@Superscientist a heartbeat is a good sign. Could you have ovulated a week later than originally thought? I can imagine the next two weeks are going to be hell, hope you've planned some nice festive activities to distract you xx

Same for me! I had three positive (but faint) easy at home tests this morning…I’m not sure when I ovulated because I decided not to test this month (classic!). So I’m worried about line progression, but trying to just take it day by day.

Congratulations to you both btw @Parks17 ❤️

Omg we're identical! This was the one month I didn't test, and two days ago I got faint positives and then got a digital positive yesterday!

Congratulations to you too ❤️

Has anyone experienced any hip pain ? It's started the other day but today it's a lot worse, the pains going down one side of my hip/the side of my bum cheek.

Thetravellover · 20/11/2024 17:04

Hi all
had my first ever positive yesterday!
Think I’m due around end of July
excited but also scared!

Julilie93 · 20/11/2024 17:30

I had my early scan today, following a tiny bit of spotting yesterday (which thankfully completely stopped after 6pm), so I went a bit anxious.
Well everything is going fine, we saw a strong heartbeat and measuring 7+5 (thought I was 8+1 so a little bit behind, but not concerning) . I am so relieved!

Glad everything was OK, I think they say +/- 5 days on the measurements because everything is so small don't they?
Hopefully you're feeling better! ✨️

Pricklypickles · 20/11/2024 17:46

@Cookies123 I have had some hip pain on and off. I've been pretty sedentary recently feeling grotty so think it may be due to that though!

Last pregnancy I had really severe pelvic girdle pain after 23 weeks and I really wanted to try to focus on hip strengthening and stretching this time round...but I've found exercising lately very difficult with being tired and nauseous!

What does help me though are exercises like side lying clams and side lying hip lifts etc, bridges, anything that targets those niggly muscles around the hip region - are you managing any exercise at the moment?

Superscientist · 20/11/2024 19:23

Thanks @CadoAvo and @CatmumTTC

I don't track ovulation so I could have ovulated later. I have a 27 day cycle and tested on day 29 I think and got a clear positive but not a dye stealer. I might have ovulated late or it could have been slow to implant or a bit of both. I guess we'll see what happens in 2 weeks. In my mind it's 50:50. Positive there's a heartbeat but 7-10 days behind is quite a lot. I also know they don't routinely scan early because of the variability. Hopefully just a little bean that took some time to get cooking! Just gotta stay busy!

TTCIrish · 20/11/2024 19:36

Hi all, I am 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant today, Wednesday, due July 14th. On Sunday evening I had a tiny amount of bleeding, on Monday morning I had more bleeding (not enough to fill a pad, enough to cover a handful of toilet paper). Both times it was bright red.

We went to the maternity hospital emergency room and I had an ultrasound that showed a gestational sac in my uterus. They then did an internal vaginal ultrasound and found the gestational sac and an embryo.

The doctor said the heartbeat was "weak and slow" and that combined with the bleeding we should be somewhat prepared for it to potentially be early signs of a pregnancy loss. It's been 60 hours since I last had bleeding and there's no sign of a period starting. I still have swollen tender breasts and I had bad nauseau this morning.

We have a scan booked in for Monday morning and I'm hoping there are some other people who've gone through similar situations who might be able to reassure us somewhat!

Superscientist · 20/11/2024 20:00

@TTCIrish I had a miscarriage in August at 10 weeks and unfortunately for me I had symptoms for about a week after the miscarriage. My HCG was still quite high for a week and took 3 weeks to come down to normal.

It's good that the bleeding hasn't returned. With my miscarriage it went from spotting to having to sit on the toilet it was so heavy in less than 24h. Of the women who have bleeding 1 in 3 miscarry and 2 in 3 don't. I think there's a place for some cautious optimism. Is the scan on Monday at the epu again?

Waiting is horrible. I'm on a 2 week wait to be rescanned at the epu due to measuring behind. I'm upping the self care. Colouring, jigsaws and puzzles are my go toos. Things that keep my hands busy keeps my mind quiet! Wishing you all the best on Monday x

Thanks for the reply ♥️ so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. That must have been so hard.

No the scan on Monday is with the same hospital but not the emergency unit, was already booked in for an early scan at 7 weeks before the bleeding happened to continuing with that scan as is.

Yeah the waiting is soooo hard. Especially because I was given a week off work to rest and I'm finding myself very bored and restless!!

Superscientist · 20/11/2024 20:39

@TTCIrish Would it help to do a bit of work? If I was given a week off work I'd go loopy. I probably couldn't manage full-time but my work is flexible enough that doing a few hours WFH when I need a distraction and I find it beneficial. It's completely on my terms too even if it's just answering a few emails or offering my opinion to colleagues work rather than anything too taxing

If that's not option or wouldn't be right for you maybe a new TV series. I started watching American teen dramas on itv X whilst coming to terms with my miscarriage it was a light distraction. Going back to shows or books I've read/seen before I find helpful when going through things. Knowing the plots and the outcomes is comforting and engaging with them takes less effort. I was in a mother and baby unit after having my daughter and I reread Jacqueline Wilson and harry potter through the library ebook app. There were all I had the headspace for

Yeah I will likely do a small amount of work - I just don't really adore the work I have on at the moment so it's more enticing to binge watch gossip girl! I've also just started reading John Grisham which I'm really enjoying

Thinking of all the ladies waiting and waiting, it's so hard! Getting quite anxious about my first scan tomorrow, will be 7+3. Almost exactly 2 years ago I went along at 7 weeks to find out things weren't right and ultimately had a MMC. Going back to the same place as they have the best equipment but definitely going to find it difficult...

@TrulyMiss Fingers crossed it all goes well for you. I have my follow up epu scan tomorrow after seeing gestational sac and yolk sac but not fetal pole a few weeks ago, I'm 8 weeks today and feeling very anxious too. Hope you get good news x

NamechangeTTC · 21/11/2024 13:40

I’m tentatively joining in. My due date is estimated at 29th July so just sneaking into July.

crampy, sore. 1-2 on clear blue

this is (hopefully) baby 2 after a traumatic first birth and a lot of psyching myself up for round 2!

Nice to meet you all.

HonestPinkTiger · 21/11/2024 13:58

Hi all
Think my hormones have started to cause havoc. Feel awful and anxious at work, can’t seem to make a decision without doubts in my mind. Got home and spent hours crying. Feeling very overwhelmed with the changes on the horizon to my life and career- feel awful even admitting it as don’t want to seem ungrateful. 🥺 is anyone else feeling this level of anxiety?

pigw · 21/11/2024 15:21

@TrulyMiss hope all goes well for you tomorrow

TrulyMiss · 21/11/2024 16:27

Thanks @TTCIrish (I'm also Irish!). @MaSads hoping all goes well for you too. If it's been a few weeks your previous scan would have been quite early? If so, no reason to think it won't be all good tomorrow. Although I appreciate that has no relation to the anxiety levels!!!!

LifeonMarss · 21/11/2024 17:31

Hope everyone who has upcoming appointments hears good news, its such an anxiety inducing time.
Has anyone tried those anti-nausea wrist brands? My nausea has been all day for a few days now and i'm willing to try anything, I was using ginger tea but now makes me gag so that's no use.

Superscientist · 21/11/2024 17:59

@LifeonMarss I would see your Dr about antiemetics to be honest. Sickness sucks

LifesABeachx · 21/11/2024 18:09

LifeonMarss · 20/11/2024 12:35

Has anyone else gone off meat? We had pigs in blankets with dinner last night and I couldn't stomach them, came home early from work and opened the fridge, saw some raw mince and couldn't stop gagging. Even the though of it is making me feel sick. Only thing I can really stomach is apples and brown toast

I was like this my first pregnancy. Couldn't stomach meat at all until after 20+ weeks🤮. Even then it was only McDonald's burgers I could face.
non- meat breakfast items were all I could manage all day.
I hope it doesn't last too long for you!

@TrulyMiss I was 5 weeks 4 days so very early! I think im just in a bit of disbelief, it's been a long time since my first and I had 3 early losses before her so until I see a baby at the moment I'm not convinced! What time is yours tomorrow x

@LifeonMarss I wouldn't waste your money, I bought some and threw them in the bin after being sick whilst wearing them! Definitely speak to the gp for anti sickness meds
