Wanted to start this thread for those of you who have also just found out :) I found the thread when I was pregnant with my son super helpful!

@deleteitforpro59 i had spotting for 6 days last week alongside cramps, then on the 7th day suddenly stopped. I’m 6W on monday but i ovulate quite late so i think i’ll be behind that. Try not to panic, i know that’s easier said than done x

AmberM223 · 26/10/2024 08:52

@MummyMammoth wow just read your twins update!! amazing news congratulations! Fingers crossed for you, bet you are super happy x

deleteitforpro59 · 26/10/2024 09:20

@AmberM223 thank you for that Amber.

I called the 111 and they have someone calling me back. I'm home alone today with my 2 DDs so even if I do get to go and get checked out it will be hard.

I'm not clotting yet , but the bleeding is definitely heavier than spotting.

deleteitforpro59 · 26/10/2024 09:21

@Bb542 ah thank you. Fingers very tightly crossed

5 weeks 5 days and started bleeding last night.

Google says bleeding may be okay but I can't sleep as worried for the worst. Anyone else "spotting"?

Scared to get up and check how much blood I'm losing Sad

Hello, sorry to hear this. I hope you’re OK?

Are you going to your EPU today?

❤️

Anyone else taking Pregnacare max? I think it’s making my nausea worse!

anyone heard of this before??

LS888 · 26/10/2024 11:41

@MummyMammoth they made me feel more nauseous with my last pregnancy so not taking them this time. They would also repeat on me all day! This time I’m just taking a multivitamin, vitamin D and folic acid. And also DHA.

How bizarre that they do that!!

what is DHA?

Good morning ladies ,

Just a quick question , i went for an early scan yesterday. The lady who scanned me said i was 6 weeks (i thought i was 7weeks)Could see the fetal pole , yolk sac , but no heartbeat . But she said this normal ? Should i be worried . She recommended a rescan in two weeks . Just some background info , i was recently diagnosed with pcos and dont know exactly when my LMP was .

Hello, @Worriedmumtobe123 welcome.

The sonographer will know the crown to rump measurements of the foetal pole and be able to tell whether it’s inside the limit of weeks/size to see a heartbeat. Try and trust what you have been told. It’s hard, I’m in a similar situation and returning in 2 weeks to check for heartbeat (in twin baby).

We have the same dates!

Its a horrible long wait but I wish you all the best ❤️

Sobersally · 26/10/2024 12:33

@Worriedmumtobe123 i went for an early scan yesterday at 6 weeks but she said im measuring between 4-5 weeks and couldn’t see a foetal pole so to go back in 2 weeks. I’m pretty confident on my dates +/- a couple of days as I was tracking ovulation. I had the same in my prev pregnancy and when I went back 2 weeks later there was a healthy heartbeat and a clear little baby in there so they readjusted my dates back to what I had originally thought! I think it’s just so hard to always see something when it’s so early so try not to worry ❤️ good thing is everything is developing as they would expect and is in the right place, if they were concerned they would tell you xx

custardcreamsies · 26/10/2024 12:35

@MummyMammoth congratulations on your twins, how exciting!.

@deleteitforpro59 I hope you’re okay and have managed to get a call back from 111❤️.

thank you for the advice about telling work ladies, I’m going to see how I go but if I’m still this tired then I’ll tell them just to see if any adjustments can be made.

Sobersally · 26/10/2024 12:36

Also to those who are having a bit of doubt with the pregnancy I totally get it! We are in a bit of financial trouble at the moment and whilst I know it will all work out and this is what we wanted we have both said it’s not the best timing in terms of our money situation.. got a few months to get sorted though I guess xxx

Worriedmumtobe123 · 26/10/2024 12:40

@MummyMammoth

Thank you for your reassurance , I hope everything goes well for you in your next scan xx

Worriedmumtobe123 · 26/10/2024 12:42

@Sobersally

Thank you for your reassurance. I think I just worked myself up alot . Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy xx

LS888 · 26/10/2024 14:09

@MummyMammoth I copied this from the website I got them from (Zita West) ‘DHA contains Omega 3 essential fatty acids (EFAs), plus a small amount of Zinc. It has been designed to help protect both partners’ DNA from oxidative damage during preconception as well as to support normal fertility and healthy sperm production. Vital DHA also plays a critical role in the development of a baby’s brain during pregnancy and early infancy, so is recommended to take during pregnancy and breastfeeding.’

I think last time I took the pregnacare it came with fish oil capsules. But when I stopped taking them I didn’t continue with the DHA. I’m an older mum (38) so tried to boost my supplements to help. Read a book and it suggested DHA.

deleteitforpro59 · 26/10/2024 14:11

Still waiting for my call back after ringing 111 at 9 this morning

I think I have completed google for bleeding at 6 weeks.

No clots. Isn't painful. But is is a heavy period.

Expecting the worst and wishing for the best!!!!!!!

Sat in between my two DDs watching Annie and trying to feel grateful for what I already have..

LS888 · 26/10/2024 15:05

@deleteitforpro59 thinking of you. So sorry you have so much uncertainty. Keep us updated xx

JustMintKoala · 26/10/2024 19:02

@deleteitforpro59 with my previous pregnancy I had heavy bleeding with clots at 5+3 for around 12 hours and then it eased up. I had some right sided pain and was under a fertility clinic so they brought me in for a scan to double check it wasn’t ectopic and everything was fine. I had no bleeding after that and went on to have a healthy pregnancy! Bleeding can be so common in the early weeks. Hope you have heard back from 111! EPU probably isn’t open until Monday as well :-(

deleteitforpro59 · 26/10/2024 19:17

Thank you

They called me at 530 and told me to call EPU at my hospital or go to A&E. It said it was closed online but I called and got through to somewhere... a midwife spoke to me and said they have put a note for EPU to call me Monday when they open.

I'm waiting until Monday rather than going to A&E as I'm home alone with my two young DDs.

I had a bath and there were clots.

I did feel the same tummy movements in the bath that I have felt ever since 3 weeks pregnant.

But I know this is just air/gas. I didn't ever have this before pregnancy but I know pregnancy gives you more air/gas.

Thank you for everyone's positive stories. I'm not hopeful but praying for a miracle

Hello everyone,

I'm new to Mumsnet, just turned 40 and 8+3 with my first baby (second pregnancy). I'm so anxious because it's early days and I'm worried this could well be my last roll of the dice. I'm nauseous all the time, though haven't actually been sick yet, and the tiredness is unlike anything I've ever experienced. My boobs are sore and my moods are all over the place. Only 7 months to go. Yikes Shock xx
PS I regret this now but I left it so long to become a Mam because I prioritised my career. When I finally got my dream job as an academic, aged 33, my partner of 9 years died suddenly 3 months later, just after we finally started trying for a baby. It took me years to find a man I wanted to be with for life (and I went on over 100 first dates and even moved in with one for 18 months - it's a jungle out there!). However, everything is in place now and we got married in July 24. I just hope this baby clings on as it took us 16 months to conceive again after our miscarriage in May 23. Fingers crossed Smile

Congratulations!, your symptoms sound really positive. Have you/are you able to book in an early scan to ease your worries?

DrWatson84 · 27/10/2024 13:13

Hi,
Yes I've booked a scan for 1st Nov and I'm seeing the midwife for my booking in appointment on Weds 😊 Exciting times x

MummyMammoth · 27/10/2024 14:44

Anyone finding when they get even the slightest bit hungry their sickness/nausea increases drastically??

CAM8891 · 27/10/2024 14:46

@MummyMammoth the only time I'm nauseous is when I'm hungry. I wake up the morning like I've not eaten anything for a week 😅
