@Tara033 I hope you’re ok. Did you decide to do the private scan? Sending love ❤️

Congrats @Nikkix86 @HereWeGoAgainBaby6 You guys can give us first timers lots of tips!!

@DragonflyRuby I'm trying to stay positive until I manage to get seen by the early preg. unit, still waiting for a call back, but my midwife offered to push them if I don't hear anything back. The private scan was yesterday, booked it last minute due to the spotting which hasn't stopped yet.
It's a waiting game now.. thanks for the lovely thoughts 🥰

@HereWeGoAgainBaby6 Great idea! But I can’t copy & paste on my phone! I’m due 1st if anyone can put me in. I suspect that’ll change when I have my scan though as I think i ovulated on day 17 not 14.

@DragonflyRuby i will do it for you :-) is this your first baby? x

DragonflyRuby · 12/12/2024 20:39

Hi folks. Thanks so much for all your advice / replies to me. @Harriet1989 @LolaJ87 @Tara033 I did end up booking in to a private ultrasound place and went after work last night. The little embryo is measuring at the right size for me to be 7 weeks which matches up with my dates and we could see the wee heartbeat. They said everything looks as it should and she could tell by looking which side I ovulated from as could see the inflammation / corpus luteum on it (apparently normal- news to me ! ) but hopefully that also explains / reassures me about some of the right side abdominal pain I’ve been having the last few weeks, and now I can at least be assured that the pregnancy is where it’s supposed to be and doing what it’s meant to at this point. @Tara033 how did you get on with seeing someone at your EPU - any luck yet ?

Ahh I'm so glad! I have a private scan booked at 7 weeks (next Fri) and I'd be really pleased to see what you've seen xx

That's great news @TheCoralFish! So happy for you 🥳🥳. It does make a difference when the scan gives you reassurance.
Are you still experiencing the brown ish discharge?
I still haven't heard from EPU.. I am chasing everyone apart from my GP who will most likely send me to A&E as that's what they tend to do. I'm still spotting/ slightly bleeding, not enough to fill a pad.I'm still having pregnancy symptoms.
I will keep you all posted xx

Hey everyone! Hope you’re ok. I am useless at following chats - I forget to read and all of a sudden there’s 8 pages of new messages haha!
just sending you all love & hoping everything is progressing well for you all. 6 weeks and a day for me today - nausea is starting slowly.. the only other symptom i’ve had is sore boobs so it’s reassuring in a way albeit quite to struggle to force myself to eat! Jacob crackers are my best friend! Xx

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well @JW24M I’m the same as you - terrible at keeping up with the thread!

For those going through a particularly stressful time, full of worry, I’ve got everything crossed for you that you get some reassurance soon.

Is anyone suffering with awful nausea 24 hours a day? The only time I don’t feel it is when I finally manage to get to sleep! I’m nearly 7 weeks but struggling to do my job and get through the days. I’m lucky I’ve not actually been sick yet but just wondered if anyone has any tips? Slightly apprehensive about the very busy Christmas coming up and trying to act like a normal human! I’m sure lots of people are going through the same. This is my first pregnancy.

thanks ☺️

Bless you! Sounds a bit debilitating. I’ve researched in prep and all I have really taken away is small little meals frequently, things that won’t irritate, avoiding lying on right side to sleep as it can bother your stomach (nothing to do with baby), plenty of water and rest. Very much trying to ride the wave until second trimester hopefully reduces it. If it is really bad, you can speak to doctor for medication too. I’ve heard wrist bands like anti car sickness etc can help - just check the brand/type is safe xx

Ahh the nausea is horrible isn’t it.
The best things I found to help with my first pregnancy was eating little and often. Don’t have big meals. Eat something before bed and as soon as you wake up. Maybe even have some snacks next to your bed so if you wake in the night you can eat something.
Same with drinks. Little and often. I found that really cold water helped. Some people like to chew ice. Lemon and ginger tea and Peppermint tea are good to settle the stomach.
Anti sea sickness acupressure bands were great. Basically try to snack on plain, dry food. Avoid greasy, fatty things. Try to have healthy main meals. You want to try to avoid being too hungry or too full. And rest - which is much easier said than done!

jessiexo · 13/12/2024 20:11

Hey all!

Any peering eyes have a look and let me know what you think?! I’m not sure, I hate taking tests early because the last time I did it ended in a chemical pregnancy but I’m also very impatient. If the tests turns out to be positive which I will test again in a couple of days then I will be due 26th August!

Agree with all of this!

I have some plain biscuits by my bed and force myself to eat a couple when I wake up. I find when I'm hungry I feel the worst so I try and snack on something regularly just to avoid it getting to that point.

Fatty or fried foods make me feel bad too. I have found cold / icy smoothies are nice.

I did call my GP yesterday tho after a couple of days of basically achieving nothing and with my daughters birthday and Christmas coming up I need to be able to do something! She prescribed me some medication so going to try that tomorrow when it's her party

I was physically sick for the first time today which was a shock after having nausea my first pregnancy but never actually being sick!
