I have just found out I am expecting baby number 2 and my due date is 1st May.

Has anyone else found out they are expecting and looking for some company?

Hi, can I join the party late!?
Found out a few days ago I am 7 weeks pregnant and am in total shock!
Booked a private scan yesterday and ended up having needing a transvaginal scan which measured 6+2 but with a heartbeat so fingers crossed all goes well the wait to 12 weeks is not fun!

Congratulations! I'm about 8w3d now and I had cramps since I found out I was pregnant at 4 wks, and when I booked a private early scan everything was fine, I have heard they are quite common unless paired with bleeding...
As for early scans as far as I'm aware your only offered an NHS one if you have had previous ectopic pregnancies or miscarriages, or you experience bleeding. However there are places you can book a reassurance scan privately, from 6 weeks usually, they aren't as accurate as NHS ones, but I had one a few days ago and I was able to see that everything was where it should be, that there was just one and saw a heartbeat... So it's nice for reassurance!
Wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy🤗

Thank you so much! ❤️ Wishing you all the best too!!
I actually ended up having some spotting and was referred to Early Pregnancy Assessment for a scan - everything is fine, in the right place and we saw the heart beating!! 🥰
They think I'm actually not as far along as I thought, in week 5 rather than 6 and that it was just a bit more implantation stuff going on.
We have the booking appointment with the midwife in a week, and have booked in for a private early scan a couple of weeks after that for reassurance before our 12 scan.
Trying to just relax and enjoy it now! X

I'm so glad everything is ok for you! Bet it's took so much stress away from you 🤗I'm 9 weeks on Friday and still haven't been contacted to book my booking appointment, I have done the online referral twice and called my nurse at my doctors, she just told me to do the online referral again as she hadn't received anything. What did you do to book yours? X

Poster57 · 02/10/2024 13:39

@ThatGladSwan I’m also 9 weeks on Friday and just got the call yesterday to arrange my booking appointment (by phone) for Friday. Apparently they’re so busy - like you I thought I’d been forgotten about though

I had a call off a midwife today saying I had an appointment for 12.30. to which I explained the whole situation, how I had no texts, calls, emails and she said no one called you to arrange an appointment to which I said no (which is important as I work so I need to book the time off) thankfully she booked it in for this Friday!

Poster57 · 02/10/2024 13:50

@ThatGladSwan glad they managed to get you in this week. I know they’re busy and it must be awful trying to treat the number of patients they are but it doesn’t fill you with confidence does it. They told me that the booking call triggers the 12 week scan being booked so I’m a little worried that will be later now

I completely understand the situation the NHS are in and I really do think they're great. However, there is a huge lack of communication for women in their first trimester (I cant comment on the second and third yet). But yes it's where you also book your 12 week one as well I think, which is why I wanted to get a set date for my booking appointment. That and I already can't wait to see baby, going to be a long 3 weeks or maybe longer😩

Blossomofhope · 02/10/2024 17:17

Hi ladies, how’s everyone going?
Im at 7 weeks today and really struggling with sickness. I feel like I’m hungover everyday. I work from home thankfully but even going calls is such a challenge when you feel like you’re going to puke. 😂 Anyond else just struggling to get anything done? Don’t get me wrong it is reassuring but the hangover feeling isn’t pleasant.

Has anyone got a link to the Facebook group please 🙏

Monday55 · 02/10/2024 19:42

Hi 👋🏾 joining in, I'm currently 7wk1 but had a private scan today, and they measured me at 7wk2 and could see a healthy heartbeat. It was awesome news for DH and I as my last 2 pregnancies ended up as miscarriages.

I haven't thrown up yet, but I have constant nausea throughout the day, which only eases when I eat. Therefore, I'm already worrying about the weight gain so early on.

Pheebz · 03/10/2024 03:12

@MrsKurz That’s great you’ve got something in the meantime - it sounds like they aren’t too concerned as well. It’s so hard with spotting isn’t it, it’s totally normal most of the time but then you can’t help but worry it’s more sinister! I’ve had a bit too but it’s also stopped.

MrsKurz · 03/10/2024 06:46

@Pheebz yes totally! I also still don’t have any other symptoms, and I’m over 6 weeks now. I had symptoms by this time last time so that’s made me a little nervous, but oh well! I have an appointment and scan in a week, so just plodding along until then and trying to enjoy feeling good still :)

Quickdraw23 · 03/10/2024 06:57

Hi @Monday55 congratulations! So sorry to hear of your losses previously, that must have been very hard 😞

hopefully your scan has been helpful and got everything crossed for smooth sailing for you.

i am 7+3 today with an ivf pregnancy and my viability scan is today. I feel sick with nerves!

I haven’t had many symptoms, just occasional mild nausea and swollen tender boobs. But I’ve read that symptoms can’t be used as indicators for anything, so I will just be glad when the scan is over.^^

Sierra26 · 03/10/2024 07:34

Good luck @Quickdraw23, let us know how it goes ! My ivf viability scan isn’t until 8 weeks so I have a private booked for 6+6 as I can’t bear the wait.

@Blossomofhope im feeling hungover every day too, not really feeling any sickness yet but I can sense it coming as I have a sort of sour burpy indigestion feeling - feels like I’ve drank loads of vinegar or fizzy water is the only way I can explain it 😂 And then I’ll have a random short blast of feeling really energetic!

24CRZZNKKA · 03/10/2024 08:18

Looking to join please, I'm about 6 weeks and due 31st May (so just make this chat 😁)

So far feeling low key nauseous on and off all day.

Quite stressed too as I have had 3 MC in the past

Hope everyone is keeping ok

@Quickdraw23 Best of luck today, hope it goes well. Keep us posted.
@Sierra26 Not pleasant is it. When is your 6+6 week scan? I don’t blame you not wanting to wait. 8 wks is quite long, especially when it’s ivf and the process is long anyway.
@24CRZZNKKA Congrats and welcome. I understand the anxiety, I’ve had passed mc too. Feeling a little more positive now I’ve had some good blood tests but 7 week scan tomorrow so I guess I’ll know for sure then if things are progressing. Eek.

california22 · 03/10/2024 08:46

Hi everyone
A bit late but I hope you don't mind me joining in!
6+1 today, have a scan next Thursday due to previous mcs. I have an almost 2yo and still breastfeeding, had treatment with that pregnancy and same treatment with this one so fingers crossed it also works. Been feeling nauseous esp in the evenings and super tired xx

Sierra26 · 03/10/2024 08:52

@Blossomofhope it was booked for next Wed but I’ve just caved and changed it to this Sat when I’ll be 6+2. I know it might be too early but we’ll soon see…

congrats @california22 !

Blossomofhope · 03/10/2024 09:03

@Sierra26 ooh good luck!

Tigerlilli · 03/10/2024 09:35

Good luck with the scan today @Quickdraw23

I had some pink/brown spotting last night, literally just as I wiped, once. I have my follow up scan today and should be 6+5 according to their measurements last week, so nervous about it. My symptoms have pretty much subsided too, so fearing the worst.

rosecbrm · 03/10/2024 11:09

Fingers crossed for your scans today ladies @Quickdraw23 @Tigerlilli 🩷

I've got my next scan at the EPU on Wednesday (should be around 9 weeks) and am dreading it! Everything was fine at our scan last week, but I just have this horrible feeling the heartbeat will have stopped - guess that's what pregnancy after loss does to you! Praying it's positive though.

My nausea seems to have eased a tiny bit recently and I think that's what's throwing me off, despite still being super tired and super sore boobs!

Thank you+

My only successful pregnancy was an ivf pregnancy, so I understand the feelings. I was terrified at my 7-week IVF check-up and was losing sleep leading up to it. All that hardship of the ivf procedure could be wiped off just by one scan 😩 Hope the scan went well for you.

Quickdraw23 · 03/10/2024 19:27

Thank you very much everyone who posted good luck today, I’m really grateful. Really relieved to update and say that everything went well with the scan and I’m measuring at 7w5d, heartbeat ok and in the right place. I’ve finally referred to maternity services as I just couldn’t bring myself to before the scan.

wishing everyone luck with upcoming scans and milestones xx

Tigerlilli · 03/10/2024 19:32

Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts, I’ve had a bit of a day!

Went for the private scan and they couldn’t see anything at all. Had some brown spotting and mild cramping, spoke to the midwife who referred me to A&E. From A&E was referred to early pregnancy assessment, re-scanned and have a pregnancy in the right place, measuring around 6+5 with a strong heartbeat, thankfully!

glad your scan went well too @Quickdraw23 ❤️
