Wanted to start this thread for those of you who have also just found out :) I found the thread when I was pregnant with my son super helpful!

@MummyMammoth the only time I'm nauseous is when I'm hungry. I wake up the morning like I've not eaten anything for a week 😅

Oh I’m nauseous all the time but when I’m hungry it’s 5mile an hour to a thousand straight away!!!

MummyMammoth · 27/10/2024 14:48

Was even awake from 0300-0500am this morning feeling sick… horrendous!!

upat4am · 27/10/2024 19:05

How is everyone doing with cramping?

I remember having it with DD and being relatively relaxed as a I knew it was normal, but have since had a miscarriage at 6 weeks which started with cramps so feeling much less relaxed about it this time

I've just hit the 6 week mark and really started to have cramps the last few days. Trying to stay calm but feeling so worried.

I am also having cramps today at 5+6. I can't remember having these with my first but it's been difficult not to worry. Fingers crossed it's just some normal adjustment pains. Your not alone in how you feel atm @upat4am

upat4am · 27/10/2024 20:34

@SparklyCyanNewt it's horrible isn't it? Such a nerve wracking time when it should be a happy one.

This is an IVF pregnancy, so we have a 7 week scan on Friday. Hopefully that will put my mind at ease a bit it we can see a heartbeat.

It’s horrible isn’t it. Never sure whether it’s gas or uterus cramp!! The progesterone doesn’t help!

Deep breaths and taking it one day at a time 🙏🏻

And every time I cough it’s like a sharp pain in my uterus! Elastic band like! Remember those…

Morning ladies! How long did it take for the midwife to get back to you to schedule your initial booking appointment? I called at 6w last Friday and now I am 7+3 but still haven't heard anything. If I don't hear anything this week do you think I should call again? I'm also based in Scotland so not sure if it's a longer wait up here.
Also to anyone being sick, I have just discovered dry cheerios stop me from throwing up! First time I haven't been sick in the morning in a week and a half 😅

Hi! I'm based in Scotland, too. I phoned a number which is based at the hospital when I was around 5 weeks. They booked me in there and then for my first midwife appointment and also first scan. Is it not the same process where you are? :)

Ahh ok! For me mine is NHS Lanarkshire and you have to call the central number. They take your details and submit the form to the hospital you pick and said a midwife would be in touch. I looked and it seems different boards have different rules, like for GGC It’s self referral to the midwifery unit via a form online. When is your booking appointment?

iridescentbloom · 28/10/2024 13:19

Hi ladies, I've just had my booking appointment come through for when I'm 11 weeks and feeling really disheartened. I'm 8+4 now and really been struggling over the last couple of weeks with anxiety.

They'll only book my 12 week scan at the booking appointment so the scan feels even further away. I have rang up to see if they can bring my appointment forward and I'm waiting for a call back, but not holding out much hope. Has anyone else had their booking appt through for 11 weeks+?

npdw · 28/10/2024 13:41

@LacedBouquet ah I see, I'm NHS Lothian, strange how it's all different though, isn't it! My booking appointment is tomorrow when I'm exactly 8 weeks (according to NHS, but I'm actually around about 9ish weeks as confirmed by private scan and just how my dates work out) :)

JustMintKoala · 28/10/2024 14:01

@iridescentbloom sorry you are feeling so anxious! :-(
I’m in NI and here we have our booking appointment and first scan at the same appointment. Usually around 12 weeks but often a little later due to waiting times, in my previous pregnancy it was 14 weeks before I had my appointment. I booked a private scan at 10 weeks as I felt it was very long to wait.
This time, I have booked a 7 week early reassurance scan. Would a private scan be an option for you? I appreciate they are expensive and not accessible to everyone

iridescentbloom · 28/10/2024 14:16

@JustMintKoala I actually do have a private scan booked for tomorrow! Which I am nervously excited for 🤩 I would just like to be able to speak to my midwife about my anxiety and see if there's any support available and I feel like I just keep getting fobbed off over the phone.

LS888 · 28/10/2024 14:17

My booking appointment will be when I’m exactly 8 weeks. 8+5 based on LMP but I ovulate on day 20/21 so know I will be a few days out. I think we also book the scan at the booking appointment here. I’m scared to book an early scan as had so many scans with my last pregnancy and had a mmc. So trying to hold out as long as possible.

AmberM223 · 28/10/2024 14:56

@SparklyCyanNewt 6w today too and been having cramps for about 2 weeks on and off now! some days much worse than others and a lot of it in my lower back! Also didn’t have this with my first so i have been worried x

WillsyH · 28/10/2024 16:24

I took a test this morning and I’m not sure if it’s an evap line or a faint line. The line is a very light purple up close. It came up in 3 mins of me doing the test.

not sure what to make of it

CAM8891 · 28/10/2024 16:44

@iridescentbloom nobody talks about first trimester anxiety as much as they should, you're not alone. It's a horrible time because pretty much no one knows you're pregnant and you're just dealing with all these raging hormones and intrusive thoughts by yourself.

Hopefully your scan tomorrow will be able to put your mind at ease a little, let us know how you get on! X

Hi all, please can I join?

Im 40, ttc for 2 years, and yesterday got a positive pregnancy test! I am officially 6 weeks today, although I ovulate often quite late, around day 22, so think conception could be a bit later than the standard?

I did do a clear blue today which indicated 3+ weeks today which was reassuring.

i am probably going to do a scan next week - what are peoples thoughts on this??

I have been having regular cramps, today has been the worst. Trying not to overthink, they aren’t super painful but feels uncomfy to stretch my body out, is that normal??

very little to no nausea, which is worrying… and slightly sore boobs, maybe a little tired but nothing terrible so far. trying to take this as a positive!

due date 23 June (although could this be later if the ovulation was late)?

am still kind of in disbelief. My partners face was so sweet when we found out. I really want this to work but am a natural worried and worry with my age that I will miscarry.

looking forward to getting to know you all!!

Lucy xx

Hi, huge congrats to you all. I can't comment on much of what you've said as I haven't really had the same symptoms as you in either of my pregnancies (pregnant with baby no 2), but I never experienced nausea or sickness in either of my pregnancies so please don't worry about that part :)

ThisElatedMintDreamer · 28/10/2024 17:30

I’ve just received a call for the midwife and having my booking appointment next week Thursday which will make me 7 weeks. They’re also going to book me in for a scan for the following week with me having the ectopic in June. Very happy as I was going to book a private scan once I was 8 weeks to make sure all was okay so saves me money!
Is anybody else still testing? I’ve been doing tests every few days to make sure the line is getting darker/showing quicker and today I had a dye stealer! I done two just to check and both were dye stealers. I know there’s a lot of uncertainty around dye stealers but atm I’ll take anything to keep my mind at ease.
Hope everything is going well with everyone else xx
