@02tryingfor02 congratulations!!!! Xxxx

WeightoftheWorld · 16/10/2024 12:24

Congrats to the new babies, so nice reading the updates!

I have finally had my RSV vaccine today. Had a lot of messing about by both the hospital and GP practice hence it being so late which is v annoying and I know it won't adequately protect baby now. However at least I won't get it and pass it on to them and hopefully my breast milk will have the antibodies too? I have had a really big bloody show this morning as well so things are definitely progressing slowly. I'm quite confident that I won't need my induction at least. Trying to rest but still recovering from my terrible cold virus and so is DH. I've also been sleeping terribly the last few nights because of the illness too which is typical timing. Hoping baby will stay put until early next week tbh but may not be that lucky now.

2doggos · 16/10/2024 12:38

@WeightoftheWorld I'm gutted cos I've not been able to have the vaccine. It was supposed to be arranged by my doctors but they have started the roll out yet. I asked around at a few chemists near me but no luck and my midwife said there will be no point now ☹️

I'm still waiting for my babe to make an appearance. I had my second sweep yesterday and midwife said there was a bloody show on the gloves. Had some pains / tightenings last night but all quiet today

mrssunshinexxx · 17/10/2024 05:51

Baby Rocky born via section yesterday can't say I enjoyed it and didn't react well to anaesthetic very drowsy and sick all day but he's perfect and feeding like a trooper

WeightoftheWorld · 17/10/2024 09:01

Congrats @mrssunshinexxx and hope you're recovering as well as possible.

My little one, a boy, was born in the early hours - unexpectedly at home, delivered by my DH! We are in the hospital now. I'm already desperate to get home asap but so far have had no luck with breastfeeding as he's just so incredibly sleepy so far. Meanwhile I haven't slept all night and am absolutely exhausted!

2doggos · 17/10/2024 09:13

Congratulations @mrssunshinexxx !!!

Omg @WeightoftheWorld how amazing!! Congratulations! Hope you get home soon x

Mitsky · 17/10/2024 15:02

Congratulations new babies!

I’m a week and a day away from a planned c section as baby is still firmly breech. Our house is an absolute state with boxes everywhere and also trying to finish some decorating while feeling knackered and bump is very tight and painful frequently.

rachisamumtobe · 17/10/2024 16:24

@mrssunshinexxx congratulations 🥳 xxxx

rachisamumtobe · 17/10/2024 16:25

@WeightoftheWorld oh my goodness! What a turn up for events well done DH! Hope you're ok, congratulations!!! X

rachisamumtobe · 17/10/2024 16:25

@Mitsky well I've been scanned today and my boy is firmly extended breech so all systems go for my planned c section tomorrow, pre op done this morning, feeling nervous but excited!

Sara1988 · 17/10/2024 18:18

Anyone else's baby cluster feeding?

02tryingfor02 · 17/10/2024 18:47

@Sara1988 yes! I feel like I've had about 30mins sleep in two days. How are you getting on. My milk finally came in today so it's definitely helped. Baby seems more satisfied after feeds

LuxeBiscuit · 18/10/2024 10:18

@Sara1988 my baby cluster fed around day 2 during the night to get my milk to come in. It may be that for you?

LuxeBiscuit · 18/10/2024 10:19

@rachisamumtobe all the best for today!

CluelessInLondon · 18/10/2024 16:35

@02tryingfor02 @mrssunshinexxx @WeightoftheWorld Congratulations to all of you on the arrival of your little ones! ❤️

@rachisamumtobe Hope all went well today and you are snuggling your new baby right now!

@Sara1988 Mine likes to cluster feed late at night - she tends to need a few feeds quite close together before she'll settle down for the night, whereas during the day she'll quite happily go a couple of hours between feeds. I've just started expressing milk so that my husband can help with some of the late night feeding, and to try and increase my supply.

So lovely to see all of the new arrivals. Congratulations.

Our beautiful girl arrived early on the 13th at 40+4. My waters broke the evening before so had to go to hospital for monitoring and that spiralled into a bit of a scary c section, but all home now and she's a little dream come true. Turned up at 9lb 1oz (with very long legs) after being told in all of the scans that she was 99th centile definitely 10lb+.

Breastfeeding has been a bit tricky, but feel like we are on the way to getting the latches on both sides right. Have been watching Lucy Webber videos on YouTube which I've found really useful. Worst thing so far has been gas from the c section. Anyone else has that and found any solutions? Have had shoulder pain from trapped gas and still feeling totally full of air, especially at night. Finding comfortable sleep still seems impossible. My midwife said days 4-9 are the real pit in terms of difficulty and after that things should get easier so counting down! Hang in there everyone down there with me...we got this.

Congratulations to all the mama and welcome to all the new babies!

We had little man weighed yesterday. 30gm over his birth weight now. Milk goes in, poop comes out, weight goes on. Everything is working as it should. He has terrible baby acne though. Been putting breast milk on it but it looks so sore and red.

Is anyone else dealing with day and night confusion? I honestly thought I was going to divorce my husband last night. We've been tag teaming the nights so we each can get some sleep. Last night little man just wouldn't settle with me. Crying, jail breaking his swaddle, wanting nothing but my boob. Husband had done his nappy and he had wet through everything. And then Husband then had to audacity to sleep through the whole shitshow (which was the plan but I felt so abandoned.) I need this baby to sleep less and eat more in the day. It's killing me!!

rachisamumtobe · 19/10/2024 07:32

@CluelessInLondon thank you! Baby boy born safely at 09.31am Friday 18th October weighing 7 pounds 12! He's got lots of lovely black hair and we are absolutely smitten!

CluelessInLondon · 19/10/2024 09:41

@SuenoNB Congratulations on the arrival of your baby girl - sorry to hear it was a scary experience but glad that she is here safely. The ladies in my antenatal group who had sections all swear by peppermint tea to help with trapped wind.

@rachisamumtobe Wonderful news, congratulations! ❤️

My little boy arrived on the 17th weighing 8lb5oz. His big brother is so excited and absolutely besotted with him. I'm struggling with feeding, most the time he's not interested and just sleeps then when he trys he's struggling to latch 😟

I feel this! We have an agreement where my husband stays up late with the baby and then does any night wakings/mornings with our toddler, but i still feel totally abandoned when he sleeps right through all the wailing from the baby at 3am (totally unreasonable on my part, I know). With my first, I found that getting out of the house everyday with the baby helped with the night time sleep.

mrssunshinexxx · 19/10/2024 14:21

@mylittleitalianhome can you strip him off I the day get him nice and awake and stuff him with milk then hopefully he would sleep longer overnight. Cluster feeding into the evening very normal at this stage though x

Oct24 · 19/10/2024 14:33

@mylittleitalianhome It's so rough. I'm not someone who functions well on limited sleep.

How is your toddler dealing with the new baby? My 3yr old is constantly right in the baby's face. Every second he gets, he's right there all up in his business. Poor baba can't even feed without his big brother prodding, poking and 'kissing' him.

AspieMumma · 19/10/2024 16:07

@Oct24 my 3yo is the same , he will not leave the baby alone

Bee49 · 19/10/2024 16:14

@SuenoNB peppermint helps with trapped gas! Mint tea, mints, chewing gum and also peppermint capsules.

@Oct24 some people say only letting them sleep max 2hrs at a time during the day and then waking for a feed can help them establish day/ night.
