@Sara1988 section twins! I'm sure all will go well x

Bee49 · 06/10/2024 13:41

@hihihithere I believe it’s just before 37 weeks that they offer steroids? Lots of babies are born with no intervention at 38 weeks and are absolutely fine and fully cooked! I’m sure yours will be absolutely perfect.

hihihithere · 06/10/2024 13:45

@Bee49 yes hopefully all good! I know with c sections before 39 weeks there's more risk of breathing issues as they don't get the mucus squeezed out of the lungs as with a vaginal birth but 38 weeks is pretty far along! I did originally have it booked at 39 weeks but my consultant suggested 38 weeks due to my age (40) and past risk factors. I'm ready too!

Sara1988 · 06/10/2024 14:27

@hihihithere good luck for tomorrow! I haven't been offered steroids or had breathing brought up but I'm 40+1 tomorrow

WeightoftheWorld · 06/10/2024 16:08

Good luck for tomorrow ladies!

RobynC28 · 06/10/2024 17:01

Good luck to all the ladies getting their sections tomorrow! I had mine last week and it was amazing - had such a postive experience- so calm and controlled . Drs were great and my recovery was also really good - I'm basically back to normal . Hoping you all have similar experiences. Let us know how you get on!

hihihithere · 06/10/2024 17:25

Thanks @WeightoftheWorld! Glad your recovery went well @RobynC28. I had one 4 years ago and recovery was ok after a week or so. Possibly a bit slower but I was up and about within a week or so!

mrssunshinexxx · 06/10/2024 19:40

Good luck @Sara1988 totally normal to be feeling what you are as some growth scans can be really really wrong but hopefully they won't be far off in their predictions then you'll absolutely know you did the right thing. Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight. Do you know what time you'll be going down to theatre?

@hihihithere good luck , hope it all goes smoothly .8 wouldn't worry about steroids at this gestation there are some negatives to having them so best baby doesn't and hopefully know issues with breathing x

hihihithere · 06/10/2024 20:09

@mrssunshinexxx thanks. Yes I've heard there may be downsides to them at this gestation anyway so will hope for the best!

2doggos · 06/10/2024 22:11

Good luck to those having their c sections tomorrow! X

LuxeBiscuit · 06/10/2024 23:55

Congratulations @Oct24!

Good luck to all those who have sections booked and due dates this week.

My little man arrived a week early - a bit under 24 hrs from early labour starting to delivery. I'm enjoying the newborn cuddles but just very tired as expected.

rachisamumtobe · 07/10/2024 09:50

@LuxeBiscuit congratulations!!!! 🥳

RobynC28 · 07/10/2024 12:36

@LuxeBiscuit congratulations!

Anyone else fed up of over analysing every pain, movement and discomfort? The waiting for labor to start anxiety has got me good at the moment. Baby has been very active today and I'm 38+ 4 and trying to keep my mind occupied 🤣

hihihithere · 08/10/2024 20:07

Ds2 born via c section yesterday morning. Discharged at midday today! So glad we could leave early. Post natal wards aren't fun!

I’m 38+2 and baby has not stopped moving all day! Usually has 3 distinct quiet periods morning, afternoon and evening for 1-2 hours but not today. I’m sat here over analysing! I feel like he stretches then stays in that position for a few seconds then relaxes. I feel bruised!!

Congratulations! That’s amazing you’re going home already. Got my section next week but should have my own room 🤞

Yep! 38+5 and exactly the same.
booked for induction on Monday unless anything happens before.
Also had a few "any news" messages from (I'm sure well meaning) people which have riled me today

mrssunshinexxx · 08/10/2024 21:06

@JLT24 ooh can I ask how you know you should get your own room? I had my own last 2 times but they were emergencies and that's protocol but I'm thinking I'm gunna have a battle on my hands this time for one but tbh if I don't get one I'm planning to discharge myself as the point of hosp is to get some help from midwives and rest but no chance of that happening on a ward so I'd be better off at home x

I requested it because the ward would make me ill for lots of reasons and they agreed. I’m lucky too as they have lots of side rooms at our hospital.

@JLT24 I'm just going to beg n

Honestly I would it’s worth a shot!!

2doggos · 09/10/2024 09:25

@hihihithere congratulations!

@JLT24 @mouldygrapes I'm the same! Also had a few of the 'any signs' messages / comments which I refuse to reply to 😂

TMI ladies but has anyone suffered with piles in pregnancy? I developed a small one a few weeks ago but it wasn't bothering me at all and barely even noticed it but now it's big and really irritating! I've tried all the otc stuff and waiting to hear back from my gp but I'm going insane! I'm not sleeping because of it 😩 also getting worried about giving birth naturally and what state it will be in afterwards!

rachisamumtobe · 09/10/2024 17:39

@2doggos yes me, it's been the bane of my life! Try a sitz bath but I also have some strong cream from the doctors. Also prune juice x

mrssunshinexxx · 09/10/2024 17:45

@2doggos yes was in a and e 2 weeks ago with them as they were thrombosed - agony! I've been on the list for surgery twice but fallen pregnant both times soon as I stop BF this time I'm having them cut out
