Hi all! Didn’t see an August thread yet so here we go.

I got my BFP today and my EDD is 2nd of August next year.

I’m 37 and this is my second baby, I have a son who’ll be 2 next month.

Welcome to all other August mums-to-be and please introduce yourselves! ♥️

I also have high motabolism and with my daughter I ate everything in sight from very early on, and didn't put weight on until right at the end - so enjoy all them snacks!!! I know I am 😂 I'd finished my dinner before my partner even sat down to eat his tonight lol and then had seconds lol

Did you have one embryo transferred, or more?
I think the high rates of twins in IVF are mostly to do with people who have more than one embryo put back in... so if you just had one, hopefully you'll be fine (assuming twins aren't something you would love!)
I have twin brothers and remember what they were like as babies - very hard work! 😅
Feel free to keep me updated on things - sounds like we're in a similar boat and similar timeframe! :) (but no pressure of course!)

Oh my gosh, tell me about it. I have a horrible combination of nausea AND hunger, which is really screwing with me!
I feel nauseous a lot of the day and then suddenly I'll get a massive hunger pang and have to eat RIGHT NOW!
It's a nightmare - need to get better at keeping healthy snacks in the house because I've been eating too much junk. I keep craving McDonalds 😫

@DragonflyRuby - Just seen this lovely! I went on promethazine and it is working and kicked in as soon as I took it for the first time but I really noticed a difference after I'd taken it about 3 times! My stomach feels really weird when I first wake up but once I get some food in me - it begins to settle 🫶🏻 I hope you've managed to get some medication 💕

@TTCBabyHoward Thank you! I got some Cyclizine which I think is the same sort of thing. Definitely noticing some improvement after taking it before bed and this morning so hoping it gets even more effective. I’m the same, have to force myself to eat but I do feel better most of the time when I do!

@tpeas I had a beta done at 13dp5dt so 4+4 weeks and it was 2,259. Had one done the same time with my last pregnancy and it was just over 1000

@Autumn245 ah thank you that's a relief! Seems to be a lot of variation then. I can rest a bit easier then until my scan😅

@tpeas Thank you! I just had the one too, so hoping it's not twins... although if it is, we will somehow cope - I do get more worried as there are twins on both sides for us 😅

@PregnantAtLast don't you worry, the fraternal twins (which are the hereditary ones) only depends on the mom, because it happens when the woman hyperovulates.. so that the side of your husband has twins, actually does not affect your odds! But if in the side of your family there are twins (fraternal) then you might carry the gene for Hyperovulation! Good luck :)

Interesting! There are twins on my side, but I don't think I get hyperovulation - I've had years of fertility treatment and nobody has mentioned it.
I've got my first scan later today so maybe we'll find out.. not sure how much they can see at 6 weeks!

How is everyone feeling? Does everyone have their booking appointments coming up? Mines on the 9th Jan and I can't even remember what they do it's been 8 years since I was pregnant with my daughter 😅

Much better this week! Booking app is on NYE for me. Also have early scan booked for next Monday. Can't wait!

Aw that great can't wait to hear about how everyone's scans have gone ☺️ I was tempted to book one but then I was like maybe I should just wait till my 12 week scan 😅

Hi all, I hope everyone is doing well. I’m 7 + 5 today and the cyclizine & B6 is helping with my nausea thank god! I have my private scan late this afternoon so feeling excited and nervous and trying to keep distracted!

I have mine on 2nd Jan :) (and an early scan on 28th Dec!). Starting to feel so real now which sounds silly, but I still thought all of this was too good to be true! Xx

Hi everyone, just got my BFP today so hoping I can join in the August group ☺️ Flo is telling me expected date is 28th August.

This is our second, we’ve got a 7 month old daughter so excited for her to get a little playmate! I’m nearly 37 and this was our first cycle trying so neither of us were expecting it to happen straight away!

I’ve booked an early viability scan for 11th January when I should be 7+2 which is about what I was when we got one with DD and saw her heartbeat flickering away. Need to ring the midwife to get sorted for my booking in appointment and we’ll tell my family on Xmas day as they will all wonder why I’m not drinking! They know we wanted a second soon so it shouldn’t be a surprise.

I have twins on my side of the family so now got that few weeks wait to the early viability scan to make sure it’s not twins 😂 I couldn’t bear waiting to the 12 week scan in case it was twins last time, same again this time obviously! Most of my mums aunties are twins and she’s got a few sets of twin cousins 😬

I had HG last time so really hoping to avoid that this time, sorry to see some of you are suffering with it, it’s really horrible. I’m sure I was already feeling ropey at this point before but I feel totally fine just now so fingers crossed I’ll dodge it.

I'm also sharing the news Christmas Day, my family are big drinkers so I'll stand out like a sore thumb 😂😂

@rebecca199 thats the same as us so it’ll be really noticeable if I’m not 😂 glad I bought some nosecco now just in case! Hoping I can eat more this year, I was 5 months pregnant last Xmas and didn’t really feel like I had much room for all the food! I was raging 😂

I'm only 4 weeks so nothing major kicked in yet and hoping it holds off yntil after I've enjoyed my Christmas dinner 😂
I did my self referral today so waiting for appointments now
Spoke to GP yesterday who's speaking to consultant about me starting aspirin due to multiple early losses, and also hoping to refer me for early scan with EPU (last pregnancy was a potential ectopic so just want to confirm placement)
If they don't scan me I'll just book a private one for 6-7 weeks!

😂😂 hopefully we keep a good appetite and can enjoy all the roast spuds!!

I'm going to get some 0% fruity ciders and see if anyone notices and if they don't I might try hold off on sharing! I'm so undecided haha. I'll probs just get too excited and blurt it out the second I see them lol

I had a scan at the EPU today due to some spotting and we saw our little bean with a heartbeat fluttering away! Due date 2nd August and measuring 7+2, exactly where I thought. So happy and relieved 🙏🏻 Now to think how to tell our close family at Christmas!!
