Hi all! Didn’t see an August thread yet so here we go.

I got my BFP today and my EDD is 2nd of August next year.

I’m 37 and this is my second baby, I have a son who’ll be 2 next month.

I was just wondering if anyone else's nausea is ramping up? It's approaching 7 weeks for me and I was woken unpleasantly at 6am today with that 'bleeurgh' feeling.

I've had some nausea since finding out, but not as bad as today, although I haven't actually been sick so that's a blessing.

Has anyone found anything that helps (ideally that you don't need a prescription for?)

I tried to get HCG done at the doctors because like you my anxiety was (is) through the roof after losses.

They directed me to EPU who said they wouldn’t do any tests until I was 6 weeks (not just scan, bloods too). So I called docs back and they said they don’t have the capacity to do it 🤷🏻‍♀️ they said if my anxiety was that bad I could go to A&E which obviously I didn’t as it would have been a waste of my time and theirs!

Some of the private scan places do bloods but none near me unfortunately! So I’m just in limbo until EPU will scan me at 6 weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️

@HereWeGoAgainBaby6 thats so cool, I have 3girls and a boy already, how about yourself? This was a surprise, unexpected not sure how it happened but was meant to be pregnancy haha so quite a big age gap x

@PregnantAtLast yes mine has big time. I think we’re the same timings, I’ll be 7 weeks this weekend and the past two days have been bad. No vomiting either but severely nauseous all day and food is turning my stomach. I’ve been eating a lot of Jacob’s crackers and sipping fizzy water. I find having an empty stomach makes it worse so eating little and often. Worrying about Christmas dinner though!

woke up this morning to slight red bleeding 😭 waiting for call back from doctors as chances are might have to go to my local epau to see whats going on.. feel devastated 💔

@HereWeGoAgainBaby6 keeping you in my thoughts. I and many others have had bright red blood before and gone on to continue the pregnancy. I was convinced I'd lost my son when it happened, there was a lot. Hope you can get seen by EPU soon.

@FourFeralsAndMe i have 4 boys & 1 girl currently.. as for this pregnancy it wasnt planned but was a happy unexpected suprise! dont feel like its going to end well though 😔 x

@Tadpolecat thankyou so much for your kind words.. i just feel like i knew something was going to happen as i have been stuck on clearblue 2-3 weeks for 10days(yesterday) havent took a digital today but whilst im waiting for doctors to ring me back i have to take a pregnancy test in meantime they said.. 😔💔

Can i join?👋🏻 got a positive yesterday, i'm only 3+5 so still early days but i'm having a lot of cramping today which is making me paranoid. Did anyone else have a lot of cramping at this stage? I feel so bloated as well. This is my second but i didnt find out that i was pregnant until 4+ weeks last time and dont remember this much cramping.

@HereWeGoAgainBaby6 fingers crosded everything is ok for you. I had bright red bleeding around 5 weeks with my last pregnancy and everything was ok but it was very stressful at the time. I did have some more episodes of bleeding in that pregnancy due to a low lying placenta too so understand how scary it is. Sending hugs.

I have my booking in appointment with my midwife on 16th January when I’ll be 8+1 so looking forward to that.

Quick update from me. Had my second scan today (a week apart) and bub has grown by 1 week 1 days so although I'm still 3 days behind, it feels a little less scary - measuring 7+4. Next scan at EPU isn't for 2 weeks, so I'm just going to keep busy as much as I can! Still too anxious to self refer for my booking appointment though. How late can I leave it do you think?

Had an appointment at the genetics centre yesterday and they want to put me forward to fetal medicine (if my 10 week scan is ok) to have additional scans at 16,24,30 and 30-something weeks to check for abnormalities. Trying to keep to thinking one day at a time but it's a lot.

Yes! My 19 month old is pointing at my tummy saying baby it's the weirdest thing!!

Anyone had any brown spotting? Not blood red at all but brown. I had this for a very brief time around about this time when I was pregnant with my daughter but I’ve been spotting on and off all day today and even got some on a panty liner rather than just when I wipe. I’m just 4+1 so wondering if I’m not actually quite there and it’s implantation but like I say I had this with my daughter so maybe it’s just what my body does when I’m pregnant and it’s a little bit more this time.

Trying not to worry as everything online says it’s really normal and I’m not having any pain or other symptoms with it. If anything my fatigue has really kicked in today and I’m starting to feel a bit sick which isn’t great.

@SarahB88 yes I had brown spotting constantly for 4 days from 4w to 4w4d, my lines are still looking good and I’ll be having an early scan (hopefully next week, if not the week after) due to my history. Fingers crossed for both of us, it’s so worrying isn’t it even when you know it can be ‘normal’

@Confusedmermaid1 its just so stressful isn’t it ☹️ I’ve never had any issues before so don’t think EPU would even see me. I’m going to see how things go over the weekend but I’m really worried tbh. Hopefully everything goes ok at your scan, has your spotting stopped now?

@Nikkix86 yes ive done a test this morning - still positive.. and no bleeding hasn't stopped yet, its been on & off all day :-( bright red aswell! haven't got much hope for sunday if im honest.. just feel 💔

@SarahB88 thankfully it has stopped. I’m 5 weeks today so have to be at least 6 to be scanned. I hope yours has/will stop soon. I believe they will see you after 6 weeks for any amount of bleeding if it’s still happening (though hopefully you won’t have any of course!)

@Confusedmermaid1 it’s not there every time I’ve been to the toilet today and has remained the same browny colour so hopefully it doesn’t progress and stops like yours. I’m so glad yours has stopped. I’ve got a private early reassurance scan booked for 7 +3 so hoping that’s all I need.

Well I don’t think it’s looking good for me. Test is showing negative this morning so I think my spotting must have been a miscarriage. I’ll see how the day goes but will ring the midwife.

Just thought I’d post this isn’t a personal experience but my sister in law. Just for some reassurance for anyone experiencing similar. When she was Ttc last year she had a full flown ‘period’ bled for 4 days so never tested as she just assumed it wasn’t her month. 4 weeks later when it never came she tested and was pregnant it wasn’t until her first scan they found out she was a month ahead and had just had a few days early bleeding. Her baby is healthy and happy and here so try keep the hope 🤞✨

My nausea has massively ramped up this week. I have also started vomiting and today I can barely move 😭 I tried Cyclizine in one of my previous pregnancies which did nothing so GP has put me on Prochlorperazine which so far has also not helped

I found out last night I’m pregnant!!!!!

My boyfriend and I have been “loosely” trying since Boxing Day last year. I say loosely because I came off the pill, have been tracking periods/when we’ve had sex/ovulation etc on Flo, but we’ve not been hell bent on having sex on ovulation days etc, or taking special vitamins or anything like that. We’ve been together just under three years and I’m 35, we would’ve maybe liked a bit more time together as a two, but also aware of my age etc etc.

I freaked out so much last night, I couldn’t stop laughing and saying “what do we do? What do we do?” over and over. I feel so excited!

Also feel slightly nervous about the amount of parfait/patè I’ve eaten the last couple of weeks at Christmas meals… oh and Brie- I had Brie last weekend. My mind is just in overdrive! I also had a few drinks a couple of weeks ago. We did a clearblue test that said I’ve been pregnant for 3+ weeks. I checked my Flo app and we had sex on November 20th and that was my most fertile day, so going to heavily assume that was my conception day.

So… what am I actually supposed to do now? Make a doctors appointment? Contact a private provider? Seek out a midwife? Literally no idea!!!! I’m just really overwhelmed and excited!
