and 18 weeks along with surprise baby number 4 - For the last couple of weeks I’ve had a few episodes of feeling light headed and dizzy - I didn’t have this in my previous pregnancies so just wondered if anyone had any experience of this (and it going again quickly!)

hotpotlover · 21/04/2025 18:55

@TheGreenCrab I'm 38 and also pregnant with baby nr 4.

I also felt light headed and dizzy a couple of times during this pregnancy.

I have to take 150 mg of aspirin each day as I'm a higher risk of pre-eclampsia.

Not sure if its related to the tablets I am taking.

hotpotlover · 21/04/2025 19:00

Well, ChatGTP is telling me that it will be a girl.

This will be our 3rd girl, we have 1 boy and 2 girls.

We're absolutely happy of course whatever it will be, the main thing is that the baby is healthy.

My 4 1/2 year old son however has said that he would like a brother, which won't happen, as this will be our last baby.

Any tips how we can help him with the upcoming gender disappointment? 😄 xxx

MrsH26 · 21/04/2025 19:24

@TheGreenCrab
Does it happen randomly, or when you get up/stand up/change position? It’s most likely a bit of lower blood pressure due to position change or standing

Cherry1703 · 21/04/2025 19:25

I don't think chatGPT is a reliable source.. my sister in law and best friend uploaded their boy scan pics on to it and it said girl for them.. so there might still be a chance of your son having a little brother..?
It's currently saying girl for me too but we've decided not to find out the sex of the baby.

I'm one of 3 girls. When my mum was expecting the third my sister said she would leave home if it was another girl.
She quite quickly decided to stay and all three of us have been close.

I have looked into the NIPT but it’s £300ish and I’ve read quite a bit, a lot of people said the quad test at 16weeks was enough to reassure them. So I’m going to wait for that first, if that doesn’t put my mind at ease I’ll go for the NIPT.

I’ve just about saved enough for maternity leave and I’ve bought nothing for baby - that’s why I’m apprehensive about spending extra.

The sonographer did say everything looks fine and there was no reason not to celebrate (her words). We’ve no family history on either sides and I’m 99% certain all will be ok. I’ve just seen/read a few too many scary stories on here - that’s why I’m 1% anxious.

Seems pretty random - but can last for hours which makes me unsure if it’s related to blood pressure or not?

Yazzi · 22/04/2025 09:56

Hi all,

18 and a half weeks with baby #4 and not feeling movement yet- there's some swishing if I lie down and concentrate but worried it might just wishful thinking/digestion.

Anterior placenta so I know it comes later- but was definitely feeling movement by this time last baby (also anterior). Feeling a bit stressed by it. Anyone else in the same boat?

MrsH26 · 22/04/2025 10:00

Hi @Yazzi, I have an anterior placenta and it’s very sporadic! I’m 17+3, yesterday I felt loads, but the 2/3 days before that, literally nothing! I feel it in one particular place, so must be when babe is just sitting in that one position and when it moves, I don’t feel anything again

It is very normal though, even though it’s very frustrating!

Similar boat here! Have felt tiny movements every now and again (which very well could just be my digestive system 😂) but was expecting more as this is my second pregnancy.

Had an anterior placenta with DS and remember I hardly felt him move the whole time until the very end when he was pushing around, was hard not to worry about it!

Can’t offer any advice I’m afraid, just that I understand how you might be feeling about it.

I'm really struggling with the stress of this too. I'm 21 weeks and zero movement, so going out of my mind with worry. It's my first pregnancy to reach this stage so I'm desperately hoping there is movement there and I just don't know what to look for! I have my anomaly scan on Thursday so hoping for more answers then 🙏

I'm 19 weeks today with baby no.1 and I haven't felt anything that I can be sure is movement so I'm getting increasingly nervous for the 20 week scan.

A few days ago I felt some really big movements but I'm fairly certain they must have been digestive as they were so strong.

I am also pregnant with baby no 4, anterior placenta according to NHS scan, posterior placenta according to private scan.

17 weeks pregnant.

I also just feel very sporadic flutters and rolls. They aren't regular at all and some days I hardly feel anything.

Please don't worry!
