Hi all! Didn’t see an August thread yet so here we go.

Hi ladies. Can I join? Only 4 weeks so feeling apprehensive. We have had 3 chemical pregnancies since my 3 year old was born. This pregnancy already feels very different from the last three so I'm feeling hopeful. Scan booked for the 2nd January which feels ages away!

Would love to join the WhatsApp group as well!!

Hi ladies,

Im not sure who on here is/isn’t in the WhatsApp group, but as I am I haven’t been catching up on this thread as much.

Congrats to all new comers 🫶🏻 everyone’s plans of announcing over Christmas are so wholesome!

My update isn’t as positive as I would like, I had some brown spotting on Wednesday last week and some one sided pain so GP referred me over to the EPU who scanned me on Sunday. They think the pregnancy is in the correct location, but I am measuring behind even my own dates (5+1) and I had my ovulation confirmed via ultrasound so have a very good idea. They could only find a small gest sac measuring 5mm and potentially see a yolk sac but too small to confirm. They suggested it was around 4.5 weeks but didn’t want to commit to a date due to the size. I have a re-scan on Christmas Eve to assess if there is any growth/change and I’m where I should be. To say I’m anxious is an understatement, it feels even more overwhelming that it’s on Xmas Eve as I’m really struggling with how mentally I can present as normal around family at Christmas if we receive bad news, as I haven’t told anyone yet.

I hope everyone else is getting on better with much more positive stories!!

SarahB88 · 19/12/2024 12:51

Did another test just to confirm 😂

I called the midwife and missed her return call, how annoying! It’s my midwife that I had before though so I’m really excited about that as she was just fab.

Noticed my hunger has started ramping up now!

There won't be a dry eye in the room when I give my mum her present! Her mum (my nan) passed away just over a month ago, and my mum said something like I hope she sends you a baby because she knows how long we've been trying
So I got her a baby grow and it says 'sent with love from nanny in heaven' 🤍🤍

This made me cry 😭😭😭😭 how precious xx

Kindafreakingouthere · 19/12/2024 13:24

Hey everyone...wondering if I can join
Very shocked mama here 🙈 I have a 13month old and was not planning on having another but have an early positive test! According to nhs calculator I'll be due 31st August.
Still very much processing but thought I'd put in a little placeholder. Hope everyone is keeping well. I feel sick but not sure if early symptoms or just total shock!

I'm keeping everything crossed for you 🖤 has the bleeding stopped now? How far did you think you were? Sending positive vibes for your next scan next week xx

Nikkix86 · 19/12/2024 13:27

I've caved and booked an early scan for the 7th Jan I think I'll be about 8 weeks but as I didn't have a period I have no idea how far I actually am

Hello @SarahB88

Just joining here and saw your post which chimed with me. I. Am. So. Hungry! I suppose Christmas isn't a bad time to be feeling this way.

What week are you in? I think I'm 6w and 3ish.

Very envious to hear you've got your previous midwife back, I'm hoping that will be the case for me too. I referred myself online though and haven't heard back. How long has it been since your last baby?

I did just get a scan letter out of the blue today though- January 22nd which is going to fly tound with Christmas in the middle.
Last time they sent me too early because I have a long cycle but they went off LMP so I was only 10 weeks and needed to go back. This time the date means I'll be 11w and 2 so should be okay.

Hope everyone is doing well 💐

Row23 · 19/12/2024 13:37

Pleased to say I feel nauseous today. With my last pregnancy I didn’t feel anything and it ended at about 7/8 weeks, so I’ve been really overthinking my lack of symptoms. Logically I know that no symptoms doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong, just as having symptoms doesn’t mean something won’t go wrong. But I just feel grateful that at this stage things seem to be going better than last time.
I’m not enjoying feeling sick when I have a 1.5 year old to run around after though!
Booked a scan when I’ll be 8 weeks in early Jan, so something to look forward to after Christmas 😊

Did you find the cyclazine worked straight away for you? I’ve been taking it for just over 24 hours (on my 4th dose now) and haven’t noticed any difference. Don’t know whether to stick it out and see if it improves or ask to try something else as I know this doesn’t work for everyone!

I have just started on Xoneva and I feel almost normal today. It's a bit of a pain to take.. you need an empty tummy so two hours after food and one hour before you eat again. My tummy was rumbling!!

Thank you! Yes I only had the brown spotting once when I wiped over a week ago now - praying it stays that way!! I thought I was 5+1 and they wouldn’t give an exact date to me as it was so small but suggested maybe 4 and a half weeks so 4/5 days behind where I thought based off a confirmed ovulation date!

I’m only 4+1 so super super early! I was feeling sick by this time with my daughter though so it’s nice to be hungry instead 😂

I’m so happy it’s my previous midwife, she said she’s excited too but she’ll say that to all her returning ladies! My daughter just turned 7 months so it’s not long since I saw her 🙈

Oh wow! My daughter is 2.5y so not fully expecting mine to remember me!

Hunger is definitely better than sickness, I'm weirdly a bit of both sometimes. Like aware I get hungry, then immediately feel sick so eating kind of prevents the nausea rising.

I had HG last time so really hoping I’m not in for it again but so far so good. 6 weeks was really bad for me before so will see how I am in a couple of weeks.

2.5 years isn’t that long ago, she might remember you!

FourFeralsAndMe · 19/12/2024 20:49

Hey all I’ve recently found out I’m due my 5th in August, EDD 15th and was completely unexpected. So good to find this thread. Very early on so no real symptoms bar sore boobs so far, will have a look out and join the WhatsApp group of ok x

Notsure31 · 19/12/2024 21:10

I’ve just found out I am pregnant, due on 30th of August. I’ve had recurrent miscarriages before and no living children so apprehensive but doing all I can (progesterone and baby aspirin). Early scan at EPU on 4th of January x

HereWeGoAgainBaby6 · 19/12/2024 21:13

@FourFeralsAndMe hi 👋🏻 we have the same due date 😊 also only 1 child in difference between us 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 we must be crazy! haha

MrsB902 · 19/12/2024 21:43

Does anyone who already has a child/children feel like they can sense you’re pregnant? I know that sounds crackers as it’s so early still but my little boy is usually such a daddy’s boy to the point where I sometimes don’t get a look in at all, however the last week or so he’s been super clingy with me! It’s as if he knows.

Hope everyone is feeling good and hanging on in there avoiding all of the nice foods and drink over Christmas!

HereWeGoAgainBaby6 · 19/12/2024 22:36

@MrsB902 this is something i firmly believe is true just from my own expeiences when i was pregnant with our daughter in early days,.. my youngest little boy would quite often lay down partially on me placing is head on my tummy which i found rather sweet 😊 tbf he would pretty much cling to me throughout the pregnancy and quite often give the bump a cuddle! i genuinely think if animals like dogs can sense pregnancy, why cant our children too? i know they know we are pregnant before we do 💯 😂 so glad you have mentioned this! was saying to my partner only other day its like our little girl (10months) knows im pregnant as she seems to off gone off me and is now all for her dad 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 haha! x

RW269 · 19/12/2024 23:25

Hello! I’d like to join y’all on the august 2025 hype! 12 months of trying, a chemical and a miscarriage but here we are. Positive tests and due end of august ☺️🤞 Nerves are a wreck hoping it sticks but I’m here for the excitement!! Hope you’re all keeping well 🩷✨

Notsure31 · 20/12/2024 06:47

Has anyone bothered trying to get hcg tests run though the doctors when there’s not any ongoing problematic symptoms e.g pain/bleeding?

im only 3+6 and not having any problematic symptoms but I’m really anxious because of previous miscarriages. My tests are getting darker but today’s was pretty much the same as yesterday’s. I’m not sure if having bloods at the doctors would just make me more anxious though particularly for those 2 days? Or even if they would likely let me have them? EPU wouldn’t do them I don’t think unless there’s any pain or bleeding x

PregnantAtLast · 20/12/2024 06:58

@Notsure31 So sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages - it's completely understandable that you are feeling anxious.

I'm not sure if they would do tests but it might be worth asking, they might do if you mention you are anxious because of previous miscarriages? Or could you afford to get it done privately?

But you're right, whether or not it would actually reassure you is the question.
It's such an anxious period isn't it? Sending you positive thoughts and I hope that everything will be OK for you xx
