Hi newbishad - I'm feeling much better today thanks and I had today booked off as holiday so only 6 more "working" days but may be slacking ever so slightly towards the end.... well....it's a lot of effort to empty a desk and organise files...! It's just a shame I missed our NCT class last night where they were discussing C-sections so better hope I dontso better hope I don't 't have one or I won't have a clue what is going on!

newbishad · 01/05/2008 11:33

Hi all,

One day nearer to the big day. Hope your all okay.

Glad you are feeling better gingerwench. I was at ante-natal classes last night and we talked about looking after a newborn. It sounds really daunting. I am not a good sleeper at the best of times so I really don't know how it's going to be, though I guess you learn as you go along don't you? I'm terribly excited at the same time though. It's our month now!!! You'll probably pick up most of the information about C sections in a book Expecting to Expect is really good!

Neezandherttwinbeans: That's really exciting having both a boy and a girl. Have you thought of names. We have been told we are having a girl and we've decided on the name Emily Mirium. (Mirium because she was an IVF baby and was conceived on the Jewish New Year) back in September. Seems so long ago now! I think your also due on 29th May. We might be around the same time if yours come early and mine is induced.

Lots of love

June thread is massive and scary so I'll post here instead - due 12th June, first baby (and it's a boy!).
Love mumsnet - stops me feeling quite so alone, although I'll think twice before posting on the breastfeeding board again!!

Next snack due now...

Becky77 · 01/05/2008 15:35

Jesus, I'm up for a wee at least 6 times in the night these days... Does that mean baby has dropped into the birth canal a bit I wonder??

Essie3 · 01/05/2008 15:51

I'm the same - weeing several times a night, and just looking at a drink makes me want to go! Let's hope he's getting ready for his appearance!
I'm fed up of being pregnant too, and getting rather huge and feel all stretched!

Becky77 · 01/05/2008 16:21

So know the feeling!!

@ Neezandherttwinbeans - I saw the cutest boy/girl twins in the supermarket today they must've been about 6 months and the way the were with each other was sooo cute.., gurgling and singing... Made me wish I was having the same

vicsta · 01/05/2008 16:40

Hello all! Due June 3rd and can't wait for this pregnancy to be over. Very tired now and can't sleep at all. Stubborn baby STILL transverse and kicking lumps out of me. Wish it would use that energy to get head down! Visited MW led unit on Saturday and want to move in, its so nice. Hopefully baby will turn soon and I will get to go there - keep fingers crossed. Have 7 more working days to go B4 ML starts - woohoo! Not that I'm obsessively counting or anything. No stretch marks - YET!

charlotte121 · 03/05/2008 21:57

hey ladies... its the weekend!!!! Time for rest at last! Its starting to get scary tho, each weekend seems to come round so fast which means another week has gone by so baby is even closer to being here and still nothing is ready.
not sure when to get my hospital bag ready, knowing me it'll get done when i go into labour! has anyone else got their bag ready yet? I remember packing way too much stuff last time so this time im going to be slightly more economical in my selection this time around.
Any one else suffereing from rediculously low iron levels? my doctor is threatening me with injections... im not good with neadles and im turning green from all the brocoli im eating!
I look disgusting. I am covered in stretch marks and feel gross. And i feel enormous so cant wait to have my body back... although im not sure what condition it will be returned to me. hope everyone else id doing ok. char x

Hi all. Hope your well.

Charolotte121,
I'm anemic but not suffering from really low levels. Have to take tablets. However DP is injecting me twice daily with low weight molecular warfrin because I have a DVT. It's horrible but you get used to it!

Sleep well

ampster · 06/05/2008 10:00

thanks newbishad! a woman here at work just told me that her friend who was due on may 28th had her baby yesterday! but i don't feel anything, any braxton hicks or whatever. i just know he's going to stick around in there giving me restless legs, backaches, constant peeing and carpal tunnel syndrome till the last possible moment.... ;)

newbishad · 06/05/2008 12:36

Hi all,

Mine's showing no signs of moving either....except to give me intermitant bad nights, breathlessness and a few other lovely things also till the last possible momment.

I wouldn't change it for the world.

Anyone gone shopping for baby yet. We got a whole load of things on Saturday. A lovely Moses basket and play mats and things.

Orissiah · 07/05/2008 19:22

Hello, Can I join? I'm due 1st June.

Really tired but am on maternity leave now so napping away whenever I feel like it. We've just started online grocery shopping which is fantastic - no more carrying heavy bags in this hot weather.

My baby is head down and kicking out and stretching loads. We feel her rolling around but essentially she stays in the same head down position.

My pelvis is beginning to heard so I guess she's getting lower down into it. I'm doing those natal hynotherapy meditations for birth and am booked into my hospital's birthing centre with water pool but really I have no clue how I am going to cope with the actual birth itself :-(

We also bought heaps of baby things on Saturday. Strangely we haven't bought any toys yet - I keep seeing those black and white baby cloth books and mobiles suitable from birth which I may buy from Amazon - anyone heard of them? I bought an activity gym but want to buy a rattle and a teddy bear. What toys have you all bought (or had bought for you) if any?

newbishad · 08/05/2008 15:03

Orissiah

Course you can join in. The more the merrier.

We are washing baby things today because we bought most of it at a car boot sale. It's all nearly new though! She's got two lots of play mats, a Moses basket, baby monitor, swing chair with different speeds, bouncy chair ect.

Orissiah · 08/05/2008 15:07

Hi Newbishad, We have a bouncy chair, but is it a good idea for us to buy a swing too? O

Becky77 · 08/05/2008 15:28

I am SOOOOOO hot today... Wishing I was on maternity leave already, but only another 3 weeks before I'm out of here... Hopefully it wont be so hot that whole time!!

Baby is wriggling around tonnes today. I don't think she can get comfy when I'm sat at a desk all day long!

29 days and counting until she is due!!!!!

vicsta · 08/05/2008 18:57

Way too hot now, waddling about in work and suffering very bad headaches (thankfully checked out and all OK). Bloody baby STILL transverse, have presentation scan on Monday. Finishing work on Weds, can't wait. Hope you are all well x

newbishad · 09/05/2008 12:13

Hi all,

I am struggling too with the heat and poor nights sleep. I was up at the hospital last night because of high blood pressure but it came down. Doctor prescribed a low dose of tamasapam for bad nights and monoclonic jerks but I only took half a tablet because of the known risks and got 6 hours sleep which is better. Awake from 4.00am though so am tired.

Baby is lying back to back but has started to enage.

20 days until my due date and counting. Hope they decide to induce me soon. Will hear on Monday.

Orissiah: Don't know about the swing chiar. It just happened to be on sale at a good price so we thought we'd try it. The person we bought it from said his daughter hadn't enjoyed it but I've spoken to two other people who have sworn by it so I guess it
depends on the baby.

Hope you are all well.

we had a bouncy chair for ds... it was the best thing we bought. was somewhere safe for the baby to be put down and it vibrated so was good for getting him off to sleep. just need some new batteries for it for this one. wud deffo reccomend buying things second hand. they grow out of everything really quickly and some toys are £50/£60 a throw and theres no garente ur baby is going to like it. would also reccomendd pound stretcher, asda and tesco for low cost baby grows etc. it will save u a fortune.

i thought i was going to melt yesterday. It was horrible... i cant wait to have the baby and be able to enjoy the summer, go out buy some nice clothes. I have seen some lush stuff in next and have even been fake tanning my legs so that i can attempt to look nice for the summer.

Does any one have any plans to go on hooliday over the summer? char x

Phew I've finished work today! Fantastic. No more tryng to look vaguely professional despite swollen ankles and hardly any clothes fitting. I've started getting heartburn over the last week or so at night - Gaviscon helps but isn't the panacea I thought it would be. I wake up with a mouthful of stomach acid and have to run to the bathroom So I've taken to sleeping more upright propped up on pillows although that doesn't helpo the bump. I thought I;d escaped heartburn and that now the baby is moving down that I would be safe. Oh well. Just another thing to whinge about!

charlotte121 · 09/05/2008 21:41

Thats one of the joys of being pregnant. being able to moan alot. I've had heartburn the whole way through the pg... was told with ds that it would mean lots of hair... no such luck he was born bald. yours sounds particually nasty tho. sometimes milk can help. i think it nutralises the acid... however in not 100% sure

Congratulations Gingerwench on finishing work. It makes a huge difference.

Yes it's great to moan isn't it charlotte121. I've done loads of it on here.

Presentation scan today and baby is head down (yay) and doing the splits, so may never have been transverse at all! Full speed ahead now for delivery in MW led unit. Am so relieved. Only 2 more days in work and can't wait to finish. Finding it all very difficult now - too hot, too big, can't sleep and swelling increasing daily. Whinge over, otherwise all is well. Newbi scan shows my baby back to back and head well down in pelvis - is that why you are being induced, or have I missed an earlier post? (if you don't mind me asking, that is - feel free not to answer). I've heard back to back can mean a lengthier and more painful labour, but I don't care, as long as I avoid (if poss) a CS. May change my mind on that after delivery. Hope you are all well
