I have just found out I am expecting baby number 2 and my due date is 1st May.

Has anyone else found out they are expecting and looking for some company?

I am signed off at the minute due to my bleeding but I really want to go back but if I can’t function I will get signed off just want to try some anti-sickness. I had them up to 20 weeks last time after that I was fine. Also I have to get through my scan on Thursday I’m hoping that the increase in symptoms is a good sign but I know that can happen anyway.

I got my prescription exemption at my booking appointment (which was at 7 weeks this time, super early!).

I called the GP today and she's prescribed Xonvea which apparently can be quite effective for sickness and nausea. Mine continues to ramp up and I've had pretty debilitating nausea all day with regular vomiting. I'm working from home (only work 3 days a week) but it's really hard to concentrate. My GP has suggested telling my manager but he is quite anti-pregnancy (doesn't like kids) so I don't think I'll get much understanding out of him.

It's so different to my last pregnancy which was morning nausea! I've been sick more today than I was in that entire pregnancy.

Speaking of DD, feeling like this while looking after a 16 month old is pretty draining! Thank goodness she's an absolute angel ❤️

@BrightGoose You can't get free prescriptions until you have the Matb1 form. You might be able to claim the cost back after you get it.

@Monday55 Buccal prochlorperazine is available OTC but a pharmacist won't sell it to you when they know it's for a pregnant person. Have you asked your GP? What did they say?

I haven't spoken to the GP yet, wanted to first see if I could go direct to a pharmacist, I guess not 😩

I have my first scan on Thursday. My symptoms have kicked in now but still mild. I am still feeling a bit anxious about it all, not knowing what’s going on, but I did a test this morning and got a proper dye stealer. Anyone else crazy like me and still testing?!

I’ve stopped testing but I still feel a bit… under-confident in my pregnancy status just because this one feels so different to my first pregnancy? Has your spotting stopped? I think everything seems right on track for you - symptoms kicking in at the most common time (between 4-7 weeks according to the nhs website) and your tests are really strong. I think you’ll get very reassuring news at your scan tomorrow - keep up updated!

My symptoms are really up and down, could barely function yesterday with headaches and nausea and extreme tiredness but feeling much better today. I did a very unhinged Greggs order yesterday and scoffed two chicken bakes and a sausage roll while in the foetal position on the sofa. Definitely a low point for me. I also have on and off blurry vision in my left eye - optometrist says it’s a pregnancy thing, it is soooo weird.

Beccaa123 · 09/10/2024 08:35

I had some pink in my discharge on Sunday & had a scan on Monday because of it. Baby had a strong heartbeat and was only measuring 2 days behind where I thought I was so it was 7+3 instead of 7+5.
I'm glad the scan went well but today I've had the pink colour back, when I say pink, it's almost peachy and I just can't help but worry something is going wrong.

rosecbrm · 09/10/2024 10:01

My scan went really well this morning, I'm even measuring 4 days ahead of my last scan at 9w3d! Such a relief.

They offered me another scan before my 12 week scan (less than 3 weeks) and I've said no for now which I don't know if that's silly or not?

They said I can ring anytime if I change my mind but the anxiety I feel before a scan is a lot! I just want to try and enjoy as much as I can.. don't know if I'm being silly as a lot of people would love to have as many scans as possible!

BrightGoose · 09/10/2024 11:13

Glad your scans went well. I have been to the doctors today for antiemetics, I was given ondansetron as that’s what worked well last time. Also I got some omeprazole and peptac as I have already had horrific acid (due to a medical condition).
I was very sick today again I really hope it stops now

rosecbrm · 09/10/2024 11:41

Hope it eases for you @BrightGoose 🙂

Hello ladies, just checking in. I think I'm around 6+6 today and feeling crappy up until about lunchtime.

Iv taken leave this week and I had so many plans to get bits done about the house but iv not managed to do anything. Just feel so drained and sick.

I hate this part of pregnancy and it completely drags!

Yeah definitely, I’d say around 6.5/7 weeks it kicked in, definitely feeling waves of nausea at points throughout the day but it’s still manageable. Luckily this time I don’t yet have food aversions which was horrible last time. Also I’m tired but not bone crushingly tired which is nice. This was my test yesterday, I’d bought 2 as they were on offer but don’t think I’ll bother doing the other one.

I'm just over 10 weeks now and I've only suffered with nausea, however the last few days I've really struggled keeping anything down😫But I did receive my letter yesterday for my 12 week scan, its on 23rd October so only 2 weeks away

BoldLemur · 10/10/2024 19:02

Just want to send lods of love to all of you on here who are pregnant after a miscarriage. I had a missed miscarriage back in February and I'm finding this pregnancy so hard so far X x x x

california22 · 10/10/2024 21:56

Hi everyone
I had my first scan today as I am on treatment for previous misc (have a DD after a successful peegnancy on treatment). Two days ahead at 7+3 and strong heartbeat. We are so happy but still cautious, fingers crossed it continues like this, next one in two weeks. I also came down with covid and feeling dreadful but thankfully haven't had any high fevers, take care everyone!

Blossomofhope · 11/10/2024 09:10

@BoldLemur Im the same is you. Miscarriage start of the year and now I’m at 8 weeks but I’m so conditioned to think things go wrong, I just can’t relax and I know I need to. I hope I can get to a stage where I’m just excited and enjoying it all. I am so grateful.

@california22 congrats. Look after yourself.

It’s so hard isn’t it. I have my 12 week scan on Monday. I haven’t had one at all yet this pregnancy. I haven’t even thought that everything might be fine at the scan. All I can think is the worst. Keep thinking it’s better to be happily surprised than the other way round.

I had a missed miscarriage in February too (and another loss shortly after) and this pregnancy is the most anxiety inducing thing I've ever gone through!

We've had a few scans at the hospital due to bleeding and so far baby looks healthy and we've just gotten further than we ever have so I'm trying to celebrate that milestone!

I don't trust my body at all anymore though which is so challenging, but I'm trying really hard to just take it day by day (easier said than done!) if anyone does have tips of how to get past this anxiety I would be so grateful!

I’ll be leaving the group, wish you all the very best with your pregnancies.

my baby stopped growing after my scan last week, there was no heartbeat today.

BrightGoose · 11/10/2024 17:12

@Tigerlilli aw I’m so sorry especially after you saw a heartbeat please take care

BoldLemur · 11/10/2024 17:37

@Tigerlilli so sorry. You have strength to get through this 💪 x x x

BoldLemur · 11/10/2024 17:44

@fingerscrossedmumma I'm trying to be mindful as you said take it day by day. I find repeating positive affirmations to myself can be helpful. Things like "my baby is safe and strong", "my body is designed to keep my baby safe" "my baby is getting stronger every day" there are lots of positive Pregnancy affirmations online aswell. I think the idea is if you repeat them enough they can block out the negative thoughts that creep in. But yeah it's so hard to be positive after Pregnancy loss. X x x

Thinking of you tigerlilli. I'm so sorry.

BrightGoose · 11/10/2024 20:53

How is everyone handling their nausea ? I had to change my anti sickness because there is a slight increase in certain birth defects with the one I was on for the first 10 weeks. I also was told I need antibiotics and this has both made my sickness worse and less manageable.

anyone know they will need a section? It seems along way away but I know I’ll be having one all being well.
