The only reason I feel like I need to tell them is because I have a high performing job & I am already knackered! I really want to keep it to myself for as long as possible though. The last time they panicked & made me do as much work as possible up until the last point

Justbloodylovecrisps · 10/12/2024 07:41

@HereWeGoAgainBaby6 you could always ask your GP to prescribe it! I got it with my last pregnancy as I had spotting. Didn't even ask for it, or really know what it was & they prescribed it! X

Autumn245 · 10/12/2024 07:58

@HereWeGoAgainBaby6 strangely with IVF pregnancies NHS prescribe progesterone as they know that the placenta doesn't fully take over until 12 weeks. Definitely worth getting progesterone levels tested to see if you need it topped up with meds

OneGladTiger · 10/12/2024 08:16

I’ve woken up today to light brown spotting ☹️ do I need to contact my GP or wait and see if it gets any worse?

DragonflyRuby · 10/12/2024 08:20

@OneGladTiger Sorry you have that to worry about. I know it’s really normal and more than half of pregnancies have spotting at some point. I think as long as it’s not heavy or bright red try not to think the worst. I’d definitely call your GP if you need some reassurance though. My local EPU you have to be referred by the GP anyway. Sending a hug ❤️

Chie1999 · 10/12/2024 08:39

@OneGladTiger I'm wishing you well and please remain positive. Sending you a hug ❤️

Tadpolecat · 10/12/2024 08:47

@OneGladTiger I had this the other day. It stopped very quickly. I've said on here before - with my son, I had a lot of bright red blood, aswell as brown spotting. One occasion was like a period, the other occasion was a sudden big gush at night that went all over the bed! It was terrifying and I thought it was bad news. DS is now nearly 3 and still no idea why I had this!

Hi all! Would love to join this forum too :)
I am 5+ 1. This will be my second. I have a little girl who is almost 17 months old, so I will be joining the 2 under 2 club 🙄scary though! My due date is around 11th August ( same as my first pregnancy)
I was wondering if there is any other breastfeeding mums in the group!
Count on me for the WhatsApp group
I was touched by some of the stories i have read in this group. Wishing everyone a smooth first trimester and a nice day!

wouldlovearoast · 10/12/2024 11:49

Hey everyone! Please can I join?

Found out on holiday I'm pregnant and due 15th August. I'm 35 with identical twin girls, really excited to have one more to join to the gang. I don't have many symptoms except tiredness which isn't that new for me been a twin Mum, and a weird metal taste in my mouth. Kind of hoping I have more symptoms just so I feel pregnant as anxiety keeps creeping in that it isn't actually happening!
Based in North Yorkshire so going to see if I can get booked in for an early scan, has anyone had one before and what week can you have them done by?

Congratulations to everyone! 💐

TannerJames11 · 10/12/2024 12:08

Trying to create a WhatsApp group but can’t work out how without adding one of my contacts already, I know it’s early but I need someone to talk to about our August arrivals 😂 I have so many questions and panics all the time haha ! If anyone feels like creating the group or talking me through how that would be fab :)

wouldlovearoast · 10/12/2024 12:12

I'de love to be in a whatsapp group. Please let me know how I can be in one :-)

KT199 · 10/12/2024 12:26

I would be happy to join a WhatsApp group too 😊

Attheyard · 10/12/2024 12:39

@wouldlovearoast (am craving a roast now haha)

I was told by the OBGYN who runs my early scan clinic that 8 weeks is best, if you can hold out that long. Apparently it’s more reliable by that point, especially if like me you have longer cycles. I’m anticipating my dates to be off anyway, as no idea when I ovulated. I just know sex was definitely 16th November as I was away the rest of the time around then. Some people here are going at 7 weeks or even earlier if under the EPU which is also fine! She just said the risk of miscarriage decreases again after 8 weeks as well.

I’m anxious today because I don’t feel nauseous whereas I have the last week or so felt at least a mild nausea every day. I know symptoms come and go but apart from some fatigue this is literally all I have. Should I take another test? I’m 5*2 according to LMP and haven’t tested since Thursday so 5 days ago.

JenRi · 10/12/2024 12:51

@samuk congratulations on your +ve test that's great news 🙂.

I haven't had HCG so can't advise there - do they seem concerned about it not doubling?

I've had barely any CM either @so we have that in common!

@Attheyard I don't feel as nauseous today either so I'm also trying not to worry about it 😬

DragonflyRuby · 10/12/2024 12:59

@Attheyard @JenRi It must be the day for it as I don’t feel as nauseous today as I have been. I did feel pretty gross this morning but it’s got a lot better. I’m trying to tell myself it’s because I’ve been forcing myself to eat something every couple of hours but I still can’t help but worry!

My scan is next week at 7+5. I would have loved to have gone earlier but I know there’s every chance it won’t be very clear and I know I’d worry more. I’m hoping that close to 8 weeks will give a much clearer picture.

wouldlovearoast · 10/12/2024 13:11

@Attheyard ideally a roast everyday would be ideal ha. Would end up like an actual pig in blanket...

No harm in doing a test, I'm probably insane as I'm doing a test strip everyday to see line progression and just to make sure it doesn't get fainter, I just use the easy at home ones as a big box from Amazon is £8 and then stick them to a piece of paper so I can follow the lines everyday, it really does put my mind at ease especially after my pregnancy history ( 3 MC's and ectopic). Also symptom spotting is no fun but apparently it comes and goes in 1st Trimester, I can't remember what I had with my first pregnancy with my daughters but sure I had more symtoms then I do now. Easier said than done, but try not to worry!

wouldlovearoast · 10/12/2024 13:12

@DragonflyRuby did you go private with the scan or get in with the NHS? I will probably have to wait until a few days before Christmas to be over 6 weeks but I may just wait until later

DragonflyRuby · 10/12/2024 13:15

@wouldlovearoast Mine is private. Don’t have my booking appt until 6th Jan so no idea when my 12 week scan will be!
I’m still testing most days with the easy at home strips too! I find them reassuring. Do you mind if I ask what the symptoms were with your ectopic? I’m quite anxious as I have endometriosis and I know the risk is a bit higher and I’ve had quite a lot of cramps although I keep trying to tell myself it’s normal! I totally understand if it’s too upsetting to think about and I hope you don’t mind me asking. ❤️

PenguinOnTheMoon · 10/12/2024 13:18

Finally got offered a booking appointment for the 23rd! But I'm out of the country for Christmas seeing family, so will need to reschedule. Can't seem to get through on the phone to change it yet, but looks like it'll be after the 10 week target now.

Anyone else got a booking appointment date after 11 weeks?

samuk · 10/12/2024 13:35

Hi thank you for ur msg no they do not seem concerned or worried but it's private clinic that did test I paid for them separately so there all about money tbh, just with my history makes me anxious how far gone are you? Wish u all the best I'm glad I'm Not the only one missing out on cm 🤣

wouldlovearoast · 10/12/2024 13:37

@DragonflyRuby no I don't mind at all 💓Sorry if this is a trigger warning for anyone*

I started with what felt like a UTI, then I got a fever, pains got really strong in my lower tummy and then I got a huge lump and passed out with the pain. No painkillers helped - not even my post c-section ones. This was all within 2 days so it was quick, I didn't even know I was pregnant at the time.
They rushed me in for a scan but by then it had ruptured and I was internally bleeding and had a few hours to live I had lost that much blood - had a blood clot the size of a grapefruit so had surgery and one of my tubes removed, few blood transfusions etc and recovered quickly after a few days in hospital.

If you're concerned at all, get on the phone to your doctor and push for an early scan (6 weeks is minimum I think) I'm hoping they will get me in early this time again just to make sure all is OK as think when you've had one ectopic I'm at risk of having another which is not great for me to know but it is what it is and hopefully mother nature is on my side this time...
