@2doggos yes i had a really painful one! It's calmed down since delivery but I had a c section. I think I may need surgery at some point on it as I've had it for a while but it got worse during pregnancy.

2doggos · 09/10/2024 18:42

@mrssunshinexxx @rachisamumtobe nice to know I'm not the only one! I was in floods of tears early hours this morning as I couldn't get to sleep cos of the itchiness.

I can't wait to have the baby now and hopefully get things sorted 🤞🏼

rachisamumtobe · 09/10/2024 18:52

@2doggos it's awful, makes me so low being in pain with them on top of pelvic girdle pain at 38 + weeks pregnant!

RobynC28 · 09/10/2024 19:29

In my hospital they charged £1k for a private room.
I (stupidly) didn't realise you could discharge yourself. I was in an extra night for no real reason and it was awful - no sleep for any parent in that ward! If i was to do it again I'd push to leave after 1 night.

mylittleitalianhome · 09/10/2024 19:53

Our baby girl arrived this morning after a relatively fast (9 hours) but incredibly painful birth thanks to the unavailability of the anaesthetist and the position of baby. She’s a bruiser too at 9lb 4oz!

WeightoftheWorld · 09/10/2024 21:37

Congrats to all the new babies! I'm so enjoying reading your updates.

Although sorry @mylittleitalianhome to hear that you had such a painful time of it, 😞 my pain wasn't managed well at various points in both my previous labours so very apprehensive about this one from that angle too.

I'm another one who has had/has haemorrhoids. Although I think it may have cleared up now and luckily it's been only internal and pretty mild so not a big issue. I don't think I had them in my other pregnancies, but I developed IBS in this one which is what's set it off. It's been better the last few weeks tho tbh than earlier in the pregnancy.

Can't believe I'm over 38 weeks now and the end is really in sight. Feels very strange when I'm positive this will be my last pregnancy and baby.

rachisamumtobe · 09/10/2024 22:45

@mylittleitalianhome congratulations! I'm so happy to hear your little girl has arrived

rachisamumtobe · 09/10/2024 22:47

@WeightoftheWorld they are so painful aren't they? I'm a fellow IBS sufferer so I have always had them, not nice. I'm 38 weeks too so not long

WeightoftheWorld · 10/10/2024 09:34

I am feeling sorry for myself today. My DD has had a terrible cold virus since Thursday (although finally better and back to school today!) and I finally started to catch it yesterday and feel pretty rough today. Have DS to care for today as well so can't rest too well.

I also had a really weird period of about half an hour this morning with pains which I initially thought definitely wasn't labour related, as it felt completely different from my previous two. However the consultant midwife yesterday told me the labour pains may feel different with a back to back baby and may be more around coccyx area which this was. Luckily it stopped quickly and I know prodromal labour can be stop start for weeks anyway, I just don't want the real thing anytime soon whilst I'm full of cold!

2doggos · 10/10/2024 13:50

@WeightoftheWorld ah sorry you're feeling rubbish! Hope you feel better soon 🤞🏼

I'm waiting for a call from the midwife, im supposed to be having a sweep tomorrow but I'm not hoping much hope that it will happen as she said yesterday that they are short staffed this week so might be a squeeze to fit me in

Sara1988 · 10/10/2024 17:45

Had my baby via c section on Monday. A very healthy, beautiful little girl. After being told labour wouldn't be safe due to her size and gestation, she arrived at 40 weeks at 8lbs 13oz. Having now been through a c section I will avoid at all costs if I have another child.

mrssunshinexxx · 10/10/2024 19:37

They're grim aren't they @Sara1988 due my third next wed but first elective. It's been niggling at me if I should be pushing harder for a vba2c

2doggos · 10/10/2024 19:42

@Sara1988 congratulations!

Kate9423 · 10/10/2024 19:58

Anyone else overdue and fed up? I'm 41wks tomorrow and not even a teeny twinge.

2doggos · 09/10/2024 09:25

@hihihithere congratulations!

@JLT24 @mouldygrapes I'm the same! Also had a few of the 'any signs' messages / comments which I refuse to reply to 😂

TMI ladies but has anyone suffered with piles in pregnancy? I developed a small one a few weeks ago but it wasn't bothering me at all and barely even noticed it but now it's big and really irritating! I've tried all the otc stuff and waiting to hear back from my gp but I'm going insane! I'm not sleeping because of it 😩 also getting worried about giving birth naturally and what state it will be in afterwards!

I am overdue now but really struggled with external and internal haemorrhoids for 6 weeks before breaking down and visiting the dr. They were able to give me sheriproct for internal and external, this helped massively. But the BEST thing I tried was an ice cube wrapped in cloth on the area, worked wonders thank god!

I feel ya! I don't understand how the babe can stay in feeling this heavy, but no sign of budging!

2doggos · 10/10/2024 20:06

@shldv they are horrendous aren't they?! I've been doing the icing as I've found that's the only thing that gives me any relief. I had a good soak in the bath last night and managed to get nearly a full nights sleep which was great after getting 2/3 hours for the past few nights!

I phoned the gp the other day and they only prescribed me some germoloids ointment which does nothing! I'm going to see if I can manage until baby is here and then get them sorted properly 🤞🏼

Kate9423 · 10/10/2024 20:07

@shldv I know! The rolls are ridiculous now and she's so low she's closer to being out than in I think. Madness.

Ignore my other reply baby brain is in full swing tonight. It does feel like you're being stretched to the edge with the rolls and kicks!

mrssunshinexxx · 10/10/2024 20:47

@Kate9423 isit your first ? Go on as longer walk as you manage , kerb walking , up and down the stairs sideways, put on the funniest tv show you enjoy , have sex , passionate snogs, play with your nipples.
X

AspieMumma · 10/10/2024 21:24

I'm 38 weeks and just had a sweep today. Was really hoping it would set me off as that's what did it with my first! But nothing at all so far ! Feel like I jinxed it by getting the In laws in for childcare just in case 🙈

Yep done it all and more. I've had two midwives now say it's all rubbish apart from movement. 🤣

Needadvce · 10/10/2024 21:32

Came by to ask if anyone has experience of being in latent labour for 3 or more days with irregular contractions which became regular and lead to successful active labour later? I am 41+3 weeks and have been in latent labour for 3 days, keeping everything crossed.

mrssunshinexxx · 10/10/2024 21:57

@Kate9423 the only scientifically proven thing to bring on Labour is nipple stimulation. Hopefully baby won't keep you waiting too much longer x
