I have found out VERY early that I am pregnant and due early June (I am only 10dpo today) and found out yesterday I am pregnant (22 Sept)

Wanted to start this thread for those of you who have also just found out :) I found the thread when I was pregnant with my son super helpful!

I'm Lexie, 32, have a 14 month old son so am just squeezing in 2 under 2 :)

Welcome @mumofone1111 - is this baby 3 for you too?

I don’t think there is much point reading into symptoms as it seems to be so variable between women and between pregnancies. I’ve actually been feeling a bit better today and started to worry but now just taking a break from the nausea where I can!

@LJ08 ive definitely put on weight already - eating carbs is the only thing that keeps the nausea at bay for me. I know from my previous pregnancies that I can eat normally again in the second and third trimesters so I’m just doing what I need to get by. I think 8 weeks is a good time for an early scan. I had one at 6+2 and will have a follow up at 8+3.

LJ08 · 22/10/2024 13:06

@codemytea my apps say 3-5 June as a due date! I'm fairly confident in our conception dates 🤞 how are you doing, generally speaking?

@Bewildened hopefully the nausea / sickness starts to wear off soon. Thanks, we've been going back and forth on whether or not to have an early scan. Other half is ready to tell people now (small family on both sides!) but I'm still not 100%. Maybe a scan might make me feel a bit better!

Also I just realised you've already had a very early scan this time, I hope all is well ♥️

Bleeding so guess I’m out :-(

Hi again everyone! How are we all doing? I think I'm 8 weeks today, and feeling absolutely rotten 😅 the last week and a half has just been constant nausea, with the odd day of being sick too. Funny how we forget all this fun stuff isn't it?!

Firstly, what's opinions on having an early scan this week? I haven't even had my booking appointment through yet, so just feeling a bit like it's not quite real yet... Secondly, is anyone else feeling a bit fat and frumpy? My lower tummy is noticeably bigger, but not rounded just squishy 😂 I'm feeling very grateful it's autumn and I can hide away in nice big jumpers!

Hey, congrats!

I'm roughly nearly 8 weeks, too. Well 7+0 according to NHS, but 7+6 according to a private scan we had at the weekend. I'd say go for it, we had one on Sunday and although you can't see much we did see the baby there and also saw the heartbeat which was really reassuring :)

Sobersally · 22/10/2024 13:39

@MummyMammoth really hoping things turn out ok 💔🤞🏻🤞🏻

Sobersally · 22/10/2024 13:42

Has anyone had experience of receiving/sharing pregnancy news with a friend who is struggling with repeated failed IVF? My best friend has just had her third and potentially final round of IVF which has not been successful, this is my 3rd baby which I have conceived naturally, I don’t know how to share the news with her when it comes round to it.. im very early still but so conscious and worried about her emotions when I do tell her or the best way to do it 💔

Hope all works out fine 🤞🏻😢

Stef92 · 22/10/2024 13:44

@Sobersally not the same as didn't involve ivf but my friend miscarried around the same time I found out I was pregnant with my first. When I was ready to tell people it was her wedding anniversary so I delayed telling her and then spoke to her separately before telling the rest of my friends, it was lockdown so couldn't do any of this in person. She appreciated me speaking to her separately. She found she was expecting again a few weeks before my first was born

YorkshirePeridot · 22/10/2024 13:45

Thank you to for the reassuring messages yesterday.

I ended up calling the gp who advised me to go straight to A&E who would refer me straight to EPU. Ended up being scanned by EPU today and they could see the pregnancy sac and the yolk sac but no baby yet. Because of my dates (I'm exactly 6 weeks today but ovulate late so likely to measure closer to 5) that's pretty much what they would expect to see and there's currently no cause for alarm. I'm rebooked in for two weeks time when hopefully there will be more to see 🤞

Anyone else that is bleeding please don't hesitate to get in contact with your gp or EPU. They will take you completely seriously and I've found the experience strangely reassuring given that I'm not out of the woods yet.

Now to work out what to tell work 🤔 I'm a teacher so the fact that I essentially ran out of school in tears at 11.30 yesterday is not something I can brush off (no kids spotted me, just staff)

Thanks, 11th pregnancy with one live baby… have a scan at the EPU thurs… not holding much hope

Bewildened · 22/10/2024 13:57

@Sobersally I had recurrent mcs so have been on the other side of this. 100% tell her by text so that there is no pressure on her to respond or look happy or hide her feelings. Let her process it in her own time. Definitely don’t send a scan picture!

I think also assuming that she’s going to be upset by it can also be more upsetting/offensive, so just keep it factual. I’d just say “I wanted to let you know I’m pregnant, due in June. Hope you’re well, looking forward to seeing you at x/we should catch up soon”.

Sobersally · 22/10/2024 14:43

@Bewildened that makes sense thank you, I think when it comes round to telling people I’ll send her a message and keep it simple so she can process it herself without having to react face to face - defo won’t send a scan pic! It’s still early days for me so will give it some time yet x

Great you got seen! Hoping all goes well with you now in two weeks 🙏 i work in a school aswell, it can be very hard! Happened me with my losses before, both started at work and I left in a flurry of tears but my principal is very supportive so it was fine.

Iv had some grey brown discharge today but was after putting in my progesterone so wondering if it's just from that. Next week for scan feels so long away and I'm just terrified of going in and heartbeat is no longer there

mumofone1111 · 22/10/2024 16:09

@Stef92 ahh. This is nearly 2 weeks now 🙈

@LJ08 no we had them previously before 7 weeks and saw a heartbeat. Depends what you want to see :) and yes I'm so bloated it's ridiculous

@Bewildened yes it will be :) a total surprise but happy (if a little shocked still )

@MummyMammoth I'm so sorry. I hope it's more implantation for you

@YorkshirePeridotglad everything looks ok! I'm not sure what you could say. Could either be honest (can't penalise you for pregnancy related stuff) or maybe if you don't want to say you received some sad news (family) but don't wish to talk about it ?

Thanks but way too late for implantation. ❤️

mumofone1111 · 22/10/2024 16:47

@MummyMammoth implantation is commonly referred to as that early period but can get it for weeks while still moving/implanting fully. Totally understand it might not be but some do bleed and all is ok ❤️

It’s my 11th pregnancy and I have 1 living daughter, but thanks for trying to reassure me.

Bewildened · 22/10/2024 16:56

@MummyMammoth Ive had loads of miscarriages too and I know the false hope is the absolute worst. You will know yourself and your body and how best to protect yourself mentally.

I will say though that with DC2 I had a massive red bleed at 9 weeks when I went to the loo - literally filled the toilet with blood. I then had 2 days of awful cramps while I waited for a private scan (NHS refused to scan me because it was in April 2020 so height of covid). Because of my earlier mcs I had totally resigned myself to another loss.

Anyway it turned out all was fine. Nothing could be seen on the scan and dr thought it must have been a clot that had just bled out. DC2 was flipping around in there and was born the picture of health (9lbs!) at 40 weeks. So you really never know.

Wishing you all the best.

What a beautiful story, congrats on your son ❤️

it’s difficult to remain positive, the past informs the present. Using the progesterone and clexane just makes me feel more crappy with the nausea and all that. I’ve never had a healthy pregnancy, I was really unwell with my daughter with pre eclampsia but I didn’t bleed early on. Luckily she has no health issues despite her early arrival.

Feel rather miserable after today. But thanks for the sneaky rays of hope.

Hi! This is my first pregnancy and I am due on 11th June, I am scared and feeling guilty about feeling that way, and I have been struggling with nausea and an upset tummy for the last week or so. I am looking for others going through similar things to connect with ❤️

It’s so hard in the early weeks when nobody knows. But if you have someone you can trust I would be open to telling them as having someone to talk to about it makes it all so much easier. I’ve told my parents and the mums in my August baby group know. Before I had my mmc in July I had told my NCT group too as we had gone out for a boozy brunch and there was no way getting a soft drink because I was driving was going to cut it!! They were all really supportive and then when I had the mmc they were a great support too. It’s so good to have virtual support on here too. Always hear to listen!

@MummyMammoth I've had a rough few hours and not sure if I'm adding my annoyed emotion to your reply but hoping I didn't offend you. Didn't want to raise false hope or anything like that and do believe you know your own body best and will draw from your own experiences as well as those experiences maybe causing you to protect yourself by not allowing hope until you know for sure either way which I totally understand. I understand as I've had 12 losses and have 2 children, and now this pregnancy. I do know people in real life though who have bled throughout/had a heamatoma/implantation etc has affected later too so while it may not be your story it certainly can be true. I hope you're ok ❤️

@Emzlily I've had an upset tummy for nearly 2 weeks and am 5.5 weeks. Only odd bouts of nausea so far but in previous it has kicked in more for me around 6-7 so trying to enjoy the less nauseous time (mine is usually pretty bad but time will tell with this one)

No, that’s no problem, I know it came from a good place but I do know my own body. It’s nice to have hope but you’ll know it’s hard to imagine hope let alone have it in a place with so much loss.

Hope you’re OK x

Hello everyone! I’ve just finished reading the whole thread x so sorry for your losses @MummyMammoth and @mumofone1111 😔 I’ve had a couple of miscarriages and can’t imagine the pain you've been through ♥️

hope you’re looking after yourself and taking the time you need @MummyMammoth, sending hugs xxx
